Got in lastnight...glad we had Friday as an extra day if we needed it...which we left because of the hurricane.
Three adults and kids ages 12, 6 and 5.
8/10- relatives were in Orlando so we went to MK that day (really needs to be saved to do last).
GET UP EARLY! Best advice. They had an opening day arrival by train with all the characters and the rope went down at 9am and we high tailed it to Space MT (everyone loved it)
(I will spare you the itenary but I followed the Unofficial Guide's adult 1 day plan.
Lunch was at PECOS BILL- THUMBS AY UP! Fixin bar of sauerkraut, grilled mushrooms and onion- etc. ($31 for 6)
Proceeded on plan. Fast pass worked great!!!! Used at splash Mt and RR.
Dinner at cosmic Ray's. The whole rotisserie chicken is gone so got three halfs at $7 a piece. Cosmic Ray is gone and no show.
Rode everything except Roto whirler things, carousel and dumbo's. Left park after fireworks (awesome) at 11 pm. Huge CROWD! Wanted to mention that cast members were awesome- kind nice- except my dh heard the ride attendant at Haunted mansion say "J--s--s Chr++st, don't these people ever F--in listen" about loading people. Dh told him he would report him if he didn't stop... I didn't hear him or I would have asked for someone right then or used my cell phone- but hey- who you gonna call?
8/11- we went to Universal studios (should have gone to IOA). Loud, trying to sell you stuff the moment you walk in (credit card) and wine sold right on the street! Lines were hot and long. We went home for lunch and dinner this time. Touring plan worked great- no line at BTTFuture, MIB or Jaws. Express stinks! Lines for them! Did not see MUmmy or Shrek or studios...had enough 3d. Encounter a few grupmy employees and could not get an answer from the girl about buying a book of express ("How much")...told us she was "busy" and then finally answered oh 37 additional each..
8/12/04- MGM- waaay over Universal's heads! Awesome! High tailed at opening to TOT- awesome! 5 yr old scared...6 yr old loved and wanted to ride again. Did baby swap at Rock n Rollercoaster and was given Fast Pass swap for 3 (2 of these). AWESOME! Was looking like hurricane or rain moved in so stayed and ate lunch at Backlot- which was wa=aay below pecos Bill- bar was mostly ketchup- no fixins. Last thing of the day I was picked at the backlot tour for the mechanic scene- cool- kids loved it!!! Did encounter rude woman with kids at Mermaid show who stepped in front of me (was following hubby and son) and told her kids to hurry up (put her one arm out and waved em with other) so they could get the middle..proceeded to sit in the middle (when told to go over and split our family up...so they moved down the three seats and we climbed over them. Her 12-13 yr old says to my 62 yr old dad- well the least you can say is excuse me. Well- my Dad told him nicely he should learn some manners and his mother waved him down the aisle...
Saw everything except Millionaire-as no one wanted to.
Brought Crystal light and gatorade mix and figure it saved us $50 in drinks. (Had a tummy pack). I also made t-shirts for the crew before we left in bright colors and got Mickey, Tinkerbelle- etc- patches and sewed them to our shirts. We were hoping on using them for character signatures (got fabric pens- narrow) but characters are not allowed to sign something ON YOUR BODY! So we used the matching hats...dd is so cute! Made it easy to spot everyone- others knew we were together and so did cast members. We got a lot of comments and only saw one other group do this (church group of like 30 people).
HTHS!
Wanted to add:
We spent an average of about $110 per person per day. (this includes traveling, food lodging and tickets ...everything).
I also spent about $110 on the 3 sets of tshirts/hats (and fabric markers) for 6 (18 total). I did bring the Crystal light, gatorade, munchies/pop for the road (as well as lunch sandwich stuff) and snack food for the tummy packs- down. An additional $50 on that stuff. Averaging in that- it comes to about $119 per day...not bad!
