After looking at a different poster the poster talked about doing a split trip to take advantage of FOTLP.

We to are planning for aug 2012 and my question is how busy will it be would we need FOTLP pass.

Think I will have a look at doing a split trip what is everyone's experience.

Thanks again

We generally go late July early August and its very busy, we now book a stay at HRH and take advantage of FOTLP.

Alright mate, might have been my post you were looking at. :thumbsup2

I guess it depends when in August you're on about going, to be honest, we're going right at the end of August so it's a bit of an extravagance, the main benefit being the location of the hotels for when the kids get tired. Realistically, we could stay offsite and ensure we were in for opening and do the main rides before the crowds arrived, but after our super-relaxing holiday at OKW last year, we've realised that the chilled out approach is the best to hit Orlando with!

If you're off beginning or mid August, then I would say that it would be more of a requisite. :confused3

I think, if you are planning on visiting at the end of August, as has already been said, you probably won't need the FOTL pass. We went last August (26th) and stayed at RPR but, to be honest, the lines were pretty short nearly every day. The only places where the FOTL would have been useful were Forbidden Journey (IOA) and Rip Ride Rocket (Universal), both rides where there is no Express line anyway.

If you do decide on a split stay, remember you get FTL on both the day you check in and the day you check out so you may only need one or two nights to get full advantage. Last August, they were offering a very good rate with excellent discounts the more nights you booked so that may be worth checking out for a longer stay if you decide to go for it.

I am just considering booking RPR for late August, I already have a hotel reserved but it was free using airmiles that were going to expire.
They have just released an annual pass rate from $139/night in August.
Stayed there last year and didn't really feel it was worth the money $152+tax+internet+parking
FOTL probably won't save us much time later in August, we enjoyed getting into WWoHP early & its nice having a meal in Finnegan's and having a few drinks without having to drive.
Don't know what to do, might just give it another chance, will sleep on it and decide tomorrow.

We stayed at RPR last July, and we found that if you were in the parks at or close to opening, quite a lot of the rides that were open had minimal queues. For example, men in Black was virtually walk-on until midday as was The Simpsons. As more rides opened, the park did tend to get busier and by midday, queues were up (and over!!) an hour for the popular rides - by that time we were defnitely glad of FOTL.

As noted above, a one night on-site stay would get you two days FOTL should you decide to go for it. I would suggest that in late August, two days should be more than enough to do all of the headline rides with FOTL. You could then always return for a few additional visits getting there early and leaving at midday/lunch time depending on the crowds/queues.
