Wouldn't it be nice to be there right now, just starting the trip. Can we join the party?

these all make me home('cruise)'sick - sure miss you all.....i've been posting some of my photos on the DCL Photo of the Day thread.....
Hope all of you are doing well. DS had football 'jamboree' last night - was pretty exciting!
Hoping to get more of my album done this 'long' wkend-actually i should be able to get most of it done....
once it's done - i'll post some of the pages.....

I'll check out your pictures there.

I started a thread with a few of my favorite pictures. If any of you want to add any there, feel free.

Glad the jamboree was fun. Isnt it hard to believe that just a few weeks ago we were sailing away and now its back to real life and the everyday stuff? My kids start school Thursday, and it just doesnt seem real. We should all be on that ship still.

Brenda, loved the picture of you, Ryan, and Mickey

Thanks...i'll check out your thread too and post some more there....it is SOOO hard to just be here doing the everyday things - knowing that 21 days ago today we were on our way to the most fabulous trip we've ever taken....i sure can't wait till Disney publishes the 2007 dates so we can get a new 'ticker countdown' to that trip...sure hope some or all of you will join us on that cruise!!!

Randall & Irene - have an AWESOME time in NYC!!!

Great pictures everyone. :cool1: Hubby has been busy getting all the pictures and video posted on our family webpage.
I have been looking over upcoming cruises and I have been waiting for the 2007 dates to post. I have never done a 3 or 4 day but know that I wouldn't want to after doing a 7 day. I agree with you Branda a 10 day sounds good. Kids are back at school they started on Thursday. I have 2 that are freshman one hates high school and the other loves it. I have a sophmore a junior and a senior and the senior is being the protector of the 2 freshman works out nicely. My youngest is in 5th grade.
Hope everyone is doing well and again it was nice to meet all of you.
Will post some pictures at a later time. :wave2:

Hello everyone again. It has now been just over a month since we got off of the Magic. We are back to school and work. Just wanted to remind everyone that if you have an eye related question please don't hesitate to email or call the office. If any of you have had a chance to read the literture that I included in your goodie bags and have any questions please let me know.

Remember to get your kids eyes examined once a year. Especially true if you or your spouse wears glasses on a daily basis for distance task. Or if one of your other children already wears glasses. I see far too many kids that should have had glasses much sooner than they did. Also if you don't pick up amblopia before the age of 10, it is generally not correctable to 20/20 ever again.

If you wear glasses that slip down change your nose pads to silicone non slip nose pads.

If you wear contact lenses. Change your contact lens cases every three months and change your contacts on schedule.

I am hoping that we can go down to Disneyland in April of 06. Hope all is well and everyone is healthy.

Hey Doc....glad to hear from you!!! Hope NY was a nice trip for you & Irene!!! I thought I'd be going there this wkend (with my friend whose daughter designed the Mickey 75th statue). THey are being auctioned at Sothebys this next week; but a co-worker is going to be out this Fri/Mon so we can't both be gone at same time....so i'm missing out on that trip...
can't wait till next cruise!!!

i thought of you, Randall...they were showing that fashion week thing in nyc on the e channel!!

thanx for the eye tips! now, why the need to change your contact cases every 3 months?

Brenda...did you set a date for your next cruise already? i know you were looking at 2007. i'm waiting for those dates to come out, and my ta should let me know. hopefully, our dates will coincide...and we'd all be traveling together again!!

Hey Susie!!! Sure do miss everyone and all the posts!!!! Everything is great here - finished my cruise album this past weekend (except for all the journaling so wil post some of those pages then)! I don't have a 2007 date yet - but had to put SOMETHING for a ticker - so just put the 2006 Dec date that the gal onboard booked us for now. I would REALLY love to do a 10 night!!! Can't wait till the dates come out!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Hey did you all get your Castaway Cay memberships???? That is so cool we get that without even going there (yet!!)!!! Stay in touch all!!!

From Starwood

We had open house at DS's school last night and am I mad! We booked the 4 night Wonder for his spring break 4/23 and were planning on 3 nights at Disney with DVC after and flying home Sunday morning. Now they tell us they are taking away the last 2 days of spring break and adding them to Presidents week in February. IF we don't use all our snow days they will give us those 2 days back. Now I have to take DS out of school those 2 days and they take a very dim view of this at the school.

