Welcome to the group Garytam! You will see that some of us have cruised together before! We are so excited to meet some more DIS friends!
We all plan to meet for the sailaway! Hope to see you! :)

Welcome, Garytam!

We have 2 kids coming along also, but they're older... I guess cuz WE'RE older! We can't keep up with all you young'uns.

Our DS is 13 DD is 11. Our daughter adores younger kids, and is already wanting to babysit at 11 years old, so she'll enjoy spending time with the younger kids.. whenever she and Ro (MO64RN's DD) aren't running around acting crazy!

See you at the sailaway party! :)

Speak for yourself Beano about being older!!!!! We just had our kids very young so we are still young.(VERY YOUNG!!!!!) Age is a very sensitive issue to me lately.

What is the deal about the MNSSHP? I have no clue. What's it all about? Denine sent me an email everyone was to meet.

I am starting to get really excited about this cruise. Any day now I will be taking out last years DVD to get me pumped.

Welcome Garytam to this crazy group.

Beano, I am older than you. I just started having kids very late...couldn't find anyone to marry me. Had to beg DH to marry me. Got him drunk one night and he finally said, "I Do". Then the kids came, and well, half my life is over. (sobbing hysterically) Boy, do I need a vacation.

Maureen, MNSSHP is short for "Mickeys NOt So Scary Halloween Party" at the Magic Kingdom. I am gonna paste the information for you:

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place from 7 p.m. to midnight on selected nights at the Magic Kingdom® Park. Fun that's far-from-frightening, you're in for a bunch of treats...and a few tricks too. Come see Mickey and the gang in a special Halloween Parade. Enjoy Halloween-themed entertainment and unlimited use of the most popular Magic Kingdom attractions! Your Disney friends will even be decked out in their not-so-scariest costumes, so feel free to wear yours* as well. Separate admission is required for this event, so book now or call (407) W-DISNEY (934-7639)† to get your tickets today. Because missing out... well, that would be scary!

*For safety, please choose costumes that are not obstructive or offensive.

We already got our tickets last month. Sounds like a good time. I
was a little bummed because I was hoping to see some offensive costumes. Oh Well, maybe next time.

*Please remember, do not take anything I say seriously...Thank you...The Management.

Hi Rose,

I knew what the abbreviation was. I just never knew of anyone who ever went, how it was, or what is was all about. So you can ride the attractions? Hmmm, sounds interesting.

No need to be sorry Rose. Have you guys ever gone? Is it any good? When are you going?

It is going to take a lot to convince my DH to go so I NEED to know all about it. Like I said I knew what it stood for but never heard anything about it.

WE are going Thursday, October 16th. I have never been. I think it will be fun for the kids to run around Disneyworld in their halloween costumes and to see all the characters dressed up for halloween. We have season passes to DisneyLand so we were looking to do DisneyWorld but in a different way.

I am sure others will be able to tell you if it was worth the money or not.

Hope you and the family are doing well. I see you are heading for Vero Beach soon for your husband's birthday. Should be a nice time for the family.

Your kids start back to school 2 weeks eariler there. My oldest son starts August 18 with 2 weeks off in October. They call it a modified school schedule and I love it.

As I understand it, they open "the 'E' rides" during the Halloween party. Those of you over 30 might remember what the heck an 'E' ride is!!

Rose - remember going to D'Land when they had ride tickets? :)

Anyway... Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted House, Pirates, etc. should be open for our enjoyment. That, and watching Paul trick or treat should keep us amused.

And now, on with the countdown.

Hi, got a question on the ticket to the Halloween party, does it include park admission starting at 7:00 pm or do I need the park ticket on top of this extra ticket for the Halloween party ???

Thanks
Gary

Actually Beano, unlike enight, almost all of the rides are open for the party......even Fantasyland and Toontown! :)
We went to MVMCP in 2001 and LOVED it! I am sure this will be just as much fun! :)

Cannot wait to go!

I say we all plan to meet at Haunted Mansion around 9pm! We can all go on HM together!!!!!!! :)

What you guys think??

Are the lines really long or do they limit the admission for this event? I hate waiting on long lines.

Hey Maureen! The lines at MVMCP were not bad at all.....

They limit how many tickets they sell! Plus we plan to watch the second parade (10:30) instead of the first....most families watch the first, so at that time we will hit some rides!!! :)

The festivities include parades, shows, trick or treating, rides and fireworks! Should be a great time!!! :)

I can only speak for MVMCP and that was so much fun......riding BTMRR was awesome in the dark! :)

Special shows and parades, this is what they had last year:
Boo-To-You Parade - A special parade for the little ones to show off their costumes with a character - 7:30, 9:30 and 10:15
Adults and Children Trick-or-Treat
Fortune Tellers in Adventureland
Halloween Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks at 9:15
Halloween Riverboat Ride - with strolling musicians and characters - 7:15, 8:15, 9:35, 10:20, and 11:30
Diamond Horseshoe Saloon Halloween Revue - 7:30, 8:30, 9:20, 10:15 and 11:05 (not sure if this will be this year, since it now houses Goofy’s New Country Dance Party)
Donald's Pumpkin Patch - located behind the Christmas Shop in Liberty Square
Cinderella's Coach - set up behind the castle (this is REALLY cool)
Cinderella's Surprise Celebration - the same show as shown during the day (don't remember time)

HI Gary: Separate admission is required for this "Special Event." You can order your tickets now and they will send them to you. That way you can make sure you get in.

Yes Beano, I do remember the wonderful E ticket. If my memory serves me correctly, seems like we always had a lot of A's and D's left. I wish I had kept some of those tickets. They can be sold on ebay for $20 or more. Then, I could be as rich as you Beano.

I also remember as a kid thinking "Mr Lincoln's Theater" was the neatest thing. Now I take the kids there and they ask, "When is he gonna blow up? Is he head gonna come off?" Awwwww, the simple things

Let me see if I get this right. If I want to go to the party only(going at 7:00pm), I will have to pay $50.00 or so for the admission to MK and then $25.00 for the party ? That is kind of expensive for couple hours.

Gary

Gary,
No...you don't need regular MK admission...only a MNSSHP ticket....gets you in for the party! :)

I had to share the good news. DD8's school had orientation today. While I was there I talked with them about her missing four days out of school for the cruise and trip to disney (Friday is teacher work day) to see what the reaction would be. I knew if the school didn't go along with it my DH would want to change the trip. Well I was told that this would be considered an educational experience. She will have to keep a journal while she's gone. Isn't that great. I thanked God all the way back to work. Just had to share. Yahoooooooooo!

tweetsie- congrats! I am so happy!! :)

I wish more schools would think that way....in my opinion, family trips are so important.
And sometimes during the school year is the only time the parents can vacation.....

Awesome! :)

I agree, Kamy - and our kids will miss two full weeks of school for this trip! They love it, of course. We are more worried about next year, because our DS starts High School. Not sure if he should miss a week of school, so early in the year, as a H.S. freshman. Oh well, we'll worry about that later! All I know is we are going this year! In about 2 months, as a matter of fact! But who's counting?

Oh yeah - I am!
