August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

I have to go in tomorrow and set up my classroom :scared1:!!! It's that time again!!! I decided to go in tomorrow and Thursday for my two August days that I have to complete. The building is supposed to be closed, but I arranged with my principal to go in since it is opening the week we are away... It's not like they are not there - they are just cleaning and don't want all of us there bothering them. Trust me - I will be in and out and they will hardly know I was there! :rotfl2:

I am trying to decide if I want to set up my room in a different way, and for some reason when I try to picture my room layout all I keep picturing is the Quiet Cove pool in my mind... :cloud9: Hopefully, when I get into my room tomorrow I will get inspired with a new seating plan....if not the desks will be back into groups like I had last year - hey, it's new to these students - it's just old to me! :rolleyes1

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hello! We are arriving in WDW on the 9th and departing on the 17th. Will be going to the parks on the 10th, 11th, & 16th, possibly the evening of the 9th. I am looking forward to the meet!

Enjoy your time at WDW. Looking forward to meeting you and your family on the cruise. I have three daughters aged 21,17 & 16 and hopefully between everyone in our group, we can be helpful to you and your family.

How is your weather? We are in PA near Philly and we are in another heat wave up here. I am hoping when we get to the cruise it will be cooler? lol

Thanks! Now I am not going to be inconveniencing anyone :) We will be fine. Hopefully the girls will want to go to their clubs. Tyra should want to play in Andy's room. Heck I do lol!

It is 85 here today! It has been in the upper 90's. I am worried about the forecast of rain everyday in WDW. I grew up in Ohio!

I am so envious!!! we are not even leaving until the 10th and stopping in Lurray Caverns the first day and Savannah GA the second day then to the ship. I can't wait to meet everyone who have been so helpful here what a great group of folks we have already met thru this site!!! I am Shirley, Rich's wife, and he has been doing all of the talking so far but I just can't hold my excitement in any more!!! I made our FE and I gotta say I'm pretty proud of it cause I am ot the most domestic of wives:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 and we have almost all of the FE gifts together then just some more packing and we are ready!!! :cheer2:Gotta pack the GIANTS gear!! Can't forget that!!! :cheer2: only a few more days and we will all be having a great time!!!1

Gary, I wish we were having the heat wave you are having. Your forecast highs are upper 80's to low 90's with scattered showers a few days. :cold: Here in Texas, our forecast highs are over 100 for the next 10 days with no chance of rain. :firefight Ugh! Can't wait to get to Orlando next week.

I just went to the previos page and realized I totally missed the post about the movie listings... Did you all see that The Help was on the list!!!! Who read that book? It was one of my favorites and I can't wait to see the movie!

Lani, I also got excited over that movie. Haven't read the book, but I hear good things about it. Judy, I just checked with our TA about our info and tags that we have not received....they say they went in today's mail. Thank goodness! I was starting to get worried. 5 more days of work:banana: I just love this little banana guy. Kids are getting excited...they packed what they are going to take on the plane today, and got along all day today. Amazing what happens to kids when they know they are going to the happiest place on earth. Tina, so excited to hear there weren't many crowds. Hopefully it will stay that way. Anyone keeping up with who the Jets have acquired? They might be tough this year. Bye for now...need to get some ice cream!

BalooHoo, thank you so much for that info. Tori has been dying to see African Cats, but we never had a chance to see it and it was gone out of the theater. She was off the wall when I told her it was playing on the boat :cutie: And Lani, I have been waiting for The Help. I haven't read the book yet, but I just read a great interview with the author and I knew I had to read the book. Guess I will just have to see the movie :rotfl:

10 days for us! We leave on the 11th and are staying at the Country Inn & Suites at the port that night. Then after the cruise we are at Wilderness Lodge until the 24th. To say I'm excited is an understatement. I feel everyone's pain about having to get their work done first though. I have the glorious task of creating a Medicare manual for the hospital before I leave. I think the OIG will be paying us a visit while I'm away so I absolutely must get it done. Anyway, any task involving the word Medicare must be fun, right?? :rotfl2:

I keep thinking I should start packing.... Or maybe do some work.... But instead I keep finding myself here...

It was not anywhere near 100 today, but it was in low 90's. I am glad I am not where you are! How humid do you get out there? pirate:

Shirley, you and my father would get along great. The team of his heart is the Giants being we're from NY originally. He's a Steelers fan too, obviously, but it took us about 20 years to get him out of the Giants winter coat he wore constantly and into a Steelers one. My mother and I would pretend we didn't know him when he was walking around the 'Burgh in it.... :rotfl:

Turned out to be a beautiful night here, finally. When I got home from work I grabbed the dog, went outside and hung out with my neighbor for a few hours while she gardened. Bugs weren't even out for once which was nice.

I'm pretty sure I'm in shock that we'll be leaving here a week from tomorrow. All day today when I was making follow up appointments for patients checking out of the clinic and I was thinking "WOW!! I'll be on vacation when you come back!" I'm normally feeling like the time is dragging the week leading up to vacation, but this time it's opposite and feels like it's flying by! Hopefully the vacation itself doesn't.

Beautiful day in the Burgh yesterday and another one expected today!

