Donna, I have to board our dog too. I've check with our vet, who also does her grooming, and they charge $16/day. I'm feeling better about the $160 we'll be paying. Hope you have better luck.

Pam

John,

Glad to see I'm not the only one watching the weather on a daily basis. It seems too good to be true that we're into August and there have only been two named storms in the Atlantic. I'm hoping things hold off for our trip - but it's too soon to tell I guess. Given the current heat wave we're having (not as bad as the West coast thankfully), I'm looking forward to getting to the Caribbean for some cooler temps. :teeth:

We sort of started packing this weekend. At least we've told DD that she has one more weekend of shopping if there are any "must haves" still on her list. Funny thing is, she's probably the one least interested in getting dressed up for many of the evenings.

I forgot about the power strip, but will make sure we pack one. We did get the over-the-door shoe holders for the bathrooms. That should definitely come in handy.

I keep trying to keep myself away from the DISBoards so I can focus on work, but it isn't working out that way. :badpc:

Pam $160 is a bargain!! We looked at 2 more this morning but neither of them have openings. I am getting worried! Oh well, better get back to my search.

:wave2: MagicinMyHeart! (Beckie) I would love to share some info. So lets get started, shall we :teacher:

1) DisNames: Im not sure what that is. But would love to share if told :teeth:

2) Names/Age/Relationships: My name is Hazel. Im 31 and Im the mom ;)
My DH's name is Jay and he's 30 (I like em younger then me so I can train them right! :rotfl2: ) My DD12's name is Felicia.

3) Hometown: We live in Raleigh, North Carolina

4) Stateroom #: 2107

5) Dining Time: Late

6) WDW? No. We wont be going there this go around.

7) Port Canaveral stay?: We will be staying in a hotel on the drive to Fl. We aren't flying this time so we know for sure that we have our luggage.

8) Special Events: My daughters 12th birthday princess: and my 9th anniversary

9) Special Activities onboard: We want to do Palo and High Tea

10) Special Excursions: Key West we aren't doing any excursions but just walk around and see whats what. - Cozumel we are going to do the Power Snorkel Treasure Hunt and lots of shopping :woohoo: - In Grand Cayman we are going to do the Sea Trek - and in CC we are going to do the snorkel lagoon (all day) with a short time out for the  Banana Boat ride

11) Not a CC member but if I have as much fun on this cruise as I think I will then I will definitly be back on DCL. My hubby and I took a Carnival to Cozumel when we first got married and then about two years ago a Carnival to the Bahamas. We had a good time on both but now my DD12 is old enough we want to take her with us and thought that DCL would be fun. I didn't realize how much more there is to the cruise then the others. After signing up and reading the boards there is just tons more to do and I think more fun to be had :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

12) Spcial stories to share?: Well I dont know that I can think of any special stories. Other then I am totally ready for a cruise and really ready for "the drink of the day" and extrememly ready to have a good time!!! We are nice people and we all like to hang out and have fun. My DH is a computer programmer (software programmer) and I was teaching computers at the local community college before we moved here to Raleigh NC. (we moved here about 9 months ago) and I have stared back to college to finish off my degree. My daughter will be starting middle school this coming year and is really excited. So thats a little about us.

13) Attend a DIS meet while onboard?: Most definitly! I would love to meet some of you. Just tell me where and when. :Pinkbounc

Hi Tia... I feel your pain. We wanted to get a kennel for our :cat: Miss Kitty. It was going to cost us $355 for the week. I guess that's not nearly as bad as it could have been. Thankfully though my sister is going to house sit and watch over Miss Kitty along with Mr. Poppy our goldfish. We got lucky.

My DD is 12 also and is conversing with DD-12 Kaitlin who belongs to First Mickey. Now we will have 3-12 old's Watch out :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The meets are on 8/12 at 3:00 in promenade lounge and on deck 10 during the sail away party. If we all really really like the drink of the day :cool1: and the kids are in the locked in the lab :thumbsup2 who knows maybe we could have another one at the Cove cafe next to the adult pool
Look forward to meeting everyone, John

PS if I brought my computer could you help me get the wireless connection???to work??

Well yesterday was clear sailing except 3 areas of intrest. Well one of those areas of interest has turned into Tropical Storm Chris and is roughly headed to the Florida straits. :sad2: Based on current speeds and timing it could turn op the west coast on Mon, turn into fla on Tuesday and be crossing fla on wed. :sad2:
That could impact any early arrivers like me. :sad2: It would also have to strengthen to have any impact at all right now its no big deal. :thumbsup2
5 of the computer models have it completely disipating in the next 3 days. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: So we will just have to keep our eyes peeled. In any case doesnt look like it could impact Magic on Sat at all. :sunny:

We have a dog now too and I am learning that you can no longer just pick up and go, even for a long day trip. We found a "doggie camp" for last year's cruise and our price tag was over $300. This year we have been very lucky and some friends from church have offered to dog sit. They don't have a dog and their kids would like one, so this is good for them too.
Welcome to the new folks, I am off to Target for a power strip and over the door shoe bags!

Michelle,

I bought my over the door shoe bag at dollar tree. It probably wouldn't pass an endurance test, but for just a week I think it will do. I also bought a pop-up laundry basket there, and they also carry laundry bags to haul everything to the laundry room in. Thought this might help.

Is anybody ordering from The Perfect Gift, or had experience with them? I'm interested in surprising the boys, but don't see anything that I'm getting a happy feeling about? :scratchin

Any ideas? Thanks!!

I've not used Shirley personally, but I understand that if you give her a call, she can work with you to get the sort of thing you want. Probably don't want to leave it too much longer though.
