We're going to Disney the middle of June and staying at the Coronado Springs for the first time. We've been to Disney many times and always enjoy it but we're looking for some other things to do and see. We thought maybe we'd go to Universal one day. I'd appreciate any info from anyone who might have some suggestions on other attractions, restaurants, shopping, etc. :)

When we (husband, son age 4 at the time and myself) went to Disney in 1996 we had 2 weeks in Florida. We went 5 days to Disney (before they had AK) and spent day at SeaWorld and day at Universal. This trip we only have 11 days (boo hoo) and will be spending 3 of those nights at Nana's house near Vero Beach. We asked our son (9 now) which he would rather do - Sea World or Universal and he said he wants to go back to Sea World. This time from Nana's house we will do day trip to Kennedy Space Ctr also. And there is a character breakfast with Goofy & Max at Vero Beach

Last trip we went to Medievel Times. This trip Nana wants us to take her to Arabian Nights for her birthday dinner.

patticakes, there is SO much to do in the rest of Orlando it is hard to know where to start :)

Obviously, there are two great parks at Universal, and SeaWorld is a must-see, IMHO, as is the Space Center (just so real after all the parks!). Then there are airboat rides, balloon, trips, canoeing, Florida nature eco-tourism, dinner-shows, smaller attractions like Ripleys, Fantasy of Flight, Warbird Air Museum, Titanic and Guinness World Records; there's great shopping, sports and a fun entertainment complex downtown (Church Street Station); slightly further afield there are Silver Springs, Cypress Gardens and Busch Gardens, while Seminole County just to the north has a lot of natural attractions, too.

Now, what of all that takes your fancy? :D

Simon is right. There is a lot to do outside of Disney. You can read his book for the information (and because Simon needs a royality check :) ). No really, the Orlando tourist association estimated that it takes 45 days to do and see all in Orlando. So as you can see, there is a lot to do in Orlando!

I would recommend Belz factory outlets, Seaworld and Belz factory outlets again!
