Hi - thinking of a trip mabybe in October of 2007. Ok, maybe a little last minute, but whatever. Where can I find attendance statistics for this time period. Don't want to go in the thick of the crowds.

Thank you! :wizard:

That's a pretty outdated attendance chart, as far as I'm concerned, and wouldn't base any major decisions on it. The last two years have brought "Halloween Time" to the resorts and MHT to DCA. This, in combination with many schools having Fall Breaks and year round school schedules having time off bring lots of people to the parks in October. It used to be a quiet time, but not so much anymore.

It won't be anywhere near as bad as Summer crowds or peak Christmas crowds, but don't expect an empty park. Weekends, of course, will be quite crowded as that it when all the local AP's go to enjoy the Halloween Time festivities.

We went last October, and although DL seemed a little crowded with people in the walkways, wait times were minimal (even for lines that looked really long). The longest line we stood in was 10-15 minutes, but most were 5 minutes or less. We did get fastpasses, but we never had to use them once during our whole 6 day trip (a Saturday-Thursday)

Of course DCA had NO crowds.:thumbsup2

I expect it to be similar this year, with the exception of Nemo, which will probably still have somewhat long lines.

The OP asked for statistics. They can be trended up, all one has to do is find the recent attendance from Disney and apply these to the trends.
Persdonal opinions are people impressions of what is going on in their minds. I have read post where people are freaking at the crowds when others would just think the crowd level is a normal level for that time of the year. October seems to be a lower paced time of the year other than Halloween. I would would listen to those who have been atthat time of the year and look at the trend.

I have read in recent posts the mid week crowds are less than last year at this time, we will see next week.

Sorry, Jack. I wasn't dissing your post :goodvibes , just mentioning the fact that the attendance chart you linked has been around forever and doesn't appear to have been updated at any point. I also have no idea where they get their statistics from and claim it can be used for WDW as well as DLR -- which I find totally unreliable. Scroll down the page and it mentions that Superbowl Sunday is one of the least crowded days in the park, UNTRUE.

I wasn't basing my advice on just opinion. I am a DLR trip planner and send many families to DLR all throughout the year. I base my advice on the experience of my clients as well as what I have read on the various disney fan sites over the past 5 years.

Of course the idea of "crowded" is different for each individual. I was just mentioning that the parks have experienced an increase in attendance in October over the past couple years.

Nothing to be sorry about. I wish we had experienced trip planners where I live but the ones we have go once and think they are experts. I have tried to use bits and pieces from a host of posters to try and make the experience(6 of us) pleasurable. Wish we lived closer and could get there more than once a year. I have found this board and couple of others valuable tools for making the busy times more workable. The updating is a job for "HYDROGUY" master planner. I would attemp it if I had more time.

Hey, whats the temp in AZ. It was 128 the day I left Basra.

Have a good one,

Jack

I'm in Phx, where the temp at 8:20 pm is 102 degrees. We're expecting a high of 107 tomorrow. Not as hot as Iraq, but probably hotter than Eastern WA.

Last week 98-107, this week 85-92 weird, usually much hotter. We leave Sat for a 20 hr.drive. Hoping the crowds are a bit down this year opposed to the last two, always can hope.

I agree... For one, i felt like Summer is less busier than Spring Break. Spring Break felt a lot busier than Winter break too... This is going by the sales from our department as well as the feeling... July 4th of this year wasnt too busy either... it was a shock to our department...

Thank you all for your insight. I totally forgot about the Halloween hoopla! Well, crowds or not, DL is always a blast...just different. ;)

haha, im sure your still trying to find an answer about Halloween time... I dont think anyone answered you yet...

I havent been there in Haloween 2005 but Haloween 2006 with the new decorations actually attracted more crowds but not at an alarming rate. Park should be pretty popular... but not as busy as high season. Dont forget that DCA closes at 6 for the Mickey's Haloween Treat...

One thing to keep in mind - is that Columbus Day weekend is usually very busy at DL - this year that is October 8th - so I'd scrap that whole week! With a three day weekend, it's easy for people to justify taking a couple extra days off for a three-five day DL trip.

Is this party every night or just some? Is it held on weekends?

It's not held every night and also not on Saturday or Sunday nights.

This years dates are Oct 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31. (the night of the 26th is already sold out).

Tickets cost $29 per person, and you can get them at the Disneyland website.

Hope that helps you out.:)

Thanks - I'm actually looking to avoid the park on the nights of the party. If I go to DLR, it will just be for a long weekend, and I don't want to plan a DCA night when it closes at 6.

FWIW, annual totals are also available on scottware on this page:

www.scottware.com.au/theme/feature/atend_disparks.htm

With DCA there to take extra people, and more rides at DLR than ever before, IMO DL is able to soak up more people while not seeming to be more crowded in the past.
