My DH doesn't drink very often, but when we are at Disney (not having to drive) he likes to have a beer with dinner. I was wondering if anyone can suggest some really good beers for him to try. He usually just goes with Heinekin or something he knows, but I think he would enjoy trying something new. Here is a list of the restaurants we will be dining at......

Cali. Grill
Tutto Italia
Brown Derby
Jiko
Biergarten
LeCellier

I would really like to be able to suggest a few to him, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Melissa

My DH doesnt care for beer either but while staying at the AKL he fell in love with Tusker Beer. I know Boma, Jiko, and the bars at AKL have it

Stop by Rose & Crown before any Epcot restaurant for a pre dinner drink and order a "Black and Tan" beer. It's half pale ale and half dark beer. I usually drink Yuengling and I thought this was a tasty beer. ME WANT MORE BEER MMMMMMMM. Heres a pic..

My Dh had the Italian Beer at Tutto Italia and loved it so much he bought a 6 pack at home!

He doesn't remember the name but it did have a picture of a man on the label if that helps!

Ask the waiter/waitress for suggestions. They will be able to look at what he's eating and ask what kinds of beer he likes and suggest a few that they have.

We have done this many times, esp when wanting to try something new, and when it's on tap we usually get a small sample before committing to the entire glass.

The Biergarten sells a beer flight, which consists of four small glasses of draught beer/ale. I believe that two are usually light beers (say lager, pilsner or pale ale) and two are dark (like boch). Your DH can sample what's on tap this way, then order a full glass of whichever one he enjoys most. Fyi, Raglan Road and Big River Grille also serve "flights" of beer if you guys enjoy sampling.

Years ago, LeCellier had Moosehead on tap. Not sure if it still does. They also served a hard cider that was very good. It tasted like an apple-y champagne. :)

omgoodness, Le Cellier...

La Fin du Monde
Maudite
Blanche de Chambly
Trois Pistoles

and of course...
Draft Moosehead Pale Ale

:goodvibes

Thanks so much for all the great information. I love the idea of a sampler!
Cheers to you all.......:drinking1

At California Grill try a Sierra Nevada Pale, or Anchor Steam.
And I think that "man on the bottle" beer at Tutto was either Peroni or Moretti.
Last time we ate at Brown Derby I had a Kirin draft.

I am traveling for work or I would ask DH. He is a beer drinker and likes to try the different beers, especially in the countries in World Showcase. Almost always he will try the National beer of the country we are in. He likes some more than others, which is why I would ask him if I could.
The only three I can remember specifically are the Kirin Ichiban in Japan, the Moosehead in Canada and the Kroneborg in France. He loves something in the UK but I don't remember the name of it.
Did you know that in WS many of the countries sell beer in an outside stand that you can drink as you stroll around WS lagoon? It is lots of fun and a great way to safely (no driving :) )sample many different beers.
Have a Great Trip.

This has nothing to do with your ADR's, but, we tried the sampler at the R&C Pub last year. I was really excited about this, because I have never tried Guiness before, I'm a Bud Light girl.

I thought I was drinking burning wood. It tastes, to me, like burnt wood. I hated it, and most of the other samples. I did like the Bass Ale though.

I heard the beer in Norway was really good.

The samplers are the way to go, Ive found several new beers that I really liked this way

Biergarten offers a lager (Beck's) that is similar to Heinekin. With that in mind, I love the Optimator at Biergarten. It's darker, but has a good taste. My suggestion would be to ask the server for recommendations. Or ask for a specific type of beer...such as lager or pale ale, etc.

If he knows what he likes, then he should be able to tell the server and the server can give him a suggestion. Some locations do give a small taste to see if you like it. You have to ask for it, but...that's an option as well.

Also...the beer flight at Biergarten is good to try what they offer. Then you can order a liter at that point. I always go with the liter because it's the best buy. :)

We tried the samplier of beers.....The wait staff was sooo great.

One of the beers was a weisen (sp?), well they put lemon in it....it was sooooo good, we buy it at home and we have it special. I think it came in light and dark. I am usually a bud light or coors light girl, but I looooove weisen light!!!:cool1:
Cheers!!!

If you are afraid of Guinness (my favorite) have a black and tan (guinness and bass ale) or a half and half (guinness and harp). Both names have political significance in Irleland that I will not get into here but they both taste mighty good!! :thumbsup2
Becks in germany is yummy too and Kirin or Sapporo in Japan.

Definitely get the hefeweissen on draft at the Biergarten. After drinking that, most of the other stuff won't even deserve to be considered beer. ;)

Was it Peroni? DH liked that one so well he made me take a picture of the bottle so we wouldn't forget, and as it turns out, the place I go for good wine carries it. :-)
