*Attention* Stephanie Plum fans!

My Mom has been telling me to read these books for such a long time.

I guess she isn't the only one reading them.:D

I LOVE this series!!!!!
Can't wait to read '10 Big Ones':Pinkbounc

I took #s 5 - 6 - 7 on vacation and read them all! Time to get #s 8 & 9 in paperback and then I'll buy #10! I LOVE these books!

Are these the "One for the Money" "Two something something something" books? I've heard of them...saw them at the bookstore the other day. Good? Just might have to start reading them...:)

Those are the ones. I haven't read them, but have heard ALL about them. (Mom is a huge fan).:D

Great news, I hope our book store gets it before I fly, it would be great for our 12 hours of flying to the US.

I'm impatiently waiting for them to make a movie based on this series.

As far as people who read them, a lovely friend of my mothers, a very prominent community citizen, monstrously wealthy, a bit stuffy and proper, exquisitely and beautifully dressed at all times, what you'd probably call upper UPPER UPPPPER class......let on that she lays in bed at night reading these and laughing herself to sleep.

I guess that tells you we're in good company, huh? :p

:crazy: :p :teeth: ::yes::

I love Stephanie Plum! DH grew up in Chambersburg (we were just there today) and I am part Hungarian and have had many hamsters, so I identify with Steph!

Just read a review of "Ten Big Ones"--more violence, fewer laughs than usual. I'm sure I will enjoy it.

If you are ever in Chambersburg and want to visit "Tasty Pastry," it does not exist, but "Little Italy" on Hamilton Avenue seems to be the shop Evanovich based it on.

You know how some books in a series seem to get weaker as time goes on - sort of like the author is running out of ideas. Well this series seems to get BETTER with each book.

Someone gave me the first 2-3 books and I wasn't all that impressed - they were okay but I wasn't totally sold. I bought 4,5 and 6 on audio tape (can't remember the actress who reads them but she's someone with a real Jersey accent and a flair for Stephanie) and I just fell in love with them.

I especially love Lula and Grandma Mazur. (but it's Ranger I would like to meet in real life).

Thanks for the heads up. Didn't realize another book in the series was coming out. Just went online with my county's library system and got on the list for the book. There's already 113 on the list and they haven't even gotten the books yet!!! Looks like they've ordered 22 copies so hopefully the wait won't be too long.

I'm #29 for the large print edition and #84 for the regular print. Just a little trick I learned when reserving popular books at the library - get on the list for both editions. Fewer people request the large print. Of course they get fewer books in the large print but I still usually get it first. :)

Sorry, I have to disagree about the Stephanie Plum books. After reading one through eight in sequence, by the time "To The Nines" came around, guess I burned out on the the Joe > Steph < Ranger triangle. :bored: The concept of a girl bounty hunter of average height and build, no particular skills, and very bad luck with cars grew tedious. Maybe it's the romance aspect that doesn't work for me.

Ranger is hot and cool at the same time. He can get (and apparently has had) just about any woman he wants. Steph seems like a bit of a dim bulb, the stereotypical Damsel In Need of Being Rescued. It's all just too Harlequin.

I prefer Sharyn McCrumb's more intelligent female characters.

I like your hat, arminnie! ;)

Yup, I just went online today too! 103 holds for the regular book and 17 holds for the large print. I requested the large print. I never thought of requesting both. Hmmm.

Works great! Whichever book comes first I just cancel the hold on the other and someone else bumps up a notch. I'm hoping a few other people who are in line in front of me are using the same strategy so I'll be reading about Stephanie and her pals (& new enemies!) even sooner!! ;) :)

my mom loves this series I only read the last one. I'll have to let her know a new one is out:sunny:
