August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

We're here, too! Just getting last minute things done to get ready for the trip. Making my packing plans, getting our shirts done, ect. It is going to be here before we know it! :cool1:

You are right about the dog. We throw the frisbee to her and she about has a heat stroke. Then back inside. Going to start working on toiletries today. And figure out how to pack my autograph mats so they won't bend. We're getting three signed...one for Trevor, Melina, and my mom Eleanor. So if anyone talks to her don't mention it. 10 days of work left until we leave:cool1:

Last time I put my autograph mats each in a ziplock bag with the markers and candy and laid it on top of my suitcase. It worked out well and they did not bend. I wrote on the outside of my ziplock bag my stateroom number and our last name.

I think down in South Florida we are the coolest of the country! Crazy! Stay hydrated, all!

Wow! Just found this board. It is going to take all weekend to read everything. The four of us (me, DW, DD, DD) will be sailing the Dream too.

Have not, yet, seen anything about an FE list. Anyone participating? This will be our first cruise with our girls. Everyone is excited.

Back from Erie. It was too hot and the waves on the lake were wild and too big. They were kicking up the sand and made swimming uncomfortable, if you know what I mean. Had to wash sand out of everything. And I do mean everything.:scared1::lmao: Got a nice sunburn too. But it was great getting away.
Our Golden goes out the door, turns and looks at me as if to say "You're kidding, right?" He does his business and runs back into the house and lays in front of the AC vent. It was 96 here yesterday and 91 so far today. I'm going to set up his little pool for him tonight. Nothing like a big wet dog!:dog:

Little by little I'm getting things done. It's 17 days for us.:dance3:

Stay COOL................

Hello & Welcome:

My name is Gary Pinkos, my DW is Janet and I have three DD's on the older side. DD-Jenn is 21, DD-Stacey is 17 & DD-Robin is 16.....but we are all young at heart! .....What are the names of you and your family, and what are the ages of your DD's ?

I am signed up for the FE list, but I never did it before. If you look through the threads you will see that it actually closed a few weeks back. Not sure if or how you could be included. :thumbsup2 Maybe someone else has insight into if this would be possible? I know some families are actually leaving soon, going to WDW prior, and one family is doing back to back cruises, and our cruise is the later one.

I think everyone here is very excited to be getting close to the date for our dream cruise. This thread actually started in March of 2010. I actually didn't check the thread for much of the time, but the last few months this thread has been very busy.:surfweb:

Are you going to WDW before or after your cruise...Or just doing the cruise?

Have you signed up for any excursions in Nassau or Castaway Cay?

Again.....welcome, and over the next few days I am sure many people will chime in and fill you in on some of the things discussed in the recent past.pirate:

Hey everyone!

I braved the heat today to run some errands and went shopping. Went to Marshall's in hope of finding some packing cubes/envelopes (heard a rumor they can be found there sometimes) but came home with clothes instead. Did I buy the last part of my FE gifts? Nope. Nothing caught my eye so I left empty handed. Nothing like waiting til the last minute!!

Tomorrow morning I'll dig out the suitcase and starting throwing things in. Hopefully I'm smart about it and won't need to pull much out until D-Day. Can't believe it's close enough to start doing that!!! YAY!

In the afternoon I'm meeting my friend and making a giant chunk of gifts. She's being so nice to help me, 4 hands is better than 2! Then I'll be able to pack all my FE stuff...well almost all of it, lol, since I'm missing the last piece.

Off to finish laundry and watch Harry Potter on ABC. Hope everyone stays cool and enjoys their weekend!!

Welcome to our newest family! Please introduce yourselves... my name is Lani and my DH is Nick. We have 3 boys. Matt will be 13 in a couple of weeks and Jack and Ryan are 8. We are so excited for this cruise and will be driving down on the 10th. My mom, Dianne, will be flying down on the 11th and joining us. I can't imagine why she doesn't want to drive with us??? :confused3

After the cruise, we are staying at POR for 4 days but going to Sea World and Aquatica.

