I will post a larger review during the weekend at the latest. Just wanted to update:

1) cost is now 60 Euros.

2) The photo station with Cinderella is no more, she's in the dining room with the other princesses now.

3) There is no Foie Gras anymore for the starters, it has been replaced by a "pumpkin special".

I can't have certain "specials" due to my allergies, so I asked what exactly this was and was told it's a lobster cream. Unfortunately that is an allergy issue for me, so no pictures and I couldn't try, sorry.

4) There was some little puff pastry coming with the bread basket that we were not given in March. Pretty good.

I had the lamb for main which is delicious!

The childrens and everything else has stayed the same its just the adult starts and appletisers changed. The fois grais has been replaced by raw slices of duck breast ontop of peas! The prawn appletisers are replaced with tasteless puff pastry things.

The duck breast thing was there in March already. In March the standard plate was salmon, the duck breast with lentils and foie grass.

The prawns also must have been gone for a while, cause in March we didn't even get the Puff Pastry, much less prawns.

Last November it changed to Duck foie gras, Smoked salmon, Duck breast with green lentils and walnut oil. Drink was included

Lunch - Auberge de Cendrillion

Amazing! We arrived at 11:45am for a 12pm booking and were first in the queue, the doors opened bang on 12pm and we were seated (without asking) next to the fireplace. It was really quite quiet, started to fill up around 1pm, I had a wander around the restaurant (chasing after a little girl) and the place to sit is definitely near the fireplace/dancefloor as this is where the Princesses enter. Character interaction was fabulous, and for any little (or big) girl celebrating a birthday this is the place I would recommend. A number of the waiting staff, plus Snow White and the Prince (this would change depending on the characters) walked across the restaurant singing and clapping with DD's cake, then posed for a wonderful photo. The restaurant itself is stunning.

Food
Prince's fruit cocktail - was really very yummy (non-alcoholic though)
Appetizer - cheese chouz style balls - very nice
Starter - Pumpkin soup; duck breast & chutney and smoked salmon with caviar - erm the soup was nice, but luke warm. I didn't try anything - it's just not my type of food, neither did hubby. The bread was nice though!
Main - we both chose the roasted rack of lamb with thyme flowers, vegetable compote and polenta. Was DELICIOUS! Definitely the nicest lamb I have ever had.
Desert - there was a creme brulee type thing, a chocolate case with rasperry and cream filling, and I can't remember what the 3rd thing was - which I didn't like but hubby loved and said it was the nicest pud he'd ever had!

DD had:
Starter - melon "soup" - she didn't like it, hubby did. Salmon paste (I think) with breadsticks and tomatoes with mozzarella. She ate the bread.
Main - roast fillet of salmon with asparagus risotto and carrot candy (filo pastry shaped like a candy sweet, filled with carrot.) She ate the bread and a bit of the filo pastry (despite loving salmon and carrot).
Desert - Cinderella's choc slipper, choc pud with Cinderella choc lolly and an ice cream cone with fruit sorbet. She ate the choc off her birthday cake!

It all looked beautiful and I am sure it was all delicious! Expensive at 64e and 28e for kids, but we saved ALOT by using the premium vouchers and well worth it for the experience! Hubby and I both had a glass of Rose and water and it was only 12e for the drinks!

Children get a souvenir menu, which has a colouring page on the back and a space for autographs - but no colours! No photos, wine etc. anymore but still fabulous!

We've visited April 30 at noon, apparently this was the first seating of the day.

Met Snow White, Aurora, the mice, Cinderella and Prince Charming. It seems the prince is mostly Prince Charming nowadays, I chatted to a couple of people.

The service was not good - we waited over half an hour before they even took our order. Boyfriend was not impressed because meanwhile tables who had arrived later (but they had kids in the party) had even received their starters already! I didn't mind that much because with the exception of Cinderella all characters had come through in that time. I like to take care of the important stuff first.

"Appetizers" as usual: Prince's Cocktail - though I quote boyfriend "wasn't that glass more full in the past?", that cheese pastry and rolls:

We both had the grilled vegetables as starter. Maybe that's different in France, but personally I expected those to be warm and you know, actually grilled. They more tasted like pickled to us. Also the poached egg was totally cold, never had that before either.

Boyfriend had the goose and declared it excellent. In fact he devoured it so quick I didn't even get the chance to take a picture.

I had the mushroom tarte and was very disappointed. Tasted like some cheap instant mashed potatoes with half a mushroom shot through. The salad was somewhat okay.

The small pieces of mushroom on top are seriously the only mushroom parts I could find in the whole portion.

Dessert hasn't changed since I went last in December.

The kid's dessert now has a mini white chocolate slipper, if I recall correctly it used to be bigger. There's still that ice cream cone thing and that pudding like stuff in the glass. They've added in something looking like a small piece of chocolate cake.

Also we were charged for both boyfriend's coke and the bottle of water we shared. I need to dig out the receipt, but I am pretty sure in the past we got a soft drink included in the price.

The character interaction was very nice though. In the past we had some problems as an adult only table. This time Snow White came back twice, Aurora once, and the mice were all over us. I had done a drawing of the girl mice and asked them to sign it. Perla liked it so much that she ran backstage and even obtained the signature of the third mouse on the picture for me. Poor mousey was stuck working backstage.

They are not doing the special menu for Dreams VIP area. They actually asked us where we had that info from, it seems a couple of people asked.

I asked about the vegetarian issue discussed here and was told a kid could get "pasta or the adult option."

We ate here on Tuesday 5th June 2012.

We had booked for 12pm and by the time we arrived we had to queue for about 10 minutes to get in - the restaurant was very busy but the princesses were still taking plenty of time to chat to each table in turn in a very orderly fashion and sent away any children who came up to them out of turn. The characters we saw were Snow White and her Prince, Tiana, Cinderella, Suzy and Perla. The character interaction was very good especially from Snow White who is youngest DD's favourite.

For starters I had the vegetables which really weren't very nice and DH had the foie gras which he enjoyed. We both had the duck main which was very tasty. The desserts were yummy too. All three girls had the burger for main and I had no problem asking for it to be well done. They ate a good portion of their meals and their desserts were very good.

The one thing I would say is that it took 45 minutes after we had finished our meal and paid the bill before Tiana made it to our table and meant we ended up being there over 2 and a half hours which was too long. I would advise either arriving before 12 so you are one of the first seated so the princesses get to you quicker or booking for 1.30 onwards as it was really very quiet by the time we left at 2.30

I visited again on Friday 13th July 2012.

I arrived 5 minutes late, but the restaurant was deserted and they let me in without a problem. In fact they seemed extremely amused that I came running - which I did after previously being told they did not hold reservations.

Anyway, I was seated somewhat close to the dance floor in the main room for a change.

I saw Suzy and Perla before the waiter ever showed up

The princess and the prince arrived soon after that: Cinderella, Snow White and... Prince Philip and Aurora. I was extremely happy as Philip was the last prince I had to meet.

The waiter then came to take my order and drop off the appetizer and the rolls. I asked about the chef's special and was told it was red fish. So I specifically told him I'd have veal as I was allergic to seafood.

Although the restaurant was empty it took a while for the characters to get to me, they took their time at the tables. Meanwhile my starter was served - I decided on the vegetables again as the rest was out due to allergies. At least this time I knew what was coming.

I didn't quite understand why the waiter took away the rolls when he served the starter, but he never came back until I had finished the starter and I couldn't ask.

Cinderella bypassed my table first. *sighs* I'm really wondering what an adult has to do sometimes to get character interaction, set the table on fire? Obviously autograph book, camera, pictures and pens are not enough.

Meanwhile a family had been seated next to me and I saw the waiter handing over crayons for the kids, so those are definitely back.

Finally it was time and I met my... umm Aurora's prince I mean:

Aurora kindly stepped aside and let me have a solo shot with him too.

They made definitely up for Cinderella skipping me, they spent a lot of time with me and kindly signed several things. Snow White caught up to them meanwhile and had to go to the family's table first because Aurora and Philip were still busy with me.

Then it was my turn to meet Snow White:

My main course arrived, along with the rolls being brought back. For some odd reason the dish did not look like the veal I remembered, more like scallops - which were not even on the menu. And the food definitely smelled fishy (pardon the pun).