Thank you for the movie line up! I meant to call and totally forgot. I've never watched a movie on board. I guess once I'm on the ship I think I can watch at home and I want to take advantage of everything else. I know DS and DSGF will be excited though! But "The Help"? I may just have to see that one.

Still no call from my TA. After my meeting this morning (I hate meetings downtown) I'm going to give her a call. Right after I go to Macy's to see if I need anything!:thumbsup2 I could shop all day too!

Glad that the movie listings were helpful. My DW and DS14 both read The Help and are looking forward to seeing it. I may join them if I can find the time! It debuts in the theaters just a couple of days before the cruise, so it's pretty convenient timing.

We're leaving for WDW on Friday, with a one night stop at my parents' house in Hilton Head until Saturday morning. We'll be splitting our stay between BCV and BWV. We're in full packing mode, and we're finding it hard to concentrate on real life as the excitement builds. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 12th!

Hello from animal kingdom! We have been here since yesterday morning and are having a blast! Crowds are minimal at the parks, we went to MK yesterday and didn't encounter many waits for rides, today we were at epcot and the park was practically empty. Being a weekend, I assumed it would be busier, but we aren't complaining! Tomorrow we are headed to the outlet mall for some shopping therapy! :lmao: my DH isn't too happy, but he'll get over it. He's not a shopping person! Then back to MK for dinner at Tonys, and maybe wishes, it's my favorite!

Can't wait to meet all of you at club 687! We will be there!

See ya all soon, I'll be checking in from my iPad while we are here!

Ohh, I wish I was there! Hope crowd levels are low after the cruise.

How nice that you'll have the classroom set up now. I've got to go in a few days after we get back from the trip. Our teacher workshop doesn't start until the following week after we get back, but we needed to switch classrooms and I will go back to a room with everything packed in boxes...:upsidedow Our building had major room reorganization and 17 classrooms changed locations, so there was no time at the end of the year to unpack as other teacher wasn't out of her room yet.:sad2:

In case anyone is interested, a thread has been set up for people to post happenings today, the first debarkation from Port Canaveral with the new "assigned" arrival times: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2770966

PS: Only 10 days to go!!!

I saw this, from reading through the posts, it looks like they are not enforcing the check in times people signed up for online. They do seem to be only letting people in the building at 11 though.

I like to look at the FE list and see who has kids the same age or people who are on same deck, but then I stopped to think that I wasn't on the list being I'm not doing FE (duh). Maybe there is someone else on the boards with a child of the same age as mine but I don't know it because they are not doing FE, too. I don't want to go through the whole list and check, so I thought maybe I could post something for people reading now who aren't on FE list who wanted to add their names. If you want to be added, just type in your info and I'll update the list. (I hope I'm not the only one reading these not doing FE! :rotfl:)

Okay, my question for today...

I've been reading the "Navigators" on allears, seeing all the things to do on the ship. With everything you can do, including the aquaduck, the enchanted art adventures, the movies, the shows, the night clubs, a comedian (adults only), mini-golf, sports deck, more shows, shopping, the pools, and more... I don't think we'll have time for everything!

We're taking the excursion to Atlantis (the cheaper/shorter one) while in Nassau, and will probably take a walk through the shopping areas. We've been to Nassau (about 10 years ago), but the kids haven't, so we want them to at least experience being on the island. We'll probably do that as quick as we can and run back to the ship!

We'll be up at the crack of dawn (or sooner), and stay up until they turn off the lights, so we'll try to make the most of our time on board. We'll relax when we get to Disney after the cruise (Ha!).

We're Disney Cruise Newbies. Can the veteran's give us some advice on what not to miss, and what to put on our "if we have time" list?

- Rich

My DH has been running around all day trying to get everything together for his return to the classroom too. :teacher:Because this is his first year working for the district (they bought out the special ed contracts from the Intermediate Unit) he has to get all kinds of paperwork completed. They just gave him the list yesterday. He could have been working on it all summer but now only has 3 weeks to complete (physical, TB test, fingerprints, clearances, etc.). He's a neurotic mess. It's days like this I'm glad I can go to work!

I just finished my FE gifts - hooray! :cheer2:Now both the FE and gifts are done. That's a big relief.

My TA called this morning and all of my docs are in. I'll pick up tomorrow after work. Can't wait to have them in my greedy hands!

I have a question for everyone - I work as a housing program manager for a non-profit veterans program (housing homeless vets). I'm 3rd down on the chain of command. The woman above me is crazy. I have diagnosed her as bi-polar, borderline personality disorder. She's very bright but hard to deal with and has just returned to work full time, out since March. She has fibromyalgia which is a manifestation of her mental health. She's always in pain and she thinks she is being poisoned by mold in her house. She has spent thousands of dollars having it removed. She's still sick and has decided to sell and move. The top boss has told us he is cancelling our Thursday meeting so we (myself and my staff) can go to her house all day and help her paint! I'm having a hard time dealing with this. I do not want to paint her basement and bedrooms so she can move. My house needs painted too! Should I suck it up and help?:confused3 I hate being put in a position like this and feel it's wrong on so many levels. I'm too damn old and tired!:sad2:

I want to sail away:boat:
