August 15, 2016: Wonder to Alaska!

We are from Pennsylvania, so checking into the best way to get to Vancouver. Right now we are planning to fly to Seattle to spend a day then take the train to Vancouver (but that could change). I look forward to getting to know all of you. :)

Teatah, we're coming from PA too - and flights are one of my biggest questions right now (LOL over a year in advance!) - I'm trying to debate between flying through Toronto or Chicago. Ultimately it's going to come down to the timing of the flights I think, but ugh I don't really like O'Hare!

Where in PA? We are just outside Reading so we will fly from Philadelphia. Could not find anything direct to Vancouver and anything we found was $$$$$.

Hmm, anyone considering a back to back? :sunny: There's a 4 night cruise from Vancouver to San Diego right after ours!

Let's use this thread to discuss our amazing trip of a lifetime, join FE groups if desired, and share our excitement as the date grows nearer :flower1:

FE LIST

FE participants will be put into groups of 11 (so you give to 10 cabins) closer to sail date. Room numbers will be provided to group members only when finalized. You are welcome to join more than one group if you like!

Hi! We would like to join the FE group, this will be our second Disney cruise. The last name is Selvage, two adults and two kids (10 and 8). Thanks!

I haven't remembered to ask him yet but I'll go ahead and sign me and future hubby up for the FE as well. It'll be just the two of us: me (Allison - 31 then) and hubby (Cole - 27 when we sail)

Thanks!

Awesome! Hopefully the year will go by fast!

I've been looking at the excursion options for this year and wow! I better start saving now, are they expensive! :scared:

Hi Everyone!

We are traveling from the Bay Area for the cruise. Would love to be part of the FE, traveling with DH 35, myself (DW) 35 DS 14, and DD 5. This is our first family Disney Cruise, we are all excited.

If you want to join the FE, just PM me your names, ages of kids and room number and I'll start a list. I'll be separating/organizing them in groups of 11 (so you have 10 cabins to exchange with) closer the sailing date.
I'll be sailing with my DH, my daughter who will be 12 when we cruise and my son will be 11. We recently moved from Guelph,Ontario to Kelowna, British Columbia, so can actually drive to port now!

Hi I can't PM you, but would love to be part of the FE. DH 35, myself (DW) 35, DS 14, and DD 5.

Hi, everyone. My DD and I will joining you and would love to join the FE group. If anyone is interested, we would also like to join a mixology class. Our Disboards group, on our last cruise, set a class up and it was one of the highlights of our cruise. If someone could pm details I would appreciate it. This will be our 7th Disney cruise. We sailed in the Dream, the only ship we hadn't been on, a week ago and are cruising on the Fantasy to the Caribbean in Sept. for my DD's 24th birthday. If anyone cares for my opinion, we would rather have about 20 cabins in our FE group. We had 13 cabins in our last FE group (which was only a 4 night cruise) and didn't get anything on one of the days. We've had larger groups before and it was more fun. However, whatever the group decides will be okay with us. Thanks for reading my 2 cents worth and look forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome! I'll explain my FE reasoning to you…there will be days (especially on a 7 day cruise) where you may not receive gifts in your FE, they do tend to be bunched up in the beginning and on sea days. I refuse to add pressure to people and assign specific days to hand out gifts as they do in some groups. Keeping the groups limited allows more people to join in, some like smaller groups or give out more personalized items which works better with less numbers. If you like larger groups, you simply join more than one! So you can keep it as small or as large as you like, your choice :smooth:

We will be coming from PA, too! I'm trying to guess when will be best to book flights. We live near Allentown, so we will look at Philly or Newark to Seattle or Vancouver for flights. Any money I save on flights I can use towards excursions! :)

I like the less stress version. I get too overwhelmed with big groups. We had peopel in our last group that joined two and three groups by choice. That makes it work out for everyone, IMO. Also, I like the idea of waiting a little while to do the groups, then maybe you can group families with similar aged kids or people on certain decks, etc.

This will be our third Disney cruise. We have done the Dream and the Fantasy so far. Looking forward to checking out a classic ship!

Hi, You can remove me from this FE group. I think I'll just stick to one group. Thank you!

I realized I'm in the wrong year for my cruise haha. P!ease remove me from this FE.

Hi, my DW and I will be going on this cruise and would like to be added to the FE list. No grandkids this time just the two of us. Dave and Adella room 6569. This will be our 6th trip to Alaska on the Wonder, We were on the first trip that the Wonder made to Alaska in 2011 and we have made the trip each year since that first voyage. If anybody would like to ask us questions, we would be happy to answer them. The Fish Extender experience is a lot of fun and helps to make the trip very enjoyable.

Welcome! I'll add you to the FE list. I'm sure you'll have lots of us asking you questions, since you've done this cruise so many times! :)
