I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to take the time to introduce myself & our gang. Cruising in our gang will be: me-LeiLani(42), DH-Rich(43), DD-Brittany(16), and DD-Alyssa(10). We are from Cedar Falls, Iowa. We are in cabin 8534 which is a Cat 3 and this is our 5th cruise. Also with us will be DH's parents - Charles(Chuck) & Pat(Las Vegas) and my parents - Charles(Chuck) & Nell(Niceville, Florida) and they are both on deck 6.

We are also meeting up with my daughters boyfriend's family and they are from Virginia Beach. The kids met each other on the 10 day Christmas cruise in 2004 and have kept up a long distance relationship this whole time. We are going on this cruise because the boyfriend(David) wanted to celebrate his 18th birthday in Cozumel and my daughter wanted to be on the cruise with him. But now I don't if we will be going to Cozumel so he might have to celebrate it in Costa Maya instead. I don't think it really matters.

The girls and I will be meeting David's family at WDW on the 5th and staying there until the cruise. We are all staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. So we hope to have some fun the week before the cruise.

I don't claim to be an expert about the cruise, but we have been several times so I do know quite a few things. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability.

We can't wait for this cruise and I look forward to talking to everyone as we wait for the time to go by.

Thanks so much for the welcome Laura. I am so excited to be talking with other DISers about a cruise again. When we were going on the 10 day Christmas cruise we had a big group of DISers and we talked to each other for a year and a half before we went on the cruise. We all felt like best friends by the time we met.

How I got my name is really not as fanciful as I wish. My Mom had an Uncle named Lonnie that she was really close too and when they thought I was going to be a boy that's what they were going to name me. But when I turned up a girl they had to do something else. So, she had a friend by the name LeiLani and that is what they chose. It's difinetly a different name but it is also a mouthful so I usually go by Lani.

Have you been on the Magic before? There is a waiter in Palo from Italy and his name is Marco. We love him and ask for him everytime we go if he is on board.

Welcome LeiLani. It is so much fun to talk with everyone and it will be nice to know people on board before we cruise. I am so hoping that we go to Cozumel because we have scheduled a "Royal Swim" with the dolphins and that only happens in Cozumel. I looked at the excursions for Costa Maya and they say they are very limited because I guess it is a "young" port. If we don't go I will have to get my money back from shoretrips, but they promised that would not be a problem.
I haven't gotten anything from Disney yet, but I did make all of our priority seating reservations for our 3 days in Disney. We did get the princess breakfast, and although my girls are 13 and 20, they still wanted to do that. Has anyone done the reserved seating for the MGM show with dinner? It would be good not to have to arrive 2 hours early, but if the seats are really bad, then we might cancel that one.
Today is sunny and finally above 50, which is making me thing of summer. My husband is still battling the infection in his knee after surgery and so we are especially looking forward to this much needed vacation.

Thanks Michelle. You are right it sure is great to talk to other cruisers. We did the Royal swim in Cozumel 2 years ago and it was pretty good. The water was rough that day so it was hard to keep your balance, but it was fun. We are going to try to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove this summer before the cruise.

We have done the Fantasmic dinner package several times. I do not think the seats are bad and it's great not having to stand in line or sit there for 2 hours. We usually go 30 minutes before the show and get a seat. The reserved seats for the dinner package is on the right hand side of the stadium. It is like the last 2 or 3 sections on that side. So if you want a center seat this is not it, but I don't think there is a bad seat in the stadium.

Sorry to hear your DH is having such a bad time with his knee. My DH is an orthopedic surgeon so I know that sometimes things just don't go as planned. Hopefully things will get better soon and you guys will have a blast on the cruise.

I am so excited!!! I stayed home today because I had heard that DCL was going to start making calls for people that had a request in so the 4th would not be so wild. Now I will have to start picking Laura's brain for information about that part of the world.

Thanks Laura. We are so excited about the cruise. I have several trips to plan between now and then but all I want to think about is the cruise next summer.

I need to get my head on straight and think about the cruise this summer first.

I will be picking your brain though on the sites to see in Italy. We are also thinking that since we are over there we might as well make it a 3 week vacation and see other parts of Europe.

I wanted to let everyone know that the girls and I will be at WDW August 5th - 12th(Villas at the Wilderness Lodge). David's family will also be there. If anyone else who is going to be there during that time wants to try and meet up let me know. We were just at WDW over spring break so we are going to try and make it a relaxing week.(Riiiiiiiiiiiight! ) We are going to try to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove one day and go to Sea World one day but most of the other days are free. On Friday I am taking my father-in-law to the Daytona Motor Speedway. We are both big NASCAR fans and he really wants to see that track. So I figured since we are close it was a good time. Too bad there's not a race going on.

I am going to Chicago with a few girlfriends this weekend, so I will probably not be back on the boards until Sunday night so everyone have a great weekend.

AWWW !!! Didn't notice !!!! Marco and I will be arriving from Ft. Lauderdale to OUR BEST LOVED RESORT WL on July 31st and staying there until embarkation day !!!!
A meet will be very very nice indeed !!! We can plan ... when we are closer to date !!!!
ALSO my best friend Beckie (and Terry) should come over to visit us ( with other good friends ) !!!!!!!!!! on the weekend before the cruise ...

Marco and I plan to do also lots of WDW attractions - this being our BIG annual vacation we dream about all year long !! - should also meet a friend from UK the day before our cruise !!!!!
This truly is going to be a full of EVENTS vacation !!!!! with tons of fun !!!!

Do you all like Whispering Canyon ??? we use to have at least one nice meal at Artist point each visit ... isn't their salmon mouthwatering ??! But Marco likes all the fun at WCC better !!!!

WE HAVE GOT our TRAVEL kit yesterday !!!!!
It is printed on ... old like paper as if it had travelled from far away ; it has info about shore excursions (DCL lists Cuzumel !!! on here ), tips for smooth sailing , gifts , getting sail and formal wear !!!

There is also a letter : we can start booking SHORE EXCURSIONS on 14-May-2006 !
