Attraction Videos on YouTube

Last year, I took my then-2 yo to DLR and it was a disaster. She was scared of or just didn't like every ride we went on, and it was drama after drama.

Since my older two love anything and everything Disney, it was quite a shock! If I hadn't been there at the birth I might be questioning if this was really my child!!

Hoping to be better prepared this year I sought out ride videos, and found a bunch on YouTube. We've been watching them every night, and dd is getting very excited about the rides. She is looking forward to seeing Captain Jack in POC and seeing if the dog gives the pirates the keys!

I think she will be better prepared for the rides having seen the videos, and it's a good reminder for me, because I had forgotten how scary some of the rides can seem to little ones. We've never made it on Splash Mountain, for example, because either it was too cold or the lines were too long. So I'd forgotten how dark it gets in the tunnels or how scary the approach to that last drop can be.

So anyway, I just thought I would pass on this tip to anyone with little ones who might be anxious about the rides. Just put Disneyland or Disney World and the name of the attraction in the search box and you should be able to find anything.

I totally agree with this! My 7 year old is easily scared by rides at Kings Dominion (he doesn't even like the Spongebob 3-D movie!) so I showed him a lot of the rides that I thought may be questionable for him. Yeah - he said no way is he going on Dinosaur! I thought it was out but wanted to show him anyway. It's a great idea for kids who scare easily.

Thanks- thats a great idea! We looked at the pics and read the descriptions of all the rides over at another Disney site. That helped us narrow down our list of must dos, and the vids will help more!

I've been doing this with DS4 as well. He loves roller coasters, but I wanted to get him a little prepared for EE before we got on. I didn't want him to see the Yeti and try to break out of the coaster. LOL

Fun! Some friends are going for their first trip in May, and they will get a kick out of this. Thanks!

I know you posted that for little kids, and it did actually help with my DD5 and DS7 they now want to try EE and Test Track, but I really needed it for myself. I have some anxiety issues when it comes to long rides and not knowing what is going to happen next.. Being able to "ride" it ahead of time has already made me feel so much better about our upcoming trip!

Thank you ! Thank you!!
