Hi all,

We are planning our trip for Sept/Oct and now the in-laws want to come, too.

Here's the dilemma:

We will have a total of 8 folks in our group, 6 adults and 2 children. DH will receive the free Military Salute Pass and we will purchase the 5 additional tickets for $99 apiece. However, we will need two more tickets for the rest of the group.

Has anyone else been able to purchase any additional tickets through Disney above the allotted Military Salute passes at a discount? I was hoping to avoid a trip to Shades of Green office to buy the two extra tickets. Also, I thought it couldn't be unusual that other military families would have more than 6 in their party.

Sorry for all the details--just trying to get this all planned out.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

:smooth:

Have a Disney Day! :earsboy:

Hi kristamil Welcome to the DIS. I'm very glad that you found us and I hope that you can visit often. It's a lot of fun planning a trip here at the DIS :)

I know nothing about these military passes so I'm going to bump this back to page one for you. I'm sure one of our veterans can give you some advice and information about this topic.

I don't know the answer to your question, but my guess would be no. I would call Disney to get an answer, or go to www.disneyworld.com/military and e-mail them your question. If you have to buy the additional two tickets, but the kids separate tickets and have the couples that you are giving the additional $99 tickets to, pay for 1 each child's ticket.

I agree you will likely have to head to SOG to get the additional tickets (and of course get them for the kiddies which will be much cheaper)

We have six in our party too (not counting the active duty guy) I am really bummed about the limit of five - I can see why it is limited, but it would be nice if you could buy the same ticket for a higher price - I would be willing to pay it. The problem I see is that this is a hybrid ticket, so there is no comparable admission ticket to purchase. The closest I have seen was the five day park hopper offered by Ticketmania last month, which had four plus options....but that was last month, and this is now.

I am hoping to encounter someone who is going at the same time I am or before me who will not need all five. (Hope springs eternal) If I don't find someone, and I probably won't, I will go to the window and look very sad....but if it is all computer controlled, I am not very hopeful for that to work out in my favor.

Too bad you can't stake out the resort check-in for small military families.....(before they buy their passes, of course.) LOL

Maddle,
When are you going?

JOC - How nice of you to ask!

We will be arriving in Orlando in the morning of August 1st, when I plan to purchase passes, and check into our off-site resort in the afternoon.

However, we will be arriving in Florida by car, passing through Orlando, on July 23 to visit relatives up and down the Gulf Coast...so we won't be too far away from Orlando those last 8 days of July.

PS - OT - doesn't that sound like a nice vacation? Beaches, Grandmas, maybe a fishing trip with an Uncle, a week at a resort in Orlando with cousins.....can you believe my teenager is complaining? Sheesh - some kids don't know how good they have it.

Sorry; we're not going until December.

We are also excited to be getting such a great deal on tickets. We will have one extra person in our group, but I don't mind paying the regular SOG price for their ticket considering how much money we are saving on ALL THE OTHER TICKETS. Guess Disney has to set some limits.....

Well, yeah - I think they have to set limits, too, and I don't have any issue with that at all.....but you can't buy a ticket with the same privileges, not for any price, except a premium annual pass.

Believe me, I would happily pay it.

The closest you could come, besides last month's Ticketmania special, is a Stars and Stripes - but even that is not as good, because it runs out in so many days. The Military Salute pass can be stretched out until the end of the promotion, if you wanted to go to other parks.

I think what I will probably do is buy an regular Annual Pass, and one or two water park tickets as needed. and come back in the winter with other relatives....but I'm still hoping for a Fairy Godmother between now and August.
