Attn: Locals - question re. better route

We're going to be staying in Tustin for our first night. We want to know which one is the better route traffic-wise from Tustin to DL: I5 all the way to 55 or cut across Garden Grove 22 to 55. This will be during the weekend.

Just take the I5 North to Ball Road....(Disneyland Exit in Anaheim). No need to hit any other freeways.

Approximately 9 am from Tustin to DL then after 7 pm from DL to Tustin.

Yep...I would just use the I5...no need to jot around.
