Can anyone give their opinion on where the best place to be is?? The best view. Which floor? Which Savannah? Hurry, I leave in 2 days!

Karen, we were on the Arusha Savannah and giraffe trail ..lobby level. It was a great location b/c we were close to the elevators and could get to the pool, Mara and the laundry room quickly. We thought the view was great. Some think the higher floors were better. It was great! Good Luck and have a wonderful trip.

We always stay on the Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail, overlooking the Arusha Rock. The restaurants and pool are located on this side of the Lodge.

Take the time to roam around and enjoy the sights.

I'm assuming you are staying in a savannah view room?

I would say Zebra Trail facing the Arusha Savannah. I would choose Zebra Trail b/c that's on the side where the restaurants and pool are. Although, we have been on Kudu Trail and Ostrich Trail before and it wasn't a long walk.

Yeah what is up with people complaing about long walks? We walked from end to end and it was nothing. Maybe it was beacuse the first half of our stay was at POR.

We have stayed at AKL 2 times. The first time was in January 05. Our room was located on the 3rd floor (same floor as the lobby) on the Zebra trail. I think our room was located between 3423-3437. We thought our room had a great view. Tons of animals all the time. Many mornings we would wake up to 10 or so variety of animals, some very close to our room. We loved the AKL so much we decided to stay there again in October. Our room was on the 2nd floor on the Kudu Trail. We were a little disappointed at first with the room assignment because our other room was perfect we thought this one could not compare. We were wrong. Tons of animals all the time.. zebras, giraffes, you name it. We can't decide which room was better. From the luck we have it, it seems that a lot of the rooms have great views. Just remember to stress at check in that you really want to see the animals and it means a lot to you to have a room with a great view. I did this and the lady at check in gave me 3 or 4 rooms to choose from. Enjoy your stay. We love AKL!!!
