Attention: Claustrophobia sufferers

I will admit Sum of All Thrills is much tighter. Somehow it just didn't freak me out as much as MS-orange. I was so worried about squeezing my hips into the Sum Thrills that I forgot to pay attention to the shoulder harness. Plus, MS puts a lot of pressure on your body, Sum doesn't.

Sum has a "tester seat" off to the side of the ride so you can see how the seat feels. Look for it. I didn't see it until after I had waited in line for 20 minutes and then, I couldn't get out of line to try it. I even talked to a CM at Sum and asked him if I could just get back in line if I ran over and tried the seat. He was fully capable of letting me out (I was at the front of the line at that point) and back in, but he wouldn't. So, just an FYI to look for the tester seat before getting in line.

I didn't ride Mission Space last time I was in WDW and I'm not sure I would. I never really liked wild rides but also never thought I had claustrophobia until I had an MRI done. It was weird, because the enclosed MRI is so tight it makes you feel like you can't breathe even though I could feel the air moving through the tube. I knew I had to deal with it because I had severe numbness in my left arm and extreme neck pain. If you have ever had an MRI how does that compare to this ride? I think I could manage it but that MRI really made me understand what that phobia is like.

I did MS orange for my son once (and only once) and almost lost it in full blown panic attack mode. I talked myself out of it and didn't melt down, but I knew I would never do it again. I have NEVER done Stitch or the Thrills thing, but have no problem with any other ride anywhere in the World. I've been stopped on rides and never had a problem. I just know the rides I absolutely can not do and avoid them!

Mission Space is cavernous compared to Sum of all Thrills

I think you are right about this, but I got a panicky feeling in MS when the simulator closed up but did not in SoaT - not sure why.

When DD was 34 we took her & her DH to WDW. We went on MS. DD was doing OK in the line, OK when we got into capsule, but as soon as the doors started to close & the panel started to come down in front of us she went into full blown panic attack mode. She starte screaming "I'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE!" I told her it was too late, got a barb bag ready for her & one for me because if she did, I would too. Told her to control her breathing, keep her eyes open as much as possible & look straight ahead. She made it through, but declared she would never go on it again. She was our team leader, so she bought all of us the crew tags from the gift shop with our assigned stations on them to remember our ride.

Same trip, TOT. She started to go into panic mode in line. Told her to breathe. She was doing fine till the 1st drop. From that point on, all she did was scream bloody murder. I always giggle. When the ride stopped and it was time to get off, we had to peel her hands from the bar. They were white & cold. It was hard to tell if her face was pale, because this is a girl who works nights and stays out of the sun as much as possible, so she is normally almost white.:goodvibes Again, she said she wouldn't ride this ride again either.

Never did get her on Space Ship Earth (It was closed during our trip), which she didn't do when she was down in 9th grade, because someone from her school told her it was a ROLLER COASTER. I really wanted her to see what it really was.

I got a little nervous on RNR Roller Coaster at DHS last time.. That is a tight little seat and when the bars come down it gets really closed in.. I was ok once it started but if it would have had an issue and got stuck for any reason. There is no way I could sit in that seat for more than 5 minutes with that shoulder bar in place!

I have "issues" after you go up the stairs in line, into the area that looks like a tent and there is that tiny room where you wrap around 1x. It makes me sick to my stomache and makes me break into a sweat if I have to stand in it too long. The low ceilings and wall to wall people just really gets to me in that tiny room when things stop moving. I try and leave a little space in front of me between my group and the previous group, but that is often difficult to do when you have a long line of people behind you trying to inch up. I once got stuck on the back wall of that room for 20 minutes while the ride was down. It has hot and crowded and tight. I thought I was going to have to make a break for the door, or passout..one or the other. Luckily, the line started moving and I could get to the window area where things open up.

Just a word of warning for those who have severe claustrophobia-watch out for the TSM small room.:flower3:
