Need some Advice. Our family - Myself, DH, DD(8yrs old) and DD (2ys old) will be vacationing in May at WDW. What are some of the best attractions for 21/2 year old? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I took my 2 1/2 year old in January and he loved it! His favorites were:

1. Pooh
2. Small World
3. Peter Pan
4. the train
5. goofy's barnstormer (he is brave)
6. dumbo

He really loved the characters. He would go up to them and hug them and would not let go. The character would start tapping him on the shoulder like HEY wake up kid....it was very funny.

We are going back in june with his 3 older brothers.....they still don't know we went without them....:hyper:

You got some good advice already. I will add:

MK

COUNTRY BEAR JAMBOREE
Tomorrowland Transit
Tea Cups

And dont forget the carousel! My 2 yr old did not like the 3d movies or anything dark after the movies (and is now afraid of the dark and loud noises). Same for the Haunted Mansion. We didnt attempt Snow White after all that. One thing that I found that helped-my son wouldnt approach Santa this past Christmas so I was worried he wouldnt go near the characters, and I was right (I had to go up to many of them along with him). However, he was at ease with the original characters and I think what helped was watching the planning dvd and the Sing Along Beach Party video (Toys r Us has it). He walked right up to Mickey at MGM! The other thing-dont miss Chef Mickeys at CR. It was a hit for my son. We did save it until check out day so that he had time to get used to the characters in the parks.

Our DD loved the TTA at this age. She even took a little nap on it and the CM's let us stay on as long as we wanted.

Also, just make sure you hit everything in Fantasyland.

Our 2 1/2 yr old DGD LOVED the teacups and It's A Small World!!

The dark rides sorta frightened her. We made the mistake of starting her off on a dark ride (Spaceship Earth) first and she was leery of anything dark or enclosed for several days!!!

Have a great trip!!!

Ditto the comment that the advice given already is great. We took my oldest dd (now 4 1/2) to Disney at 2 1/2 and she LOVED it. You are going to enjoy watching her so much! I would add to the list you've received that my dd really enjoyed both The Beauty & the Beast show (MGM) as well as The Lion King show (AK). Both shows are fast paced and have wonderful music and fabulous costumes. Even at age 2, my daughter was memorized. You could always sit by an exit and make a quick exit if you needed to.

Absolutely do PlayHouse Disney at MGM (it is AWESOME for little ones) and all of Fantasyland. My 2 yr old rode Carousel probably 20 times. She also loved Mickey's house, Pooh, and the Dumbo ride. Do NOT take her on Snow White. Last year dd begged to go (at 3 1/2) even after being repeatedly told it was "scary." Big mistake - I felt horrible.

My last advice is do a PS at Chef Mickey's if you can. We did that the first night and it was a great way to introduce dd to characters. She LOVED it and we have great pictures. Have Fun and enjoy your little (and big) one! :p

THANK YOU ALL

THANKS FOR THE GREAT ADVICE. ANY OTHER IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. KEEP THEM COMING. WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE THIS TRIP AS MUCH FUN FOR OUR 2 1/2 AS IT WILL BE FOR OUR 8 YEAR OLD WHO IS ANXIOUSLY COUNTING DOWN TILL MAY.
