This is most likely another dumb question... but.....

What is the reason you would use Disney Dollars?

I've searched around various sites and not seen that you can buy them for a discount or anything like that, so other than the fact that they are welcome in the parks/shops/restaurants and are a neat looking peice of paper, why use them?

Thanks!

Well, for us it is a way to keep the kids from spending their allowance --they change it to DD they don't spend it until they get to Disney.

If I want to treat someone to dinner on their vacation, without interfering in their plans I can learn through conversation where they are planning to eat and "pay" for their meal.

It is a way to "save-up" without dipping into the funds. Once they are turned to DD it is a hassle to physically take them to DS to trade them back for cash--an impulse purchase is less likely to happen.

Leftovers don't expire, so I consider that a start fund for the next vacation!

I have a particular enterprise that I've undertaken specifically to make spending money for DW. I purchase DD with all the proceeds from this project and therefore I don't use the money for anything else. It works for me.

And they are cute!

I give my kids $100.00 each in DD, I hold of course, and the kids spend it on anything they want while we are on vacation. You can always keep your receipt & trade for real money if you don't use all your DD, yeah right, that will never happen in our family.

It's cute and fun for the kids. Once their "extra" $$ is gone, it's gone. If it were only that simple!
