What I did though was I emailed them and told DCP that I wanted a more showy attraction like the Jungle Cruise or Turtle Talk with Crus

Haha!! I did the same exact thing. I mean practically verbatim!! Haha!! Well I noticed that EVERYONE in attractions was doing the same thing so I emailed them back and just asked to stay in the Magic Kingdom. I'm going a little bit later (Jan. 31), so it might be harder to fill me request but I'd really like to work an attraction at MK.

I did the same thing when I applied! I made sure to stress my public speaking and performance background and requested a high-spiel ride such as Kilimanjaro Safaris, Jungle Cruise, or Great Movie Ride.
