I love going into attractions that we've heard nothing about, and being pleasantly suprised. Sometimes we're not so impressed (Carousel of Progress - bless its little heart). Any attractions that caught you off guard in a happy, fun way?
My offerings....
Crush the Turtle. We had no idea what we were standing in line for...what a treat!
Also, Philamagic...I actually resisted going in. Silly me.

It's A Small World was closed for rehab the first time we went. We did it this time and it was delightful.

I was also surprised by how much my kids enjoyed Peter Pan. I didn't think they would think it was a big deal but they loved it-even my 13 year old.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority was another unexpected treasure for us. The kids made us ride it 3 times in a row.

Voyage of the Little Meremaid and Playhouse Disney. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed them. We have no kids, so, we just did them on a lark.

Beauty and the Beast....don't tell my wife, but, I always get choked up in that one.

Again, don't tell my wife, Typhoon Lagoon. I love the Lazy River. I tried to talk her out of going the first time, but, after that, I feel disappointed if I don't get one go round at least.

I have to agree with both Turtle Talk and Mickey's Philharmagic!

We saw Turtle Talk when it very first opened...most people didn't even know about it and all I knew basically was that it featured Crush and boy we were surprised! We loved it. It was so cool and it was even better because of the surprise factor. All the info on the DIS is great, but I have to say it was alot of fun going to Turtle Talk without much info.

I knew alot more about Philharmagic, but was still thrilled with it. It is the coolest 3-D...or I guess, 4-D, movie I ever saw.

Country Bear Jamboree-the second time. The first time I saw it, I thought it was so boring, dumb, corny, a real waste of time. For some reason I saw it again about 5 years later, only because I was tired and wanted someplace cool to sit. Boy, was I surprised how much it had improved (yeah, right!) It was still corny, but in such a cute, fun way.

Muppets 3D. Love the Muppets, just didn't expect it to be that good.

I saw Impressions de France for the first time this last trip! I thought it was going to be a stand-up circle vision movie and was so impressed with the beautiful theater and thought the movie was lovely!

The Great Movie Ride - I get choked up every time just seeing clips of some of those old movies (yes I'm a sap!) Ok so I have to bribe the kids with candy to sit thru the ride with me - but it IS nice & cool & relaxing!

I agree about Turtle Talk. We first saw it righst after it opened and really had no idea what we were getting into. Wow... just, wow! Awesome show!

Also was pleasantly suprised by Reflections of China, Carousel of Progress, and ITTBAB.

I agree with Allison about IASW. Everyone always complains how boring or annoying it is. I thought it was sweet. My DS loved it, too. We also saw it after the rehab.

This ride is a GEM. Or as they say in Aladdin, a diamond in the rough.

I also like TTA and Muppets 3D. They are little known attractions that are ots of fun.

One Man's Dream is always worth our time. We spend 15 minutes looking around the exhibits, and then watch the show, which we have at home also.

I don't really like the Circle Vision either. We go into China for the Honk Kong exhibit, and will nip into the show if it is about to start.
We thought that the music in the Canada one was kind of funny, so we go "Canadaaaaa, oh Canadaaaaa" every time someone mentions the ride. We don't spend much time in Canada though.

Tom Sawyer's Island. I know lots of people never prioritize this Frontierland attraction. But I can think of no better mid-day escape from the crowds, especially with a snack at Aunt Polly's.

Totally forgot about this, saw it for the 1st time this trip as well! We were trying to slow down and see some things that we would bypass in the past on our way to more rides. I LOVED this movie and again was surprised at the size of the theater! I enjoyed the narration by Julie Andrews and teared up at the end. There were probably only a dozen people in the theater and we all clapped when it was over. :goodvibes

Let's just say that this movie (the canada movie)is about 25 years old.

My parents and I were shocked and embarrassed at how it portrayed us.

:sad2:

I agree 100%!! Tom Sawyer Island is one thing my kids remember & ask to go back to. I even enjoy running around the trails & caves - and then relaxing in the frontier town while the kids have a blast (literally) with the guns & the old fort. A snack at Polly's is a great afternoon break. My parents had never taken me to TSI as a child, so I didn't even know it existed until I was an adult!

One of my favorates is gone now....I happened into Time Keeper right after I went on Alien Encounter (which had just opened and was THE BIG THING back then) I HATED Alien Encounter and LOVED Timekeeper....I'm really sorry it's gone.

We never miss Carousel of Progress or the TTA...love both. In Epcot, I like to loose myself in all the back gardens and no trip is complete without a trip to the great gift shop...I think it's call Gear Works or something like that. It's like an attaction itself!

I forgot TSI. My oldest loves it. I felt so bad for him this year as we had just gotten there and then were promptly evacuated off the island because of a severe storm.

I would have been crushed. I look forward to TSI every trip. I've even done the early-morning paintbrush search. (If you haven't done it, definitely try it on the next trip. Such fun, and a good break if you've done early mornings, as I think TSI opens at 10 a.m.)
