I need to order my DH one. I think I am going to get him a combination of his favorites: Dr. Pepper, Bud Light, Dots and Cashews. I think I will see if Shirley can put it in a bucket of some kind. That way we can just keep putting ice in it to keep things cold.

Question...will this be weird for Pirate night? I forgot I bought my DD21mos a cute little Halloween dress at Walmart for $2 last Oct. for this year. It's like a maiden dress w/ corset type tie up front, black netting for the arms, black netting over the skirt, BUT has spiders and webs in the netting and the body of it is orange!! I put it on her today and she went crazy in it. Running around all excited! I think it'll be fine, except for the fact that it is orange. I pulled out my red and black vampira type dress and I think now I may be getting into Pirate night. I just don't know what to put on Ava's head or face.

Also very exciting AVA SAID HER FIRST TWO WORD SENTENCE!!! Guess what it was???? Gibberish, gibberish, MOUSE SLEEPY!!! Yes, THAT mouse!! She's been addicted to the Disney.com website and the live shows on DCL.com. So after looking for a half hour last night I told her that Mickey had to go to sleep for the night. About 15 minutes later while sitting on the potty, she said Mouse sleepy!! Too funny! WHAT have we created!! She'll be so excited onboard!

I didn't even think about the cruise docs today when FedEx rang the doorbell. It actually was something related. A belated Mother's Day gift from DH. The Birnbaum's DCL 2006 guide book. Ava already delved through it looking at the mouse!!! I can't wait to read it myself!

Tara,
at dinner your DD will receive a pirate bandana to wear if she wants. all of you will get this towards the end of dinner. so if you dont find something before the cruise, you will have that for her. They also have face painting so kids look like they have an eye patch of mustache for pirate night. Not sure of the cost, but saw tons of kids last time with their faces painted, so cant be too expensive.

Minnie is doing great. he has learned to use her doggie door all by herself and is house trained too. She trained easier than any pet we have ever had!! Only one scolding when she pee'd on the carpet and that was it, she has gone outside since then. AllI did was tell her what a bad dog she was and pointed at it an d put her outside.
In September I am taking her to a doggie training class to learn to walk properly on the leash so we can go for walks, plus to sit and stay and to come when I call. It is a 6 week course so have to sneak it in between this cruise and the next one in November. She was terrified of a kitten at the grooming place yesterday. Kind of embarassing for me
My dog was afraid of a tiny kitten when it meowed at her???
Maybe she hasnt ever encountered a kitten before, I dont know. I told my DH he can take her next time

Kathy, that's good news about Minnie. Maybe she was already housebroken at some point. I saw a cute little hat on the website that someone posted that was only a couple of bucks. It looks like it is outlined in yellow, so it would go w/ her orange dress. This dress comes w/ a little witch hat that she did manage to keep on for a little, but she's usually not real keen on keeping her hats on. You can have some of our rain! We have flood warnings all over here in Ohio!

Just booked Radisson Resort at the Port for Friday night before the cruise. Anyone else staying there that night? If anyone is looking for a place to stay, I actually got a better rate by booking directly with Radisson than any rate I saw online. Just an FYI.

So what seating does everyone have for dinner? We have the early seating, which is a first for us. We've always booked too close and have had to take the late seating. Last year my son was falling asleep at the table almost every night. We are doing Palo brunch on Monday and the Palo high tea on Thursday.

We have the early seating too. We did the last cruise too. We are early eaters and it really worked out great. The only thing is you have to be dressed early, last time I had wished we could stay out in port later. But, other then that I love eating early.

It's hard to believe another week is almost overwith!!

is really going fast.
I did finish 2 door signs yesterday.
Nothing fancy,but they are cute. At least it will help to find our door late at night.
Anyone have plans this weekend?

I hope to go to MK this weekend to check out the revamped Pirates ride.
I also hope our oldest son will go there and meet us for a few hours to visit. He lives 80 miles from us,so I dont see him often. WDW makes a nice 1/2 way point to meet at. He has an annual pass too.

Lots of sun again this morning, hope we get some more rain today,we really need it!!

My DH asked me to call the perfect gift back and add yoohoo's to our basket. He loves those, and boy do they bring back memories of being a kid. This time I got the pleasure of talking to Shirley herself, and as always I really enjoyed talking to her. She is a special lady.