Also all of us, the Disney Dreamers, are planning to get together on the Dream at 2:30 at Club 687. If you can, please join us!!!

Cara, we are also watching Harry on ABC... I was joking that we have the DVD and can watch it whenever we want, but here we are watching it on ABC commercials and all!!! :rolleyes1

I have started pulling things out, put I have not started packing anything yet... can't wait to start that! That means it will be soon!!! :dance3:

Welcome mclmCruisers! I am Jamey.. Cruising with us is myself, DH (Steve), DS (Owen 11), DNephew (Dominick 10) and DD (Tori 6). In a separate cabin are the in-laws. We are first time cruisers, and I think out of the group of really active people on this board we are the only first-timers ;)

We live in Connecticut with our dog and 3 cats, oh yeah and a rabbit... So we have a pretty full house! We are big disney fans and have been going to Disney at least twice a year for several years now. After the cruise we will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge until the 24th. Hopefully you can find time to meet up with all of us on the cruise.

So Steve and I just got home from the casino. We live right near a HUGE one. We never ever go because Steve says he'd rather give his money to WDW  Like usual we didn't win anything. Thankfully, I won $60 on my way out the door, which made the overall loss a little better.

There's a big mall there where I found a store that sells bare escentuals makeup. Anyone ever heard of that? I bought a couple of the powders because they feel like silk on your skin I swear!!!

Well since it's technically tomorrow... Only 18 days left for us!! I'm so excited and can't wait to officially meet everyone.

Welcome to our new family!

My name is Lindsey, my husband is Jason and our son is Luke (10). We live in Newport, South Wales in the UK.
This will be our second Disney cruise.

Well not long now everyone! Only 2 more sleeps for us before we leave for London. We are staying overnight in a hotel before we fly. Unfortunately we couldn't get a flight out of our local airport in cardiff.

Spent most of yesterday packing and had a massive panic - really struggled to get our FE gifts in! Apologies if they look a bit squashed when you get them.
Have lots of cleaning and ironing to do for the next couple of days. We are taking our computer with us so we should be able to stay tuned to all the activity on here. :surfweb:

Hope everyone is keeping cool - we've heard about the really hot weather you are having. It's warm but wet here!

I've heard of Bare Escentuals makeup Jamey - they sell it over here but I've never tried it. Sounds wonderful - maybe I'll look out for it in the duty free shop.

:welcome: to our newest family! My name is Chylynn, DH is Dave (zuperdaave on this board) and we have two DDs travling with us (Rebecca 6 and Emily 2, turning 3 in September). This is our third Disney cruise and we are excited!

I am anxious to start packing, but still too far away for us since we are not goint to Disney before or after the cruise.

Jamey, I have used bare escentuals in the past and it does go on smooth! I am currently using Mary Kay makeup as my sister is selling it and I have to support the family! LOL! You will love bare escentuals in this Florida heat. It won't feel so thick on your face.

Jamey, I have been wearing the BE makeup for a few years now. (I actually use Bare Minerals - not sure if there is a difference between the two.) I love it!

I heard on the weather report that today is supposed to be the last day of the heat wave!! I sure hope so... It is just too much. We are going down to my aunt's pool for the day.

Next week it needs to be cooler - I am taking Matt out of his regular camp and sending him to Phillies camp for the week. He went a couple of years ago and had a great time. It is run by the Phillies, and they run week long camps at the local HS in the area... this week it is at our HS. Matt is a huge baseball fan/player. So he is going to hopefully learn something and have fun....they also go down to Citizen's Bank Park for a day and meet a player.

But they do all of this in full baseball gear all week long...and Matt is a catcher! :scared1: (I heard that last week during the heat wave the HS had a Union soccer camp there and a kid was taken to the hospital with heat stroke!!!!) At least at his regular day camp they have a water park and pools... Oh well, lots of water and gatoraide!! (and temps not in the 100's!!!)

