I need help?! I am new to this, just joined the team last month and became co-captain almost immediately!! So here's my question. How do you guys handle the difference in days at the end of the month? Do you continue to just input weekly mileage, or do you get the people on your team to report the extra days? I was thinking that since everyone has already reported their stats through Friday that I would just enter that, and carry the rest over to next week, but I don't want anyone to think that I am trying to pad our numbers or anything like that. Let me know.

Dana

Not sure that I grasp your question, but teh spreadsheet says to count from 4/18 to 4/30. If you want to put your numbers from week end 4/25 in now and add to them after Wed, I'm sure that would be fine. Not sure if that's what you want to do or not, though.

I have just noticed that the members on my team post their total weekly mileage at the end of every week. I didn't know if I needed to ask them to post their totals after wednesday also, or if it would be acceptable to just post the totals from Saturday to Friday on the week of May2nd. Does that make any more sense?

Dana

Hey Dana,

I can tell you what I'm doing with our team. We are posting numbers from last Friday (April 25th) up until Thursday (May 1st) in the May spreadsheet. I just find it easier to continue to post our numbers the same way we always do. As many have suggested by the end of the year it will all come out in the wash. Hope this helps.

Chris

Dana,

It all works out in the wash, so if it is easier for you to put this week in May then do it. You can plead to your team to break up this week by month, but in the end go with the flow and whatever is easier.

Yeah, we're looking at the whole year. SO, You'll be low in April adn high in May. No big deal.

Dana, the original spreadsheet would have counted this week in April so that is what I am doing. I am going to add the miles from this week to last weeks and post it all on the last week of the month and start out next month fresh. I am just going to wing it from month to month as it will all come out in the end. For May, it ends on a Saturday so I will post all the miles from May through that last Saturday in the May month and so on.

I think that you have to do what works best for you and your team. When December rolls around and the game ends, it matters not where the miles were posted as it is not on a monthly basis but an overall total that they are looking for. I hope that I helped answer your question.

I'm not a captain (shhh ;) )....but just to answer your question our team is going month to month. So we will finish out the end of april with a few extra days added in, then start May on the 1st. I personally like to compare my numbers month by month but that's just a personal preference. As team captain you need to look at what works for you and will make your life easier.

And thanks to Scott...:goodvibes ....I know there were some issues with the old spreadsheet and I know you put a good amount of time into creating a new one that was accessible by all. Much appreciated buddy! :thumbsup2