Well, I'm new here and don't even know where to begin, but I'm UNDENIABLY thrilled to go on this cruise. There are three in my party --> as I'm not familiar with the acronyms and such, I'll just give you a little run down. There's me (single mom, 30), my son's grandmother and one of my best friends (she's single and will kill me if I tell her age), and my son who's 9. This is my birthday gift to the both of them. My son's birthday is August 12th and his grandmother's is September 23rd. She's a serious Disney fanatic.

So - any tips, thoughts, ideas on every possible aspect of this thing are more than welcomed. Please school me on the theme nights. Do I have to go out and buy costumes? Are there any singles events? Are there many singles at all -- besides women? *smile* I look foward to responses!!!

I am glad you found us and that you are going on the cruise!!! I will add you to the list on the first page. We are having a short meet at 3 p.m. on the day we board in the promanade lounge. It's an open lounge, kids can go there. I know how hard it is to figure everything out when you first get on the ship but I hope you can make it.

Pirate night is on Tuesday, the same day as St. Martin. A lof of people don't dress up or wear tropical wear that night. Other people go all out and dress like pirates. I got my daughter a pirate t-shirt and a skirt and I am doing tropical wear.

We are growing quite a bit lately. Happy to have all of you with us!!

We have a 12 year old grandson with us, he may be in some of the same lab stuff as your 9 year old.
I too, hope you will make it to the meet. Once we know faces it will be great fun to see each other all over the ship and say Howdy and see what everyone has been up to.

Usually in your Navigator they will have a singles meet within the first 24 hours, so keep an eye out for it. I have seen in about 6 or 7 times when we have cruised, a few times I didnt. But not really looking for it as I am married.
This cruise is me, DH, oldest daughter, her DH, 2 grandkids, Ana 15, Andy 12.
You notice I didnt give our age or DD's age!
I dont think I can count that high any more???
But I am a BIG KID at heart and that's what counts. I am a disney fanatic too, so I should get along great with grandma from your group.

Well we are one week closer to our cruise

I am hoping to find a couple of summer tops for the cruise, but I found ZIP!!!
You would think in Florida in the summer there would be a great selection of cool tops.
If I were 16 and wanted to show my stomach or bust line there would be plenty. However at my age, there is too much stomach and not enough left of "You know what?"

Where are the old lady blouses at??

I will try again next week. I always start at the lowest priced stores and work my way up to the more expensive stores, hoping to find stuff before getting to the more expensive places.
Anybody else still looking for some clothes for the cruise??

I'm taking my DD shopping for sunglasses and a watch tomorrow, and school clothes too since she starts school right after the cruise. I am going to be on the lookout for some capris but if I don't find any than I'll be okay. I already have a black pair, i just wanted a white or kakki pair. My counter went into the teens today!!!!!

Grrrr...I am still in BIG trouble on a return flight. I swear they usually add flights on return, but right now it's $402 a person for 1 way!!! Yes, I'm an idiot. We live 15 min. from the Akr/Can airport so that's what I'm looking for. I guess now they let you come into different places or I can even try to book a different airline. We may have to stay in Orlando forever!!

We found a Disney video at the library last night, and all Ava keeps saying is, "Mouse, mouse!"

We're pretty much set w/ clothes, but we could always use more. I hit a little lull in the real estate business, although I did sell one this week, but now I'm getting nervous. I'd like to go on vac. and not have to worry about where my next paycheck is coming from. The good news is I sold down on all my listings but 1, so now I'm working on building my inventory back up.

Whew, I got a good deal on a Delta flight out at 12:50. I think that's the flight we always take, because we never really have to wait too long at the airport. Just long enough to grab something to eat at the disgusting food court. Well, under normal circumstances it wouldn't be disgusting, but after being totally pampered on the cruise, then having someone grumble something to you or barely say a word when they hand you your food. Then there's usually ketchup splattered on a wall somewhere!!! lol! I'm usually not too picky, but you definitely know you are not in la-la land anymore!!!

I'm sure since we live so close it only takes a day to arrive here.
Within the next 3 or 4 days everyone will have them I'm sure!!

Ours came UPS.
Going to be 95 today plus high humidity. Just going to get ready for company today. DD and family will be here on the 29th. Then NO cruise talk around here, so we can surprise the grandkids. But I will still chat on line, just cant say anything in front of the GK's.
I hope to find a couple of blouses this week, wish me luck, I need it!!!
