We are planning a trip for next March18-25 and I just looked at the touring plans and the crowd levels are 9 all week. I was suprised the are so high because Easter is not till mid April next year . I know spring breaks are spread out between March and April, but is there any reason that this week is listed as busy as Easter week? Thanks!

Spring Break for college students is never over Easter, but rather smack dab in the middle of March (usually around St. Patrick's Day). All of our elementary, middle and high schools in Alabama also have spring break at that same time in March. This is due to the fact that a lot of schools are on a modified year-round schedule and Easter messes with the testing. Kids around here start school in early August and are done before Memorial Day. If you can change your plans by a week after or 2 weeks before,that might help.

Is it Mardi Gras? If so that would also contribute as people from New Orleans rush to escape the madness.
