First want to say Ruthie is Def. in my prayers...
POOR KID!!! This is terrible news i am so sorry.. Can't have anything nice anymore.. I can rant about this forever.. the little ********... I bleeped myself..
The new Mickey is my Favorite... Yeah i say that on every bag... BUT I LOVE IT!! love the color love EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the prayers for RuthIE... I will update below.
I will also do an Alli update below.
I will keep Ruthie in my prayers.
That is just awful about what happened to Alli. I seriously don't understand what some kids are thinking when they pull stints like this. I hope her coat is recovered and that the culprits are found.
Have a great day.
Thank Kathy... I will do an Alli update below.
Poor Allie. It's a shame that you can't have nice clothes in school. I hope she gets her jacket back as well.
I know... Grrr... I will update the situation below.
Prayers for Ruthie! I hope she is feeling better soon.
Reading about what happened to Alli made me mad!

It's horrible what kids can do to each other. I hope they catch whoever did it and she gets her coat back.
I know, I agree... I will do an update below.
OMGoodness!!! That would p**s me off too! So frustrating! We are like you, we very rarely get really nice things, so when we do they are SPECIAL and we take extra care of them to be able to use then for a loooong time. Poor Alli! She has had such a rough school year this year!

Big ((HUGS)) to her!
Exactly... And this is one of the reasons I am so angry about it. My girls are fortunate - they do have a lot of nice things... But that's because I am thrifty, and I am the one stalking the uber clearance racks at the name brand stores to get them nice things - and 99% of the time, it's cheaper than Target clearance. But, like you, we work very hard to be able to give our kids extra things... And even though her grandparents gave her $$ for the coat last year - that coat was supposed to last through high school. Thankfully - it is a good time of year to replace a winter coat, but unfortunately, we are in the middle of a windchill warning, so she really needs a coat NOW, and not in a few days because I want to see if her coat is returned to her before I go out and buy one.
Praying for our friend RuthIE! Praying that God will send friends to help her and take care of her in her time of need!
Thank you... I will update on RuthIE below.
Now aren't you glad MM is such a little stinker

I'm glad you were able to get back her boots! Hopefully they'll be able to figure out who took them and get her jacket back!
Yes, I am glad he is a little stinker.

I hope so too - I will do an update below.
Omg awful! I totally nderstand how alli feels. When I was a bit older than she is. I bought a personal "discmAn" cd player. I bought it with my first pay cheque from my first job and a couple weeks later it was stolen from work by a coworker. So upset! I never got it back.
It's hard to learn that friends really can't be trusted sometimes.
That is awful! And yes, a very hard lesson to learn.
OMG I just read the story about what happened at school....that is INSANE! I mean what would she have put on her feet to leave that day?? And I sure hope they catch the person responsible for it. I can't wait to hear what they say about the coat. Is her name in it or anything to identify it as hers just in case? I would be LIVID!!
EXACTLY!!!! I was raging about this to my bff yesterday... I was so mad... I mean seriously - how was she even supposed to get home? Nothing to put on her feet and no coat - it was -10° - soooo STUPID! And the really stupid thing - is Alli doesn't have small feet... She wears a size 11 shoe - odds are, they just took the boots because they were nice boots and didn't check the size - I'll betcha that they would have been useless to them anyways, and they would have had to dump them somewhere because they couldn't keep them on their feet.
Unfortunately - there is nothing in the coat to identify it.
In all honesty - I just don't think to do things like that anymore... However, that's changed now... Poor V now has her name in everything - and Alli will too, just as soon as I have something to write her name into.
[I'll keep RuthIE in my thoughts too. Don't know the details but I cannot imagine. I hope she's okay.
Thank you, I will do an update below.
keeping Ruthie in my prayers and hopefully she can find someone to help with her animals!
sorry to hear about the theft at school, hope her coat shows up! sad when kids have to steal from each other
Thank you... I will update about RuthIE and Alli below.
Many prayers for RuthIE and all her animals.
This is what I don't get about teenagers .. . All for a pair of shoes and a jacket. And I'm sure it wasn't because they were cold.
Exactly!
Now for the fun stuff...I'm a simple girl and like the new bag a lot. And, as always, you inspire me. Just what I need with, 5 started or planned projects in my sight.
Here's to much better things coming to all. And Soon!
Glad you like it! I can't wait to see your projects!
Thoughts, prayers, and pixie dust being sent to Ruthie. Hope she can have a speedy recovery and someone can help with the animals.
And poor Ali. That just makes me sad. Not only is it the theft of her things, but the mean spiritedness of teenage girls that is even worse. Thank goodness for MM chewing on the boot, so it could be proved to be hers.
And on a happy note.....I love the bag!!!!!!! But I really do like Sorcerer Mickey!
Thanks! I will do an Alli and RuthIE update below.
And I am in a sewing funk too, not that I have been sewing long enough to be in a funk. I have a lot of ideas, which makes me scared that I can't get enough done. I have outfits/shirts planned for our trip and the days go too fast, especially when I work all week. And I am soo far behind on the Disbou thread, I feel terrible. But need to catch up soon so I can post the dress I made for my Niece for her trip to dw. She should be wearing it Saturday, I still don't know how it fits her.
Well enough rambling, sorry to hijack. Enjoy your day!
No worries about hijacking...
Do you have a list? SOmetimes it helps me to prioritize... And if I see it written down, it's easier to keep track of and I can cross it off when I am done.
Can't wait tos ee the dress you made for your neice.
Thanks for the