:cheer2:Welcome new family. My name is Rae and I am from Pittsburgh but live in Cincinnati with my husband Ray, DS Trevor who is 14:cool2:And DD Melina who is 11princess: We are bringing my mom Eleanor ( also from Pgh) on vaca with us and we are spending 3 days at Riverside before the cruise. My mom will be quite surprised :scared1: with all the rides I will put her on! Jamey, I also use Bare E. Makeup. But there went your 60.00. It's not cheap! 16 days for us:cool1: I have lost the hooks that hold up my organizer for the back of the bathroom door. So I will spend the day tearing apart the house looking for those. kids come back today after spending the weekend with their dad. Melina starts texting as early as sat. am telling me she wants to be over here:guilty: need to go. Making stew for dinner. I know, it's not really the right dinner when it's 100 degrees out, but it sounded good yesterday in the grocery store. Stay cool everyone!

I'm so glad people have heard of BE makeup. I didn't want to take the makeup off last night LOL. After waking up today and reading the info., I think that Bare Escentuals is the name of their stores and Bare Minerals is the product?? All of the stuff I bought said Bare Minerals.. So Lani, I guess it is the same stuff :) Chylynn, Rae and Lindsey - thank you for the feedback. This is the first time in my life I have had to wear makeup on my face, so I appreciate the good feedback.

Well back to Disney.. I am taking Tori to see Winnie the Pooh today. It's kind of a dreary, hot day in CT so I thought it would be fun for the girls. Owen would rather play a video game. I am also having my first attempt at pulled pork. I bought a GIGANTIC pork roast (by accident) so it's simmering in the crock pot... I hope it's half-way decent. I think DH will be very disappointed if it's yucky. I made sure to buy the really good rolls, in an effort to mask the end result if necessary :rotfl2:

Jamey, just make sure it cooks for at least 8 hours, pull apart with a fork and throw some BBQ sauce on it. You CAN'T screw it up. What do you mean "this is the first time you've had to wear makeup"? How old are you? 20? BE is starting to NOT cover up my flaws because there's so many:scared1:

When I make pulled pork, I pour in a 2 ltr bottle of coke or pepsi and let it simmer in the crock pot for several hours. Dump out the liquid (clear by now!) shred it and pour BBQ sauce on it. Yummy!! I can't wait to hear how yours comes out! 8 hours sounds about right and you definatelty can not screw it up! LOL!

First time ever wearing makeup?? I am seriously JEALOUS! You suck!!

Rae, I sure do I wish I was 20!! I'm still not far from 20 (I'm 34), but most days I feel like I'm a hundred. I've always worn makeup, just never on the skin on my face... you know like foundation or powder, etc. I've been a make up junkie since I was a teen. The addiction was passed down by my mother who had more make up than I ever will! Until recently, I was blessed with nice enough skin that I didn't have to cover it up at all. I always had rosie cheeks that didn't need blush or anything... But then they kept getting more rosie, and more and more.. And I started feeling sick too.. Come to find out what used to be nice rosie cheeks was actually Lupus :guilty: Anyway, not to be a bummer, I just have the pleasure now of wearing some powder ;)

Chylynn, I second that!:rotfl:

The heat is unbelievable here... even the dog won't go out! :lmao: I told Nick last night that we should just go to FL now since it is cooler there!
We've had heat index of 100-120 several days here with humidity 70-80. I keep telling DS to step outside and see if he thinks we can still tour Universal and WDW commando style, like our plans are. He thinks yes, I think no. :rotfl:

I always pack a thin 12 X 12 cardboard box, from some old scrapbooking supplies. I always seem to bring home something I don't want bent up, so it comes in handy and doesn't take up much room. Maybe you could find a thin box the size of your mats. Then you know they'd come home safe, too.

Welcome! I'm Michelle and will be sailing with DH and DS age 15.

Hey, I forgot to ask where online can we find if the time we picked to arrive at port has been changed? I could have sworn I found it online before but can't seem to find it now.
