Aug 03 2008 Magic (West Coast)

Good morning everyone. On-call tonight so up all night. Visions of the warm Pacific keeping me going. It's currently windy and 15 degrees here.

Good Morning.
I work in IT and I know about being oncall too,
My week dosnt start untill tomorrow as we have holiday today. :cool1:

One week on, two weeks off is my cycle.
At one point it was always on, and never off :surfweb:

Hope its a easy on for you

Whew! Finally home. Three deliveries, two C-sections and one emergency surgery. 73 weeks seems like a long time now.

Talked with our friends today and we're thinking of flying in (from Charlotte, NC) on Friday...hitting Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday and the boat on Sunday. I haven't been to L.A. in about 10 years, so any recommendations on hotels would be appreciated.

Yikes! I ventured off to another cruise board and those people are not very friendly! They argue a lot and throw flames left and right! And they are not fond of Disney Cruise Line :confused3 Scary :scared1:
Glad to be back on the DIS boards!

How was everyone's Monday? I'm a pharmacy technician and we were open today :sad2: and I had to laugh at the amount of phone calls, "Are you open today?"

Oh how I wanted to respond, "Nope, had the phones routed to my house so I could answer your cal!" :lmao:

Good news is I leave for Las Vegas in 4 days :cheer2: !!

For anyone who is interested and is staying at DL after cruise, it would be cool if we could book a dessert buffet for fantasmic and get the balcony to ourselves!!

So, depending on how many of us there ends up being, have we pondered the idea of renting a bus to transport us from DL to the port on cruise day? I had read about the 2005 folks doing it and it came out to under $10 per person. Or are most folks flying/driving in that day and going straight to the port?

Right now I am thinking of renting a car, since I will be staying the week after in So Calif. This way I will have a car at port when we return and I can start the second half of my vaction.

Hello All. On call again today, but have a long weekend. Just saw the story on CNBC about DCL adding two new ships; one in 2011 and one 2012. They look almost identical to the Magic/Wonder but are two decks higher and about 6,000 more tons.

I am definately blocking 2011 and 2012 off in my schedule Yahoooooo:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: pixiedust:

Its still my oncall week, I was woken up at 2 am, After fixing the issue, it took an 1 1/2 to fall back to sleep.4 more nights to go.

With the new ships, I wonder if people are already faxing in their IC requests? ha ha. Well, maybe not if DCL is now requiring deposits to take those IC requests. I can't wait to hear about the itineraries. In 2011, our kids will be 11, 9, and 5....and since we're not taking the younger one in 08...SHE DESERVES A DISNEY CRUISE TOO!!!

I heard some people did try faxing requests to IC, and were told none were being accepted at this time. Only 2008 & 2009 requests being accepted.

2011 and 2012 is a long way off, Our dd Caitlin will be 14 in 2011.
Personally I hope one of the ships will do Alaska

Weekly Countdown

75 :tinker:weeks until the August 3 rd, 2008 Mexican Rivera Cruise

Thought I take a first pass of who will be sailing

Heel! Isn't 8530 the Roy Disney Suite? I just saw that on Travel Channel. "Sweet!" as our son would say.

We are in the low rent district, room 7063.
