Attn: All DVC Members!! Ever been on a wait list?

Hello fellow DVC members!! I have our name on a wait list for a 3bdm Grand Villa at Old Key West for the week of June 4, 2006. And on a wait list for a 2bdm villa at Vero Beach for the following week. I have never used the wait list system before and I am wondering what my chances really are. Have any of you had success with the wait list? Should I not get my hopes up? Sorry, I guess I should have posted to a different category.

I have been on a wait list 3 or 4 times and it has always come through.

I don't know about the grand villa though. That may be tougher to get.

I have been on the waitlist several times...all except one came through(and that was a late(nov) rental for Last Easter...no big deal...I had a plan B)

Pixie dust for you! Are you holding out for those exact accomodations, or do you have a back up plan? Have you waitlisted for the whole trip, or a day at a time? I think people have more success a day at a time, but that's too nerve racking for me. I would waitlist for all or nothing. The only waitlist that didn't come through for me was a standard room studio at BWV for a long weekend in October.

I don't think I've ever made a reservation for more than a day or two that didn't involve a wait list. Be patient and call periodically and it will likely come through. Good luck!!

I've only been on a waitlist twice. Both times were for OKW in late Oct/early Nov. Neither ever came through and I was calling the resort right up until the day before we arrived. But this was during a very busy time in WDW---I know MNSSHP and Food & Wine both probably played a part in my waitlist not coming through. We went on the waitlist around 60 and 90 days ahead.

I know MANY here have had good luck with the waitlist, so I'm sure yours will come through. I believe the first week of June is rather lower demand than the rest of the summer because alot of schools are still in session. Sending pixie dust your way

for those of you that have had success wait-listing, how far in advance did you get on the list?

I've always rec'd my waitlist and once it was trying only 3 weeks out. I hope it works out for you!

I just got my waitlist last Friday - but mine was just for a view. I had initially booked a 2-bedroom BWV preferred view for the first week of June back in October, and had waitlisted a boardwalk view. It came through!!! Yippie!!

Last year, I had wanted a studio at the BWV in late August for our whole trip, but only could initially book some of the days. My waitlist never came through, so we ended up moving back and forth from a studio to a 1-bedroom and then back to the studio. We still enjoyed our trip, though! And it worked out b/c we could easily do our laundry while in the 1-bedroom!
