Attention all 10/12/03 4night Wonder Cruisers! Sign in here!

My friends, fear not!! I myself have posted many of these disturbing messages, and I assure you, I am completely harmless... as far as you know.

It's Tim the 'tarzanman' you should beware of. He and his DW Kamgen are certifiably nuts. Total basket cases that have no business roaming free amongst society. They should be locked up, sedated, and given intense shock therapy.

Other than that... quite pleasant folks, both of them!

We're on the 10/12 cruise too. My dh & ds(2) and inlaws. For those experts, my questions are
1. We will be at the POR for the first 7 days, do we get a car or hope the bus gets us there at 11:30ish?
2. What spa experience is recommended?
3. Are any of the excursions worth the $$?
4.Tell us what a typical day is like.

Less than 60 days, I'm so excited. Though I know it will be here before I know it and over even faster. So I guess I should book my next trip:p

Welcome Meme!!

We have always taken a towncar or limo from Disney resorts to the ship, but not because we don't trust the busses - we just prefer the comfort of the private car. I don't think you'll have any problems getting their on time with the Disney bus.

I am no expert on spa treatments, but I am sure others here can answer that for you. I know that Kamgen will when she returns!

As far as the excursions, we tend to do most things on our own, for a whole lot less money than a Disney excursion. What sort of things are you interested in? Snorkeling? Sight seeing? Maybe we can make a recommendation or 2 based on what you're looking for.

A typical day on board ship could take me hours to describe! :)

There is so much to do... no 2 days are alike, really. We enjoy spending time by the pool, participating in a game, such as Disney trivia or Bingo, etc., maybe see a movie, enjoy a great dinner in the dining room, and then get the kids settled down before the night life starts to get going! Then it's comedy shows, karaoke, or maybe a quiet drink in the piano bar. There's are so many possibilities! Now that you have me thinking about it, I can hardly wait to go again!! :)

8 more weeks from today.

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is going to fly by. I just got an upgrade today from cat 11 to cat 9. I was excited but I think I got a noisy room #2042 any info and advice would be appreciated.

Beano~ I just wanted to share that my nick name is Beana. I got it living south of you in my childhood. I also have a two cousins Brama and Pepta:smooth:

Hmmmm, I'm not sure what to make of our similar nicknames...

I guess people in Central California have a lot of indigestion. :)

Thanks for the info.
For the excursions I think we just want to sight-see. I am a beach person but the in-laws are not. I thought maybe we could split up but this is their first cruise & island visit and they are up there in age so I better keep an eye on them.

I'll await kami's info on spa treatments. Do you feel Palo is a must? maybe the in-laws will babysit and my dh & I can steal a few romantic moments.

I booked through disney and have not received my info yet, should I call? I'd love to see an upgrade.

I'm going to make a countdown calendar this week. What sail-away drink should I count on first?

Welcome aboard Tessa!! Don't be afraid we are all really fun people. Especially me!!!!!! Ha ha!

Welcome to our group all you newbies! :)
Well, here is my take on a few things:

1. Palo- MUST DO IT! It is a wonderful place with fabulous food and service. Well worth the additional fee and the ressie scramble!

2. Spa- MUST DO IT! Heaven on earth it is! :) I love the Spa Taster and find it worth the money (1/2 massage and 1/2 facial). Also, the Surial bath is fun if you share it with that special someone.....;) ;) ;) ;)

3. Excursions- we usually go to Nassau on our own, shop and walk around, then take advantage of the 1/2 empty ship! As for CC, we have snorkeled there and it was nice, but I love to just relax and enjoy the island!

Cannot wait to cruise...this looks like a fun group! :)

I just called DCL and made my excursion ressies for our 7-day cruise... this is starting to sneak right up on us!

We leave 7 weeks from thursday!! :)

Hmmm.....Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me, you guys. (Cartman)

Big partier the Lama. 20 or 30 drinks he can down and still walk. Talk even. Gunga, Gungalunga he says as he stumbles down the stairs. I am experiencing total consciousness.

Hello everyone.....

The time is getting closer and I can't wait! First let me explain, I am Beanoc's DW (Ronniejo2003)....yes he really has one!!! I've been reading all the posts and cannot wait to meet all of you!!!

We are gonna have soooo much fun!!!

Party time with the mouse!

I am so glad to see you Renee!! Finally-proof that Beano has a dw! LOL!!!! :)

Can't wait to see you Ronnie baby! :p Party time is just around the corner:cool:

Ok, I guess I better re-register my DW so she doesn't have to post under my name!

I registered her about 2 months ago, but never got the required email from the DIS to activate it, so she can't log on - and they will not respond to my emails asking to fix it, so I guess I better start over! Can't use the same nick, though, because they say it's taken!

Tim - I am worried about you, man. (Murray) you need a vacation, I think.

(Yoda) Cruise with Beano. Help you it will.

HI Renee:

Wow, you are quite a courageous woman! Honestly Renee, was the money that Beano's family paid you to marry him worth it ? I hope it was a lot of money. You deserve more! Renee, when you met Beano, did you ask him to change his name to something....well, more normal? I have so many unanswered questions for Beano's better half.

I look forward to meeting you!

:p

Hi Renee,
This is Maureen from last years cruise. Just wanted to welcome you to our cruise chat board and tell you we can't wait to see you and your family again.

Just a little more than 7 weeks to go. I know my kids are psyched to see yours.

(Renee) Maureen......

Myself and my kids cannot wait! The kids keep making plans, who knows what they'll come up with this year!

(Renee) Takemeaway.....

Would you believe that no payment was necessary! Can't help myself......I just love my Beano! Can't wait to meet you:p

For all you experienced cruisers.

Is there an automatic 15% gratuity charge on drinks? I have heard other cruises do this. And what about at Palo? for the meal?

How much should I plan for drinks? I loveeeee margaritas though I have recently had a passionate affair with cosmos. And what about bringing alcohol on board? on the airline?

Can you tell where my priorities are:p

Who better to answer this one than me? LOL

Yes, there is a 15% gratuity added on automatically, although I found myself tipping more anyway... sometimes.

As for how much $$ to plan on, that depends on how much you can hold! ;) Margaritas, etc. will run you $4.00 - $4.50 each.

There is no problem with bringing your own alcohol on board. I have actually seen people rolling hand-carts on board with cases of beer strapped to them. What I have done though is just grab a 6 pack or 2 in port and bring it aboard. Even with the refillable beer mug it gets pretty expensive to buy it on the ship!
