I am just looking ahead for next year for our WDW trip. Originally was planning first week of June, but DD just found out she got accepted into nursing school, so now that won't work. (which we are very proud of)

Is there much difference in going the first week of June and the first week of Aug (DS usually starts back 2nd week of Aug). I want my DD to be able to go with us next year, but she will be in school in June. Also, trying to go when DS is out. She has a break between May and June, second and third week of May, but that would mean taking DS out of school for a week (7th grade) we have never taken the kids out of school for a week. WWYD?

Sorry, had to fix my title. If we do June, then DD can't go (which may end up what we have to do and just plan another trip when she finishes school)

First week of August will be more crowded than first week of June (and hotter).

Mid-May will be better on both fronts (weather and crowds).

Up to you whether it is worth it.

I think I would go with 1st week of June. It will be less crowded than 1st week of August and likely not quite as hot. I would be reluctant to take a 7th grader out of school for a week, but only you know your child best and if that would have a big negative impact or not.

first week of August is peak summer vacation. Worst of all worlds.... boiling hot and very crowded. The first week of June would be my pick - but only because my dd wouldn't do well missing school at this point.
If your sons grades are good and you're in a school district that is ok with it, I'd talk to him about it and see how he feels about missing class.

We took our kids out of school for 4 days for our trip in May because of my vacation schedule and will not do it again. They missed too much even though it was the end of the year. One day maybe but no more than that. We normally go the second or third week in June and never found it to be too crowded, but the weather is the weather and you just never know what to expect. Friends have told me the last week in August is not bad.
