Aug. 5th, 2006 - Eastern Magic!!!

Well, Kathy...you had me fooled. You look great! All along, I'm imagining you as a little old gray haired lady. I guess just because of your screen name. Hmmm... talk about stereotyping!! Although there is a girl that lives next door to me that is 2 years younger than me and just became a grandma.

Dianna, welcome, and we will be praying for your son to be o.k. Hope he's fine and able to have a great time on the cruise.

It just hit me that we will already be in FL when we leave for the cruise. We usually have such an early flight and have to get up at 4 a.m. Sat. morning, then are pretty wiped out for the first day of the cruise. Although I never remember ever taking a nap. We must just always be running on adrenaline.

I've already warned my DH, Rob, that the stress will probably start kicking in and the bickering will start. He said it's already kicked in for him and that he knows we'll be fighting at dinner because he'll take the baby away from the table, etc. He's VERY cautious or overprotective. Not really of her, but if she fusses at all, he's outta there w/ her so as not to bother anyone. Which is good, but she's a pretty good kid for the most part, and he just overreacts. We'll see how it goes. I usually stress out because of cancelling the mail, paper, paying the bills, finishing up my loose ends at work, packing, etc. He just takes it all in and doesn't do anything. I need to start delegating. I think it was Marcie that said about cleaning before leaving. My b-i-l is complete opposite of his brother Rob, about neatness. His favorite day is garbage day, and my DH hasn't thrown out a magazine since 1974. For real! (he's a big time collector!) Anyhow, I'm sure they'll be peaking in rooms to stare in astonishment at his collections! So, we're trying to get everything cleaned up before we leave. On our last cruise, I was emptying the fridge and put a casserole down the drain into the garbage disposal and ended up clogging the drain...Grrr...one more thing to worry about. When we came home, it was unclogged. Whew!

I'm posting this pic of us from Christmas. Ava is 6 mos. older and her hair is longer. My hair will probably either be in a ponytail or pulled up, so I won't have that big mop. Plus I just got it cut a little yest. Rob looks exactly the same.

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking around the board for a while and I just found this thread. My family, Me(17), Ruth(DM 56), Peter(DD 69), and are going on this cruise as well. We are going with our friends from Japan, Larry(64), Masami(50), and Ricky(9). This is my first cruise and everyone elses first Diseny cruise, so we're all really excited. :cool1: This is actually my first post too.

Welcome Stephanie. My DD just made her a Dis name yesterday. Maybe she will post on our thread soon. She is only 12 though, but I hope she can make some friends on the cruise. I will put you on the first page. Are your friends from Japan the ones that already posted before?

Tara, thanks for reminding me to clean out the fridge. :rotfl2: Yea I could use some cleaning skills and I'm a pack rat. But, that's okay, the world needs all kinds. :rotfl: :rotfl2: And, I agree about Kathy. I thought she was a little old grey haired lady. I was wrong. Kathy you don't look old enough to be a grandma to teenagers. :goodvibes Don't worry about your hair either, I'm sure mine is messed up in half our vacation pictures.

Wow!!
I feel a few years younger!!! :cloud9: Maybe I should of posted a picture of my mom, then I could really surprise you on the ship!! :rotfl2:
My DH has all the grey hair so far, but I do have some they just dont show up in the pictures because of the hat!! Plus wrinkles dont show in the pic either.

:welcome: Stephanie and your family!!!

I hope you will all come to our cruise meet. It is the first day at 3 p.m. in the Promenade lounge. It is very informal. Just a chance to say Hi in person before we cruise. then we can spot each other all over the ship during the week. You can look for other teens there too. my GD will be 15 will be there, I hope unless she is already oin the stack. She has cruised twice before so she knows her way around.
Be sure and invite all your friends and family to come too!!! We want everyone to be there, even if it's just for 5 minutes.

looking forward to meeting you,
Kathy

Tara, loved the picture!!!!!

Here is a picture of Marie and her family. (Campcoach) This was taken at Universal studios.

Hello all!!!

Still doing our best to prepare for the cruise. While I'm in the middle of trying to finish my term paper and get ready for the final, Thekla is in the middle of a move. My DS? Oblivious.

We are scheduled to arrive at Orlando International at 12:30 pm. We'll be able to make the 3 PM meet, right? I mean, after check in and all.

I don't have a picture of Thekla, but here is a picture of me and my DS (we were playing around one day with the camera).

***Well, I tried to post a pic, but DIS says I don't have enough posts yet. Anyone know how many I need before I can post a url?***

My hair will be different though -- it'll be in twists (makes life easier during a week of water, sun and fun).

