WDW attractions should just go ahead and print out this thread for their to-do/fix-it list!
When RnR first opened, didn't the semi truck dart out at you or have his headlights off and turned them on just as it seemed you were about to hit head on?
How about this one? This is also at the GMR. The first few years that MGM was open, your cars would split into two parts with your own tour guide. The first two would go through the gangster scene where your car was hijacked by the gangster. The last two cars would stay behind and have that experience. The first two would pass through to the wild west scene where the bank was being robbed and that robber would hijack the car. You can see the fire damage to the bank in the corner around the windows are all scorched because someone shoots or blows up the bank and it catches fire. I remember it very well because the heat from the fire was intense.
Maybe they stopped it because of the heat or they only do it when the crowds get really huge.
If anyone out there knows the reason why they stopped the bank robbery part and/or if anyone out there remembers it like me please be sure to answer.
The Rock N' Rollercoaster pre-show has changed from when the attraction first opened. Originally, band member Joe Perry would ask "Chris" to "grab my black Les Paul." A Disney cast member would then enter the pre-show area and remove a guitar from the set. The script uses the unisex name "Chris" so either a male or female could play the part. Although not used as often as when the ride first opened, the position is still used from time to time (Normally during peak holiday times). The video also includes a roadie saying "Hey Joe, I'll get it for ya" as a backup in the event that the position is not staffed.
Edit: I tried finding footage or a photo of this, but couldn't.
What about the old back lot at MGM? I like the car show and all, but I miss all the real back lot like stuff. On that note...where are the Osbourn lights nowadays?
The Osbourne Lights are on Streets of America now. The 'buildings' are covered top to bottom and there are some netting lights across them. We went in 2001 and saw them on the backlot and while its still cool now, it was AMAZING on the backlot. Every doorbell, branch, bike, and rock was covered. It's more 'flat' now. That said, I am going in 11 days and cannot wait to see again anyway!
Several years ago, an idea was put in place to try to take ride photos of guests (for purchase) on Haunted Mansion.
The camera was installed behind the glass where you have a ghost riding with you. The camera was installed with the plans (already created) to eventually build a post-ride store (this has been put on hold due to the budget of the recent refurb).
The camera has never been activated and may have just been removed during the recent refurb.
Thanks for remembering that too. Each time I ride I swear I think someone is going to pop out and grab the guitar. Everyone I'm with thinks I'm nuts.
Side note: I think some cables hanging on the wall used to be a hidden mickey.
This thread makes a question come to mind: Is there still a store near HM in DW that sells haunted-type stuff, like skulls, magic tricks, and other stuff?
I've heard on the Epcot Nemo ride, that fish with the mouth/teeth/light (not sure what to call it?) can move a lot more, but they've tamed it down because it was too scary.
Thanks for the music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great to listen to while surfing the DIS.

Ichabod's Landing was the name of the store. The building is still there but it's used as a custodial supply closet. Nowadays there's a themed gypsy cart over by the exit of the HM.This thread makes a question come to mind: Is there still a store near HM in DW that sells haunted-type stuff, like skulls, magic tricks, and other stuff? I remember going as a teenager, a goth teenager, and loading up on skulls and skeletons and other such items. Is that store still there?
That's too bad. This was the only part of this ride that I really liked, apart from the end with the characters in the fishtanks. It seems like Disney is moving away from AA figures to putting flat screen televisions in a ride with a scene looping on it. I can watch TV at home.
Anyone remember when they actually had CMs IN the HM ride. There is an article on Doombuggies.com that talks about a suit of armor, but I seem to remember being scared by what my mom called "the phantom of the opera." Just recently, I saw video of the original figure they were going to use for the hatbox ghost, and I REALLY remember the CM (at DL) wearing this costume, complete with cape, top hat, and head. Does ANYONE else remember this, so that I don't feel like I'm crazy? Or at least, does anyone remember being scared by the suit of armor?
Err... not really.I've heard on the Epcot Nemo ride, that fish with the mouth/teeth/light (not sure what to call it?) can move a lot more, but they've tamed it down because it was too scary.
