....... I was replying to JJ's trip report and not for the first time, I wonder if sometimes when you've read lots of rave reviews about a ride, has it led to the ride not living up to your (high) expectations?
Which attractions have you felt disappointed with having really looked forward to experiencing them?
Conversely, are there any rides which you felt were far better than you'd anticipated?

My disappointment was with Jungle Cruise when we first rode in '94 ( having queued for ages)- however, subsequently riding without waiting in line and getting a good CM, my opinion has improved slightly.

Hi Shirley

I have to say that I was so disappointed with Test Track when we rode it. After reading for months how brilliant everyone thought it was, and how long the queue's were likely to be because of it's popularity I had built myself up to expecting something quite different to what it actually was! We managed to get Fastpasses - then rode the single riders line, and to be honest, we were all so underimpressed that we didn't bother with the Fastpasses.

I really expect to have my mind changed in May though :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Now - on the other hand, NOTHING could have prepared me for the magnificence and thrill from Rock N Roll Coaster. This just literally blew me away! Awesome!!!

I really expect to have to ride this on my own in May LOL :smooth:

20,000 Leagues was a disappointment for us but I don't think it's there any more. May be it was too much of a disappointment for too many people.LOL. We've never "done" the Tikki Rooms cos DD didn't rate it.

Mine will pretty much be sacrilege........Fantasmic:eek:

OK I'm ducking:)

I was a bit underawed by Test Track. I'd go on it again but only if there was no queue.

I was expecting to be disapointed by Spiderman, as I was expecting so much of it after what people had been saying about it. I was absolutely amazed by it and had to go on it again and again.

I also was a bit dissapointed with Test Track, as i expected it to be a bit more than what it was.
We queued for over an hour to go on it, as fast pass was'nt working on that day, and the ride kept breaking down, so when we finally got on it, i felt it was a bit of a let down.
Spiderman was fantastic, possibly the best ride in Orlando, IMHO.

GARY & HELEN:)

I love Test Track:) Horses for courses, see:)

I was disappointed with test Track, I was expecting so much more.

Got to be Tiki rooms for me
it Would be nice if some of the rides were longer:)

Ah now Sue's Mom there's a story behind the 20,000 Leagues attraction - and yes it was a little disappointing being attacked by such a plastic squid LOL!!
Anyway, they closed the attraction for refurb and then there followed a big debate about what should be done with it - whilst they debated this for TWO YEARS (!!??) the subs remained in the water and their condition deteriorated to the point they were useless anyway!!
I quite liked boarding the sub, having your own Captain and the feeling you were going down underwater, but I had real problems trying not to laugh at the squid :D ..... boy, that was a slow loader too

Another vote here I'm afraid for Fantasmic.

Although it could have something to do with going into the show 1 hour before hand. My bottom was getting so sore I was glad to start doing the mexican wave so that I could stand up and down! Once the show eventually started the rugrat in front of me, held that spinny thing that lights up up in the air ... right in front of my eyes!! Then five minutes before the end heaps of folk started leaving  Probably to beat the rush!! So while you were watching the finale, there was folk walking past.

I'm afraid I felt more or less the same about the night time parade at the Magic Kingdom, again due to the l-o-n-g wait and then the guy that was standing behind me somehow managing to stand in front of me with his video camera :(

Oops sorry rant over!

I was a bit dissapointed with the Kali Rapids ride - it was very short. Also, the inside testing bit on TT was not quite as good as I expected - but the speed test outside was great :)

Well for me it was Dr Dooms Fearfall. Just did not do it for me i'm afraid. The cm was not very pleasant. Perhaps because i had already done TOT, where the theming ect added to the ride.

Anyway bottom line did not rate Dr Dooms Fearfall!

It has to be the Tikki Rooms for me too. I am surprised I managed to last through it..;)

I love Teast Track too.......:):)

The most disappointing thing for me was Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Ride. I had read loads about this ride and how it shouldn't be missed, just wished we had passed it by.

TOT, RnR and Spiderman have got to be the best rides and live up to all the hype.

There seems to be a theme emerging over Test Track. We waited soooooooo long for it, didn't we? So many false starts. And then basically a load of rubbish for a 'blink and you've missed it' thrill ride at the end. I do like it, but it doesn't live up to the hype. I preferred 'World in Motion' (?). In fact, I like all the old stuff that's slowly disappearing - Horizons, CoP (probably my favourite attraction) and the original ending to Spaceship Earth with James Earl Jones.

I think the trick with The Jungle Cruise is to have your tongue very firmly planted in your cheek. Ditto 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, although the same can probably be said about Jaws which I just can't get into.

I'm another Fantasmic dissenter. We saw it when it was very new and I'd read so much about it, I thought it was going to be the highlight of the trip. We took our seats an hour and a half before which may have affected my view, but to be honest I was a bit bored. I would describe it as 'nice' which probably isn't the greatest accolade! I gave it another go in December and I enjoyed it, but I just don't understand the fanatacism surrounding it.

Same again for La Nouba. Everything I'd read said it isn't a circus. Well I disagree. It has the lot. Trapeze artists, acrobats, even clowns! Again, I did enjoy it, but I just don't think it lived up to the hype. I am ready to see it again, though.

I think that hype is the problem. When things are built up so much, they are almost certain to be a disappointment. Doesn't auger very well for Mission:Space, does it?