Anyone have any suggestions for me for anything??? LOL!! I'm beginning to get a lil nervous with this excitement. I'll have my camera and video camera. An extra memory card. No need for underwater camera, I can't swim. I think we are pretty straight on the clothes and accessories. *smile* Please help me out, guys.

I'm so excited that everyone is getting revved up and prepared. I feel like I'm dangling out there a bit. *smile*

Its hump day . . .and I've got class tonight. How bad would it be that while my professor is talking about Lowell and other post-modern poets . . . that I just may be daydreaming about Disney Magic?

Later!!!

Stephani

Stephani,
if your luggage isnt delayed you should make the meet ok. The port is about an hour from the airport and check in is quick. By the time you get checked in there shouldnt be any line at all, you will just walk right on. Once you do they usually direct you to the left hallway which will take you right to the Promenade lounge, I will be there at 3 and probably stay there until 3:45, so please come and say HI!!
Not sure how many posts you need to do a picture. I willl look and see if I can find that info and let you know.

Kathy

Stephani,

I had the same posting problem the first time I tried to post a pic. You need 10 posts. One of the boards suggested going to the birthday thread and posting a few "Happy Birthdays"...but since you're so close...I'm sure none of us would mind a few mindless, consecutive posts from you in order to meet your quota.

I dropped off all the drycleaning for the cruise on the way home. Geez! It was a handful...it's going to cost a fortune!

One of the kitties was MIA for a few hours today! We found her curled up under the center "leg" of the kitchen table. Yes, she's that small that we couldn't even see her!!

Well, I'm off to pack a little.

Have a good night.

We finally got our docs!!!!! Are we the last?? It's a small package since we did the online registering. I am excited now. Time to pack. :rotfl2:

Marcie, we did not do the online registration yet, and our packet was smaller than usual too. I think they used to send a booklet for each person, and this time we only got one. Glad ya got them.

Oh okay so they are just smaller now. But, the reason I said about the online registering it came with a letter that said since we did the online registering that we only need to fill out the bahama form and bring the contracts we printed out signed. That's pretty much all there is and the luggage tags. :goodvibes

Mary,
I am putting names to pictures and discovered I cant find any posts even on the first page with your DH's name. I'm sure I just missed it somewhere???
But please, what is his name???
Thanks,
kathy

I am sorry, I probably never told anyone. But it's David. :thumbsup2

Welcome to all the new families. It is finally getting down to the wire. The sad thing is that the summer is almost gone

Dianne my prayers are with your family and your son. I can only imagine what emotions you are going through. Your constant faith will help guide you through these rough times.

Congrats Marcie on your docs!! :cheer2: I know that you have been waiting a long time for those to come.

great pictures so far. This will help us out at the DIS meet. :woohoo:

OK . . . here's for a try at the picture post:

Kathy -- Thanks for the info -- hopefully our luggage won't be a problem. The three of us (Me, Tashan (DS - who will be 10 on our last day on the ship) and Thekla (Tashan's grandmother) will definitely slide through the promenade for a greeting.

Stephanie -- Welcome to you and yours!!! I LOVE your name, by the way. :thumbsup2

Leslie -- thanks for the tips and congrats on the two new additions to your family!!!

I may need you guys to help me with the names and face matches a bit as I'm not able to get on here that often to scroll through and make all the connections. I'm going to try my best though!!!

Well - I just got in from class and need to get ready for work tomorrow.

As of my watch now . . . we've got 9 days, 16 hours and 49 minutes until we set sail! WOOHOO!

Have a great eve everyone!!!

Stephani

Well, since we had trouble with the last picture that was posted I will try this again. He is the picture my family. Let me know if this on works.

hi everyone,

i just found this particular area on the disboards. my husband and i are
scheduled to be on this cruise also. if everything goes okay, we will be
celebrating our 20th anniversary on the cruise. our 11 ds was diagnosed
with a coronary anuryseum last thursday. he is scheduled for more

I pray that they can't find the anuryseum when we go back. for all you

Time to party!!!!!

Great pictures everyone. I have been rpinting them off and putting your names on them so maybe I can recognise you even before the meet if I see you in the terminal or around the ship!! :thumbsup2

Mary thanks for the name, I needed it to put by his picture in case I see him on the ship. It will be easy for mw to remember, I have a brother named David.

We are going to register on line tonight too. Your check in is a lot faster when you do this. :thumbsup2

Anybody getting to the terminal early like us?? Let me know and I will look for you.
