It's a new DVC property why would there be no appeal?

Theming and it being an extension of Wilderness Lodge pretty much. Just doesn’t seem “new” if you will. Also live in a mountainous area, so could just be me.

What’s nice about dvc is there is something for everyone. I’m withholding judgement of LL but I’m cautiously optimistic.

DVC members will be excited about ANY new DVC property new or old or anything for that matter.

But I guess I see what you are saying. What appeals to some doesn't appeal to everyone.

True. And I’m a new DVC member, so have all of the resorts to stay at.

We will see. DVC is a crazy thing. When it's the shiny new resort everyone is talking about and incentives are released you will consider it. May not cave any buy but you will consider it. Not everyone stays at their home resort.

Don’t want to be that person but what is the appeal of Lakeshore Lodge?

Where to start?! And I preface this list by saying I know I won’t buy LSL given resale restrictions now in place and that it will likely be tied to the cabins at FW which I wouldn’t want to compete with since I have no desire to stay in a cabin.

1. It’ll likely have a pool and lazy river that rivals storm along bay at Beach Club/Yacht club.
2. Boat to magic kingdom
3. Seems like it’ll have a number of different room types and views
4. Looking out on bay lake will be incredible
5. You’ll likely have fireworks views from certain rooms and the beach
6. Relaxed, modern theme
7. Hoop Dee Doo is walking distance and would be a must do every visit
8. Oh, and its new!?

And that’s fine. Every resort has its pros and cons. What you might not care for at LSL, there will be others that love it for those exact reasons.

My home resort - I love the poly, but I hate the points chart, and yet we still stay there the most because for my family, at this stage of our lives, it just makes the most sense with the pros outweighing the cons.

Exactly. I can understand lovers of Ft Wilderness hating on LSL but cant understand other DVC members hating on it outside of the trust.

Had to come up with something to take the heat off Riviera where they pulled off magically dropping the Mediterranean into the Caribbean.

The mistake was using the word “Lodge”. We now expect a lodge look, a lodge feel, in a location well themed to being Fort Wilderness. I would have accepted keeping to the original Reflections at Fort Wilderness. RFW.

Now we will be floating down the lazy river listening to “Just Around The Riverbend” on loop.

The lazy river is appealing for sure.

Seems like it wont hold a candle to Aulanis lazy river, but I am okay with that. I want Aulani to stay special.

I'm not asking for much but maybe a waterfall feature or a couple of small water spouts? I'll be honest I was pretty underwhelmed by SABs pool and it's lazy river when I stayed there so I hope it's a step up above that. I still love BCV but that's more for it's proximity to Epcot and the hot tubs.

I'm withholding judgment until we see the resort, the points chart, the dues, and the expiration date of the contract. I can't see myself buying prior to opening - I'd want to stay and experience the resort first, especially when buying direct at a restricted resort. I also have some hesitations with the trust product which, I presume, will be how LSL is sold.

But, never say never.

We were also underwhelmed by SAB. I’m excited for LSL to hopefully be a step above SAB.
