I can't believe it, I bought three clearance items that were all supposed to be $3.00 (marked way down). And the third IDENTICAL item I bought was miss tagged and obviously mispriced ($18 dollars and odd cents). :earseek:
I just checked my receipt and the price. Wal*mart definately goofed and put the wrong tag on this top. UGh!

My question is, do you all know what Wal*Mart's pricing guarantee is? Don't they refund you 100%+ if you catch them at their mistake? :confused3

I checked Wal*Mart's website and can't find any info I'm looking for.

Thanks all. :wave2:

In my experience, Walmart has been good in correcting their mistakes, don't know about the 100% thing though, I have never expected all my money back, just the difference in what was supposed to be paid.

As a former Wal-Mart cashier, I can tell you that the official policy for handling pricing errors is such:

Give the item to the customer at the price it's marked/tagged at.

If the customer asks, you then discount the item by $3.00. If the item is $3.00 or under, it's free.

You have to bully them to get that, though. We were told in no uncertain terms that if we volunteered that info to a customer, our job would be on the line.

Hope this helps! :)

I'll try negotiating later today. I think what's got me more upset is the shirt was tagged wrong and if I hadn't looked at the (wrong) tag, W-Mart would've gotten a lot more money out of me than they should've. If any thing, I'll be returning a $18.odd cent shirt for a $3.00 one

Thanks all for looking at this thread.

It is 200% back if it is produce. I bought a watermelon one time and when I got it home and cut it, it was rotten inside, so I took it back and got DOUBLE my money back!

Don't know the policy for wal-mart but Kroger's is sopose the give you the item for free if it rings up wrong--but they act like it's your fault the item was marked wrong??? :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: give me a break.....

::yes::

I bought a 2 gallons of milk the other day and it rang up 7 cents different than what the sign read - I laughingly pointed it out and the clerk said to take it to customer service so I did - I got one gallon free and my 7 cents back on the other...

I don't know if that helps

But that policy is on a BIG sign right on the register...nearly impossible to miss. It doesn't seem like they are trying to hide it. I use it all the time! (good for me, bad for Walmart!)

Our Wal*Mart had those signs all over the place too (above the registers etc.), but recently, I've noticed the yellow signs (regarding pricing guarantee) have diappeared. Make you want to go, hmmmmm. :rolleyes1

I work for Walmart and the pricing guarantee doesn't apply to clearance merchandise. Regular price merchandise you will get $3.00 off if the item is over $3.00 if under $3.00 you get it for free.

Unlike another poster we do tell our customers about the policy. I guess it depends on the store management.

Stop and Shop has this policy but they never adhere to it unless YOU tell them about their own policy that is posted on the signs at check out