We can't move the cruise to February because we'll be paying a fortune for it. This is the first year they've pulled this stunt. I hope they get tons of phone calls today complaining about this.

Just noticed that DS left his log-in on my computer.

Hey Gang,

I miss everyone and our excitement too, but now its back to real life. Hopefully someday it will be time to cruise again. Its nice tohear how everyone is doing.

We dont have any set date for a cruise, but my mom and I are taking along weekend in WDW in December. Yay!

Nancy, that stinks about DS's school, but you had this booked and they changed things. Don't let them get to you.

Randall, thanks for the eye tips. I'm curious too...why change the contact case every 3 months? Is it to avoid infections?

Keep in touch everyone!

Katie

Hi Nancy - OMG - that is just WRONG!!! they will just have to do without your DS those few days and get over it - they changed the schedule. That's what happened with Ryan this August & why he missed the 1st two days of school because they changed the schedule. They don't even have those days counted as absent days....

I had to laugh when i saw who DARTH VADER92 was from.....i thought - i don't remember a 'darthvader92' from all of our posts 'pre-cruise'!

Katie - HOW FUN that you & your mom are taking a vacation to WDW together!!! that is great!!!

I have my annual DL trip with my friend (no kids) coming up 10/31 - it's just a day trip on our way to Palm Springs, and then leaving 12/21 for DL again with friend and our DS' (DH won't go to DL anymore or take a cruise) - we'll come back 12/24 - i'm not hosting Christmas this year and my DD will be in Hawaii - so it's a great time for me to get down there....

Glad everyone is doing well....sure miss you all!!!

Well they are allowed a certain number of unexcused absenses. They always have a disclaimer for spring break to not make any plans that can't be changed because if we used more than 4 snow days they would take the days back from spring break. That has never been a problem. They said with the high cost of fuel this year and that most kids get sick around that time of year that they would give the full week in February instead of April. I'm hoping that we have a very, very mild winter.

I checked to see how much it would be if we changed from April to February and it's about $700 more. :earseek:

So the reason to change your contact lens case every three months is that the case gets dirty too. Most people don't always wash their hands before they take off their contacts lenses. Even if you do you still transfer some oils, dirt and make up to the case. This can make the case very unsterile after a while. If you are in disposable contact lenses and you change your contacts every two weeks, doesn't it make sense to change your case once and awhile. You can usually put your contact lens case in the top rack of a dish washer and then use a tooth brush to scrub the case. But it is much easier just to throw the old things away.

Every three months is a good guide line. FYI another eye care tip. If any of you wear glasses it may be news to you that you can change your nose pads on the glasses if they start to change color. I see green, black, yellow and all kinds of broken nose pads every day. Green is mold, black is dirt and oils, yellow is just plastic ageing or a lot of make up. If your nose pad is HARD there are also silicone nose pad which are soft and more sticky. These types of nose pads tend to slip less and leave less of a mark on your nose. So bring in those eye glasses to your optometrist and ask them to change them for you.

Hello my friends:

Hope everyone is doing well. Thank you all for your words of comfort and friendship. It has helped me go through a difficult time in my life.

The Magic cruise was a wonderful experience and meeting you all was one of the highlights of the cruise. We enjoyed sharing our memories with our friends and relatives. Some of them are wanting to cruise so we are planning a group cruise soon.

Hope our paths will cross again.

Best Regards,

Arlene and Cecilia

Hi all -
Arlene - so nice to hear from you and that you're doing okay. Life here is busy as ever - with Ryan's school and football schedule. my cruise album is FINISHED -and has been awhile, except some journaling here and there - but need to be in the right spot & frame of mind to sit and journal - but i sure think of you all you when i look at it. I PROMISE to photograph some of the pages and post them here for you scrapbookers.
Looking forward to my adults only DL trip on 10/31 (it's an annual thing on our way to Palm Springs) and then going again right before Xmas for two days...just so Ryan can be there during the holiday celebration but mostly for the Night before Xmas remake of the Haunted Mansion...one of my favs, but he's never seen it....
take care - stay in touch!!!
PS - thanks Doc for the glasses tips - wasn't aware of those...but i do change lens cases every time my Clear Care runs out - as the new packs provide a new case each time. Great product!!!