I flagged down the waiter (a little more forceful than I normally would have, but at that point I was really hungry) and indeed I was given a wrong dish. Shiny. And I even mentioned I was allergic.

I was in for another wait for the veal then.

Cinderella made it back, not sure if she realized she skipped me or noticed me looking at her somewhat longingly.

Finally my main course arrived:

I wasn't overly impressed, but it was hot and way better than the mushroom tarte.

At that rate it looked like they wanted to get me out, my dessert arrived extremely fast after I finished my main course. Bad surprise though... the adult dessert has changed! This is all you get now:

It's about the size of one of the three things you used to get. Not impressed.

It was some mousse thing with a cake part, I think I tasted a fruity filing too.

In the end I had to wait forever to pay.

The service was not as bad as last time, but still I was not impressed. With even more cuts going on now I am not sure if I will return. I normally did because I was hunting characters (or in that case Philip) and as my set is now complete... well let's put it that way, the food is not that good.

Review from November 2, 2012. Note this was before the menu change Carrie posted about.

When I came in I found out that Central Reservations had not changed my reservation. Originally I had one for November 1, but moved it when the Halloween brunch was announced. Thankfully the restaurant CMs managed to squeeze me in anyway with minimal wait. So yay! for restaurant CMs and boo! for the reservation hotline (again).

The nice surprise was that Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters were hiding in Auberge and waiting out the rain, it rained really badly that day. So I did have some company during waiting before they visited some tables in the dining room.

Snow White arrived at my table even before I had my cocktail.

Appetizer was as usual. I'm still not a big fan of the vegetables, but due to my allergies those are the only option I could actually have. I look quite forward to trying the pumpkin soup on my next visit.

Main course was warn and tasty.

Characters were coming in quite fast and service was very speedy too, quite contrary to what I've experienced the last couple of times. I was already at dessert before I had seen Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty/Philip.

Aurora and Philip were already on their way out when apparently they realized thed hadn't seen me yet and came back. They were meeting just after my table when I was seated.

Good solid B. Character interaction was lovely, all characters chatted and for once I wasn't ignored as a single adult which happened often enough at Auberge. Still not too happy about the adult dessert changing, but I just love the morsel sauce for main course. Service speedy and absolutely on the ball.

DW and I had a lovely meal here on 13th March 2013, and it was a wonderful experience to be able to see the Princesses without having to stand in line for hours at the Princess Pavilion.

We took along our Red Noise Day Mickey Mouse which the British CM's recognised straight away. With the CM portraying Cinderella nearly breaking character when she recognised the Red Nose Day logo.

As two adults sometimes you do not get the same attention from the characters as a table with children on it, which we have experienced at Café Mickey in the past but our experience at Auberge de Cendrillon was truly fantastic. We meet Cinderella, Snow White and her Prince Charming, Repunsal, Perla and Suzy and all the characters came around twice to our table.

It was a very enjoyable last meal before having to catch the Eurostar home.
The meal cost 145 Euros with our Shareholders discount for the two of us, but that did include a bottle of Lanson Champage.

Some may remember from my last comments that I wasn’t sure if we’d do Auberge again due to us hitting the same combination of characters a couple of times in a row. But meanwhile they changed the menu plus we got the chance for a dinner reservation this time. We didn’t have dinner there in years. Also lately people eating there did see a lot of different characters that we hadn’t seen in a long time. That made us decide to give it another chance.

I must say dinner is quite relaxed. The restaurant is nowhere near full, and we have Suzy and Perla coming to us right away. They are quite enthusiastic and even seem to remember my pictures from when we met them earlier.





Unfortunately the rest of the cast are the same characters we’ve met on the last visits: Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty and Philip. Someone must really try to make up to me that I was hunting Philip forever.





Character interaction is flawless though, despite us being an all adult table.

One change I noticed is that Sleeping Beauty now signs Aurora, Aurore or Princess Aurora. So far all my Paris autographs of her say Sleeping Beauty.

We decide to try some of the new menu items. Pumpkin soup and chicken casserole.

Pumpkin soup… well… I guess disappointment would describe it best.





It is pretty much colored water with two mushrooms. Maybe there’s different recipes. But all versions I had before were kind of creamy and had some sort of texture. Even the pumpkin soup I was served last year in Auberge was a lot better. No idea what changed.

