I wanted to throw our name into the pool of those sailing on this cruise. We were *kinda* undecided about keeping this cruise as the kiddos will start school the day after we disembark. We really want to do the Riviera though, so we will probably stay on.

Hey all - We are thinking Dune buggies in cabo horseback riding in Puerta and the cliff divers, dinner show at the resort.

My wife and I were down in Ft. Lauderdale last weekend for a conference. While going over the 17th Street bridge, we saw all of the cruise ships docked there. August can't come soon enough...

Just checking in! Can't believe it's just over 5 mos until our cruise!

Any ideas what you're doing for shore excursions yet?

I think we're going to do the (inexpensive) beach escape in Cabo, probably nothing in Mazatlan, and that pirate ship/snorkeling trip in Puerta Vallarta.

How's everyone?! Getting excited?

I just SAW this! My daughter will turn 9 on Aug 27, so their birthdays are just 8 days apart. I'm sure my daughter would love to meet yours!!

I haven't decided on excursions yet either. But if I decide to book Disney ones, it looks like I'd better get researching as I can book on May 5. Weird though is my deadline to pay in full isn't until May 20. Guess I'll pay early so I can definitely get that Palo res.

I hope everyone read the Dis today and/or got contacted by their TA's. Apparently, DCL will be charging an extra $5pp per port fee for all Mexican Ports starting with cruises on 7/1/08. This includes our cruise. Since we have a family of 4 and there are 3 ports, that is an extra $60. If you want to get out of paying the fee, you have to be paid in full today! Contact DCL or your TA's immediately.

hi friends! its been awhile since i have checked the boards but... I just bought the airfare so i guess we really are coming along. I think i did well $300 round trip from western ny to lax then back to dc. now i need to go back and read all the pages to see what is being planed. Looking forward to meeting you all!

After going back and forth on whether or not to do this cruise, I decided to go for it. Being from NJ I really didn't want to take a plane trip to CA just to go on this cruise but since this was the only 7 day cruise in aug. and I really couldn't see going on anything other than a disney cruise, I decided what the heck. This'll probably be my last summer vacation for awhile so I figured mine as well go out with a bang

Traveling will be:
Me (Tamara, 29), DH (Dwayne, 30) and DD (Dareece 7). We previously did the 4 day cruise 3 day land package but this time I wanted to do the whole 7 days exclusively cruise.

I haven't read this complete thread though, any other children in this age range going? DD is kind of shy at first so it would be great if she knew someone else her age.

We just finished up our 7-night Western (22 - 29 March), so I can now safely move to "full" planning mode for 7-night Riviera Cruise in early August.

Our eldest DS will be 13x then, and I showed him the cruise excursion options for this cruise, and he is interested in the "Teen Cruise" in Puerta Vallarta. Have any of you heard anything about this / or are considering allowing your teen to go on this? I did a quick search of the DisBoards, and nothing cropped up. Mind you, I didn't spend a whole lot of time looking.

amanuensis Cool, I'll let you know if we end up booking this for him. Our eldest (will turn 13 in May) DS is already corresponding with several other DS's his age for this cruise. He's a year younger, but if your DS were interested, I'm sure ours would love another pen pal.

All other cruisers: I also need to find a couple of buddies for our youngest DS . He will still be 10 when we cruise in August. He turns 11 towards the end of the month, after we get off the boat. PM me if interested.

Okay I tried to update list everyone I think is going...I put FirstTimer where Caitlin's Dad was so I wouldn't have to renumber the list! Welcome all.

We almost had to cancel the cruise. My husband has had health issues recently and an operation in January. But he's feeling good now and his doctors encouraged us to do the cruise so we are going, although he will be on a restricted diet.

I will ask my son if he wants to contact anyone in his age group in advance. He's very sociable and makes friends easily (at least in person, maybe not so at ease online.)