! I feel for Alli, its terrible that some kids feel "entitled" to steal from others. My youngest dd, Shannon, bought herself an iphone and had it in her purse in her locker at work (she worked at a Skechers in NYC). One of her coworkers stole the phone from her purse. She never did get it back, and the manager wouldn't do anything about it when it happened.
I would be so LIVID about this too! And how awful that no one did anything about it. That is one thing that I think Apple should really get on the ball about, giving some sort of identifying feature to it, so if someone reports it stolen, it's disabled from getting any updates and such.
I don't know if I'll get to the sewing room this weekend, since we are having a Super Bowl party on Sunday. My beloved Ravens are playing!
OOoh - fun... I really don't like football at all, but I like parties - so it's all good.
My niece and her dh are going to WDW in April, when she has spring break (she teaches high school Spanish in Virginia) and taking their son for his first trip. I'm thinking about trying my hand at some applique on some onsies for him. He will be 11 months old when they go and is just a little cutie!
Awww... That sounds adorable! I hope you'll post them when you are done.
Saying prayers for RuthIE and hope she can recover quickly!!
I think the worst thing about the incident at school is the effect it would have on Ali emotionally. After all she's been through this year, to have someone "violate" her personal things is just too much! Unfortunately, it isn't terribly shocking to have things stolen at school. Just so sad. I'm sure you'll be on soon to update us in terms of what the school is doing about this. I hope Ali will be getting her coat back as well.
Thanks Lois. Yes - that is a big part of it. She no longer has any trust for her peers, and I really can't blame her... It has been a very rough year for her... I plan to update below.

First of all - I want to thank you all for your prayers for RuthIE... I did get to text with her for a little while yesterday, with out divulging too much info - she is in a LOT of excruciating pain. Your continued prayers for her and all of the things I mentioned yesterday would be greatly appreciated - I know that she is very thankful that she has so many people who care about her.

Alli update...
As it turns out - the lady who broke into the locker for Alli the other day was one of the Vice Principals... I found that out when I had to contact her again about Alli's coat. I did not hear anything at all yesterday again about it. So, when Alli got off the bus, with out her coat, I asked her if she heard anything - and not a word. So, I typed up an email and sent it off to the Vice Principal asking for an update. She emailed me back saying that she was going to review the security tapes last night, and that Alli should probably talk with her "own" Vice Principal today.

I am pretty sure that they have washed their hands of it.
Allison also told me that the Gym teachers have been making announcements during each class - giving a description of the missing items. Most people give rewards so that kids have an incentive to "tell", but I refuse to give a reward out to someone who stole something. I would rather just go and buy Alli a new jacket.
Yesterday, she had to wear V's winter coat to school... Thankfully, we gave V a Carhartt coat for Christmas - so she has a spare winter coat. It's definately a size (or two) too small for Allison - but at least it's warm. We are in a windchill warning this morning and right now it's -40° out there - she can get frostbite in less that 10 minutes at these temperatures.
I do not think, at this point that we will get her coat back. I am very angry about it - and just sick that kids are so STUPID and disrespectful! And it makes me even more angry that there are parents out there that don't teach their kids respect for other's property and well being - and when your child suddenly shows up with a Northface winter coat - which you know isn't cheap... Question them about it. Sheesh!
I've started shopping for a new coat for Alli - I will give it a couple more days... but it's so cold here now, she can't be with out one for long. I have one in my cart that I can buy, and it's a reasonable price because of the end of the season. But I am still mad that we have to go through all of this.

I spent the entire day in my sewing room yesterday...
I had a lot of fun making the quilt for the baby.
I also learned a LOT!
First lesson: Wrestling with quilting a quilt (even a baby sized one) is much different than wrestling with a bag.
Second lesson: Even baby sized quilts are a lot of work.
Third lesson: Cutting all that Chenille sucks.
Fourth lesson: Moleskin has more uses than just Disney.
Fifth lesson: I hate binding.
Sixth lesson: It was all worth it, and I love the final result.
Despite all of the work - I managed to get up to my sewing room after dinner last night, and attach the last of the binding. I even managed to get the quilt washed and dried before bed. So, I will be able to post pictures shortly. I am very excited about it, and I hope to make another one someday.

I am headed to the MOA this morning to do my Dismeet - my bff is coming with me.
Then we have a few errands to run, and I need to get groceries. I doubt I will get into my sewing room at all today. I hope to start on my Feb auction bag this weekend - if my fabric arrives.
Thank you for your prayers for RuthIE, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
