You can order decorations / cakes, etc. on line before you cruise. The room will all be done up for your arrival. We did this for my parents birthday on a cruise a couple of years ago. They were surprised. :thumbsup2

Oh there you all are! I guess I missed it. Thanks for steering me in the right direction - Glad to be aboard! To repeat my other post: we are 50-ish couple with a son who will be almost 14 when we go on the cruise. Very excited to have the opportunity to try a Disney cruise without having to fly to Florida. It will be our anniversary week to (22 years on August 8, 2008) so I'll have to order cake and make reservations at Palo's. Any advice appreciated...

Welcome aboard

Crowne Plaza LA Harbor Hotel (used to be a Sheraton)
Doubletree Hotel San Pedro

I found this on another thread on places to stay night before that are reccomended. Anyone else?

Anyone flying in day of? Anyone going to DL before or after?
I think we will be going after for about 3 days have not been to DL since thay were constructing California Adventure.

Any ideas yet on how to get to port and back? Boy do we all have lots to plan!! We need a cool name for our cruise like everyone else. Any ideas?

Something with a mexican flair maybe.

Welcome all!

Yes, we are planning either a pre or post DLR stay. I'm thinking post because cruise is sunday to sunday. And, I'm betting better park days to be mon/tues after than fri/sat before. But, I'm not sure.

I did get directed to this wonderful DLR thread with lots of helpful links as a starting place to plan our trip.

It will be our second Disney cruise,

At time of cruise - Ed(almost 51) just after cruise, DW- Beth(51) and DD Caitlin(11)

Hopely this thread will grow and we will see lots of action

We are from Ct and this will be our first Calif trip, so Disneyland will be part of the trip, most likely after.

I just heard from the cm taking my reservation, in a few months DCL will be annoucing a two day package for Disneyland for either before or after the cruise.

Talk with you soon.

Ed

How about "La Vida Mickey" Cruise or "Livin' La Vida Mickey" or something like that...that's all I can think of off the top of my cabeza...any other suggestions out there?

Sun and Fun on the Rivera

or The Rivera Amigos - Fun on the High Seas

OHHH I like all those suggestions we should just keep getting suggestions
for a while and then take a vote or something.

The fiestsa fun ship he he:yay:

The mucho mucho magic cruise

I need to brush up on my spanish:confused3

Welcome Tiggerfan! You sound like you have a lot of energy and excitement which is just what we need to keep this thread going and get us all geared up for this trip. When you find out any package info, let us all know, as I'd be curious too. We'll probably fly out the day before and stay 2 days after.

Cruise names...hmmm.

Partido en la Riviera mexicana (Party on the Mexican Riviera)

Amigos en la Riviera mexicana (Friends on the Mexican Riviera)

El cruzar con Mickey a México!!! (Cruising with Mickey to Mexico!!)

Amigos que cruzan a México con Mickey!! (Friends cruising to Mexico with Mickey)

All per google translation, not me. I had spanish in high school but not all that good any more. ha ha

I was using google too, its the only way :rotfl2: ,

I was on the August Douple Dip, That thread was over 800 pages by the time of the cruise.
That was my first cruise and we have been looking to go on another since
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=653957

I joined about pg 150 or so, it will be fun to be involved from the begining on this one.

We can only hope we get at least half that excitment, since most everyone is focusing on the repo cruises.

Maybe once the thought of those prices hit home we will have move people on this trip.

We could take that much time and have our dd miss the begining of Middle school, and since we really wanted to cruise another 7 day this one looked good.

Combine that with a first trip to Calif and seeing DL and here we are.

I dont mind keeping the countdown running, It helps keep the excitment up.

Congrates on taking us to page two .

Catch you later

Ed

I Might be going on this cruise, I'm not sure what cruise my dad booked yet since he won't tell me, I'm Julia but people call me Marla since I got that as a nickname in highschool, so call me whatever one you want. If I go on this cruise(again not sure which west coast trip dad booked, but I will find out) it will be my 4th cruise once on Wonder in July 2002, Magic in April 2005, and August Double Dip 2006 on Magic.

Hi Marla,

Hopefull you will find out what cruise your dad booked you guys on.
I see you have been on many of the 2008 Mexican threads

What ever one it is, I know you will have a great time.

Just like our double dip cruise was
