Has anyone else found the representatives you talk to when you call member services are rude and have an attitude? I found myself dealing with 2 very non pleasant women this past week when finalizing my vacation.

From time to time, yes. For the most part they are exceptionally friendly. I do, admittedly, hold Disney to a higher standard.

In any business you will have employees that are friendly, knowledgeable, not friendly, and some may need additional training. Currently MS seemes to be over worked and short staffed so that may be part of the problem.

There are currently 28 or so new CM's in training for MS which should help.

I don't call MS anymore, I book online and send instructions to MS via the contact form on the member website.

Wow, 28 new CMs at once, this should be quite an adventure.

When you do encounter a rude, not helpful CM do you respond to the survey with your dis faction?

My experience has been consistently positive when dealing with Member Services. My most recent experience was spectacular!

And I always participate in the follow up surveys.

Thank you for the information. I will be sending an email to them. I had recently called to add thr dining plan to my reservation. I had about 700.00 in gift cards left over from our last vacation and I wanted to apply them to the cost 9f the dining plan. The woman who was helping me had an attitide the minute she realized I had so many gift cards. At first she told me I could only use 1 and then a credit card, when I read her the email I received from member services that stated I was allowed to use multiple gift cards for payment of my dining plan she put me on hold for about 5 minutes then came back on with a really big attitude. Then midway through the transaction started questioning me as to why I had so many gift cards and where I got them from. The while thing was just uncalled for. I never encountered anyone like that when I called disney.

I think that Disney again has put themselves between a rock and a hard place. Gift cards were never intended to be used in large quantities, they thought that people would get them as a gift from someone and use them at Disney or better yet, get misplaced and never used.

Nothing wrong with playing by Disney's rules and saving some money by buying gift cards. I'm sure that Disney is looking at the benefits of the program and once decided, they will either modify the policy or leave it as is.

It's more of a disconnect between Disney and retailers who sell the cards. Target--in particular--occasionally allows shoppers to buy Disney gift cards at discounts of 5-10%. $200 is significant savings when paying for a $2000 vacation.

Problem is Target only stocks cards in $50 denomination. That $2000 comes in the form of 40 gift cards which must be communicated to a Cast Member.

The frustration is somewhat understandable but Disney needs to take some action to address it. They either need to establish a firm policy on how many cards can be accepted for one transaction or they need to better train staff to deal with it.

I know some locations at the parks have functional limits to the forms of payment they can accept. (At least they did at one time...it's conceivable that the NextGen tech enhancements have addressed that shortcoming.) When making several AP purchases over the years, I was consistently told that they could only accept 3 forms of payment: 2 gift cards + credit card...or something along those lines.

When I called to pay my dues last January , I told CM I was paying with gift cards and they asked me if I wanted to read the #s or write them down and fax it over . Writing and faxing seemed a helluva lot simpler with less room for error so I did that.
Now that may be a different desk than the reservation lines I forget, but they were quite helpful ! In fact in my 3 short years of being DVC member I can say I have a 98% satisfaction rate on the phones .

Or even better, they could add gift cards as a payment method on the website, so 1 or 100 would make no difference.

. I completely agree! I pay for my Disney Cruises online with gift cards. Super easy. It's a shame our DVC website doesn't allow that feature. I would think it would be welcomed by Member Services Cast Members.

I just made three separate reservations for my siblings and us for our winter trip. Spent a lot of time on calls with member services. The CMs I worked with were fabulous! I did do the survey because positive feedback is so important too!

This is true of all Disney CM's - either CRO or DVC. Pre-DVC I'd just hang up on a rude CM and re-dial until I found someone who was willing to take my reservation in a cheerful manner. Frankly, my very first DVC CS wasn't very good but I'd figured they''re all paid the same and treated it the same was as my pre-dVC.

I have always been very pleased with the CM's, I called Tuesday of this week requesting assistance. I had made a purchase on the resale market of Bay Lake points, I had been told by the title company that it would be approx. another two weeks before I received by member number and points transfer from Disney. The resort name and member number showed up on my online sign in, but the points did not appear. The CM was very helpful, the points showed up on my account with in 10 minutes and I was able to go ahead and book a 1 bedroom at BLT for May.
I am getting excited. 121 days until I have 7 nights at Kidani Village followed 6 months later by 6 nights at BLT.
