Even if you do online check in you can request they change your room if you don't like the location
Thanks Chiara - I am so worried about that. I know that location isn't too much of a big deal at FQ... But I really want to be on the side of the resort that the bus stop is on... So, I don't care if it's bldg 4,5,6 or 7. LOL But I really loved overlooking the courtyard where the movies play, the girls went out there almost every night to watch.

This is good to know. I have never done on-line check in. For my brother's first trip I think it worked out well not doing it. We were upgraded to a preferred room at ASSports (I think because it was noted as their first trip in the reservation so it was probably set before we got there). But the kids were given a VERY warm Disney welcome. At check in my brother requested a roll away bed which they comped. I'm always afraid to do on-line check in because I fear the line will be really long. We've never had to wait more then a few minutes to check in so I don't mind waiting in the regular line. But I always debate with myself.
I've never had any problems checking in... LOL But I've only stayed on property once. I had my choice of 3 different CMs when I did check in - no line at all...
Scrump came out perfect. I just went back and looked at all your bags again and the details are amazing, as usual. I can see why the appliques are your favorite part, your creativity really shows but you are so good at adding the little details that make your bags so unique and fabulous.

The GAC with Scump is really cute! Funny thing though when I read the title I thought it said Scamp and was really confused for a minute because I was expecting a dog on it! Guess I haven't had enough caffeine yet this morning.

As for online check in, I've done it the last two trips. On my trip with Mom, we did not get our room request but that was because Pop Warner was checking in towards the end of the week and my request was the same building they were going to be staying in. But I asked nicely if the CM could get us in a different building close to the one I wanted and he was able to do that. It just took a few extra minutes. On my solo trip, I got the section I requested. I think the biggest advantage of online check in is that they know approximately what time you are going to get there. I believe this gives you a greater chance of having a room ready for you. Maybe you could do the online check in and then call and make sure your room request is still on the reservation?
I honestly don't even know how online check in works with having a travel agent??? Can I do that - or does she have to - or can I not do it at all?
Oh and I don't think I've commented on the retro pictures lately but I have really been enjoying them. Seeing them has given me an idea for my October PTR. I'm not going to start that one till I have concrete dates and know for sure that I can get off of work.

I never thought I needed a GAC holder. I blame you, because you added another thing to my list that I need. I want one. I love the theme of the bags. My kids and I are trying to guess what comes next. One guessed Cars and the other guessed Up. The third is in Texas still, so he didn't have a guess.

I am torn about online check-in as well. I think that because it is my first time there, I should just do regular line. However, we don't really have any requests about the room other than the daybed, so I might just do it.

I've done on-line check-in the last 2 times we've gone with no problems, however, I did not make any specific room requests. FWIW....
I will probably just do it - if I can - and see if I can get something better once we get there.
Kat update - the meds they gave for the colitis were not totally effective, so the heart procedure has been put off until possible next week or the week after. She received another 2 units of blood yesterday. They are going to try the meds again this week. Her spirits remain high. She now has feeling in her right side and the leg movements are improving, not so much in the hand - yet. Still has aphasia and substitutes words, sometimes very inappropriately, but it is also improving. Still a long road ahead...
It seems like some things are goig really well for her and others aren't... I sure hope that everything falls into place for her soon. My continued prayers go out to her and the rest of the family. Thank you for continuing to update.

Yes, I might have to - I hate to say it... But it is just crazy - I will see how it goes. If I have the time, I will certainily do it - or do something. I am sure I will need the $$ by the trip.
As far as online check in, I've done it every time since they've offered it. I have never gotten a room request I've made yet. With or without online check in. I do know that if the type of room you want is available, they're pretty good about giving it to you. and Chaira was right, they will change it if it's available and you've done online check in.
I know - but it just seems like everyone who has done it has had to stand there forever to get it accomplished.
I think the new ADR type fastpass is supposed to work in combination with the current fastpass, at lease at first. Rumors have it that they will gradually phase out the old system in favor of the new one. I don't see that happening. But that's just me. Maybe even wishful thinking. I don't know. I guess I'll just wait and see what it's all about, how it's going to work (or not work), and go from there. I too hope the launch misses your trip. You have enough to think about without adding ride ADRs!!
I know - I hope they do it during a low crowd season...

Yesterday was insane...
I am a bit freaky about the girls riding in cars with other teens/young adults. I see and hear of sooo many kids being in accidents - and now there are laws in MN trying to prevent this. This is one of those things that I just can't budge on.
So, when I was planning Victoria's Show Choir camp this summer, we were able to coordinate with another local girl and her family... They would drive one direction, I would drive the other. Well, in talking to her mom the other day - trying to finalize plans for who would drive when - she said that her college age son would be driving.
I explained to her that I had an issue with that - but as long as he was a careful and responsible driver - I would be OK with it... After all - he is 21, so he should be a little more responsible??? Right???
So, I was working out yesterday morning, and all of a sudden I heard an engine "gun it" and I looked out the window - there was a white pick-up racing down our road - about to hit gravel at about 60 mph~! My adrenaline was already gushing - so I ran out of my office and asked Alli if he drove a white pick-up... Sure enough. I was soooo ANGRY!!! I immediately called his mother... First asked her to call him and tell him to slow down... Then I told her that V would no longer be riding with her son - clearly he is very irresponsible, if he can't even have the decency to drive normally with someone else's child in the car. Really - I was so mad. So, about 30 minutes later, she called me back... She apologized that she was in a meeting when I had called her earlier and couldn't talk... I also apologized if I had been rude. Anyways, after we talked for a little bit... I am now driving BOTH girls BOTH directions... Which means TWO trips to town and TWO trips back each day - which means TWO hours out of my day driving... GRRR... I dont' know how I am going to get any work done???
But - at least my child will be safe. To top if off - after we'd dropped her friend off yesterday, V told me that the boy hadn't even allowed her to close her door and buckle before he took off like that... So she wasn't even BUCKLED IN!!!!!!!!!!
