How many DIS'ers are going to the Fort in Aug. My family and I are arriving on Aug 13, 08 we will be there till Aug 28, 08. We have requested loop 100 or 200 and we will be in our popup. We are looking forward to relaxing and meeting some other Dis'ers.:woohoo:

Too far ahead for me to project but I'm sure I will be there a few times before that:thumbsup2

I'm in the process of planning a trip for Aug 10-16, 2008 with my parents and SO. Fort Wilderness is one of the choices I gave them for staying on property but nothing has been reserved yet. I need to get on them. It would be their first trip to the WDW since 1977 (that is not a typo). We'll likely be in 2000 loop since we'll be tent camping with 2 separate tents.

Luv 'n' Stuff

You could not pay me to go to FL in August !! :rotfl:

I swore Id never be in FL during the summer again....but somehow my wife has convinced me to do a late May trip instead of Sept...I agreed because I might be able to weezle an October trip out of her now...theres ALWAYS a workable angle.

either way it doesn't bother me I'm in Ft Lauderdale its hot all the time, might as well be hot at the Fort:thumbsup2 I can tackle any 95 degree weather with 80% humidity.

Its not any cooler in New Orleans either...but the heat combined with the park crowds makes me whiney and want to hurt small children that don't belong to me......and even some that DO belong to me!!!

we will be there aug. 16 to sept.13 dw will work remote 2 weeks then play last 2 weeks. have AP to use or we would go a little later. hope to see some of you.

We will be at the Fort Aug. 7 - Aug. 12. We are on a Disney cruise the 3rd to the morning of the 7th.

I live in steamy south Alabama... in August, that's the "indoor Air Conditioned" season, as far as I'm concerned... mercy, I do *not* stay nice in the heat and humidity.

We've got a late May trip scheduled, and it's making me nervous.... TheBigGuy has promised me we can sleep in, have a leisurely trip, and lots and lots of cold beverages. Night times will be our park times, I'm betting... wow.

You guys are so gutsy going in August.... you've a lot more stamina than me, for certain!!

DebbieT...thanks for the Turkey Lake info, DW insists on FW though (which tells me that she may actually be pumped about this trip) We changed our Sept dates to late May also...so we should meet on the porch for a picture.

We will be there August 5-13..
Ya know their are 4 seasons in the south:
Christmas, hot, real hot and D**N it's HOT

August 19th..to the 27th?..not sure I think that's the date.

All I can say is THANK YOU TINA! THANK YOU TINA!:dance3: :yay: :dance3:

Finally...I get to stay in the camping loops of FW..and the hubby doesn't have to tow from New York! You know what they say...."When mama's happy..everyone is happy!"
This is likely a trip just for my husband and myself, as two of my kids(16 and 21) won't think of going to FW(WL only for them!)..and other(27) is working(thank goodness..does that make me a bad mom...:confused3 ) Any way, the older guy is around to keep an watchful eye on the younger two..boy are they in for it(he's a cop!..they only think mom's a pain in their butts!) Heck, I think it's going to be great and can't wait. Means some alone time for the hubby and I. We don't care if it's 100 degrees and the campground is on fire. I don't think we'll even notice!

Seriously, we used to go to Disney in August years ago..and it was hot, but it's also great because the parks are open late and you can really just enjoy your resort during the day. Hang by the pool, and go to parks in the evening when you don't have the sun setting your skin on fire!:scared1:
