Is there a dish washing station - or other arrangements in the tent loops? I understand there is water right at the sight - but what about the waste water? Thanks - Whip
I've always just washed the dishes right at the site with the water hose and dish soap, it didn't generate a much gray water and it seemed to drain just fine.
But I never had to wash much at one time, usually just one or two things.
No, there is no drain on the partial hook up sites. There was a sign over the big sink in the laundry room saying no dishwashing. We collect our grey water and either dump it at an unoccupied full hook up site or in a toilet in the comfort station.
It is kind of a pain. It would cost next to nothing for Disney to have 1 full hook up type setup by each of the comfort stations in the partial loops so we could dump grey water with out having to go looking for an empty site.
We often camp while backpacking and so we sometimes do not have anywhere to dump gray water and carrying it out along with all our trash would be let's just say extremely heavy so we dump at our site away from any natural water but we also we use an environmenally friendly detergent - we also use it at home and it works just fine. When yout in the "wild" we use as little water as necessary to get the job done.
If you worry about the waste, then just wash it at the faucet. That's what we do. Then again we usually are just having a bowl of cereal before hitting the park.
I'm pretty sure that grey water waste is against the law to be dumped on the ground in the state of Florida,,I do know for sure it is against Disney policy.
If it were ME,,I would ask at check in what to do,,I'm sure they must have a system,,I would NOT dump it on the ground ,,think about it, if EVERYONE did that with the dish water, you have food particals on the ground, which after time could stink if enough people did this,,attrack bugs (you do not want ants), and possible animals .
I for one would not want to happen to walk into or thru or have any children walk into the old dumped grey water waste.
Could you accumulate the grey water in a container? then take it to the toilet and dump it?
In a system like this? http://www.campingcomfortably.com/gsi-camp-gourmet-kitchen-table.html
When we tent camped I used 2 buckets (sink tubs)-one for the soap and one to rinse. Then dumped both when I was finished. I did use disposable plates, and plasticware and washed the pots.
Just a thought