The chicken casserole is okay. I liked the sauce it came with a lot. Boyfriend stopped me from eating all though because apparently the part near the bone wasn’t fully cooked through.



Dessert is the same as it has been since the last menu change.

Dinner report from May 25, 2013:

Starter cocktail and cheesy puffs:



The mice quickly came visiting - just like earlier in May the restaurant was maybe half full at best.





When the royal visitors came in Cinderella was quickly followed by Snow White. I have to admit I did groan slightly. Nothing wrong with Snow White of course, but I was really getting visions of seeing the same cast I had at the last three visits again. Occasionally you just need a little change. I was really very happy when the visiting couple turned out to be Belle and the Beast and not Aurora and Philip. I had not seen the Beast (albeit in human form) in ages.

The characters visited quite quickly, even before I got my starter.

Snow White was charming and definitely one of the better Snow Whites I've met in Paris.

And last but not least Belle and the Beast:



Beast seemed rather amused because I was so excited. I had a very lovely chat with both of them. Belle even remembered that we had met before.



As a starter I had settled on the pumpkin soup despite the negative review I gave last time. It still wasn't quite as creamy as I remembered it from the one time it had been in the starter selection before, but it was much better than the one during my earlier May visit.



I didn't want to risk anything with the main course though and went for the veal. Warning to everyone who considers trying though: for the first time ever I was asked how I wanted it cooked - and apparently "well done" does translate to "slightly burnt in some places" at Auberge. I specifically went for well done cause normally in France well done seems to be medium at best.

Review from July 20, 2013 - dinner


I actually ended up in there by chance last time. Normally I don't do a sit down meal after the pin event. But the buffet there wasn't really good, so I was quite hungry. For some reason most counter service restaurants were closed (on a Saturday night in July during school holidays), so I asked at Auberge and they kindly let me in without a reservation. Very nice customer service.

Cast is Snow White (I am so not going to go there... she was everywhere this trip ), Belle, Cindy and Prince Charming.









The character interaction was good. Only Snow White seemed to be going by the book, some standard lines, photo and then leave.

The main course was very good this time, apparently they figured out the “well done” part now.

A lady on the table next to me actually ordered the quail. I was kind of tempted to ask her to get a picture to show Carrie when she's back home from her trip.

We ate here at 6:30pm in May. The price for an adult is €66 and for a child is €36. You can use Premium Meal Vouchers either, which includes a free drink. Our two children (5 and 2) shared one child's meal between them as you don't have to pay for under 3s.







You get a non-alcoholic cocktail on arrival, and some bread rolls and small cheese pastries.







There is a limited selection on the menu, but what you get is nice. I had the trio of salmon for starters, which was delicious,



and the beef for main course, which was good, but a little fatty.



My husband also had salmon to start, and Veal for mains, which he said was good.



There was no choice for dessert, which was a pity, as I didn't know what it was, and when I tasted it I didn't like it!



Tea and coffee were offered but are not included in the price.

There was no choice of starter for children; it was lettuce, tomato and salmon. Neither of my children tried it, but both were happy to eat the bread rolls instead. They had the cheeseburger for mains, which they ate some of but didn't finish.



There was no choice of dessert but what they got was delicious; a sort of Baked Alaska-style dessert and a chocolate lollipop.



We used Premium Meal Vouchers to pay (and saved quite a bit of money by doing so) but had to pay extra for the tea & coffee and a beer that my husband had. A this came to €15. We gave €20 but were not given any change.

Enough of the food, now on to the character interaction! Present were Cinderella & Prince Charming, Suzy & Perla (Cinderella's mice), Ariel and Sleeping Beauty. Cinderella and Prince Charming danced in front of the fireplace half way though our meal.



All of the characters came to our table within the first half an hour. Ariel came back a second time and Sleeping Beauty came back twice and spent a lot of time chatting to our boys. They were polite, kind, and interested. It was a lovely experience to spend time with the Princesses and Sleeping Beauty in particular has left a lasting impression on our eldest son.



The price is expensive for the food that you get (especially considering the limited choices), but this restaurant is worth a visit to meet the Princesses.
