attack birds at pofq

did anyone else get attacked by birds at pofq? I was attacked twice over by the slide and my wife was attacked by 3 birds early one morning by the towel cart. they finally put up a sign warning guests on the last day we were there. I would love to hear some funny bird attack stories. my wife though I looked hysterical waving my towel and dropping to my knees. I wish I would have seen her reaction when she was bombarded by 3 of those suckers.

I was at PO Riverside on May 21/22 and we basically watched a re-enactment of a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds!!! first, one lone crow arrived and sat on a chairback watching two men eat. Then three crows appeared in the tree. Then 5 appeared in the tree. Pretty soon, there were dozens of black, shiny birds all cawing at the people eating. Some were on the roof, others in the tree. It was weird, and they were literally begging for food. Please, please, please DIS'ers, stop feeding the birds!!!!!!

Me & my husband were staying at riverside in early May & we were walking over the bridge next to the mill looking over at some turtles in the water, when an angry looking blackbird landed next to me, we walked on quickly past people eating when i felt a severe flapping on the back of my head, i coudnt believe what it was, my hubby thought it was hilarious. I moved swiftly to the lobby for cover!

We stayed at the POFQ last May, and there was one bird that constantly attacked people as they headed towards the food court or the main building. My mother and I would sit outside at the food court and watch the bird fly at people's heads as they walked by. But it did not bother you while you were sitting down, just as you were walking by. We thought that perhaps it was guarding its nest.

Back in 1999 when it was called Dixie Landing I was attacked by a mocking bird. I went to get breakfast for me and my wife and must have come to close to its nest. It waited until I passed and flew into the back of my head.
On my walk back I stared it down while it watched me, and again it waited until I passed and flew into the back of my head.
Then I threatened the bird by saying I was going to find a cat and come back. It must have worked because the next morning it left me alone.

Well this is just great, we are staying at POFQ at the end of Oct. and I am absolutley terrified of birds! I hate them with a passion! we were eating breakfast one morning at fountainview in Epcot, and all these birds were swooping down at me, no one else, just me! and this lady gets up from her seat, and starts putting food on the railing right by where I was sitting! I am not a violent person, but I thought I was going to have to give her what for!!

omg!! My daughter will freak if birds come flying at her. is it just when they see food or are they doing it at anytime?

if they have nesting or even mating - they will attack anything.

they even attacked my cat at FW....

I was hoping with the prey birds that WDW has now - that some of this behavior would stop.

but not many birds will take on a bunch of crows (okay incorrect term). Crows will and have attacked other birds together.

I was attacked within 15 min of arriving last friday, right in the head!!

I believe these birds have a nest with eggs somewhere close. We were worried about bird flu. If one of these things bit you could you get it? I think Disney should attempt to move these birds elsewhere before someone really gets injured. The attacks I am refering to had nothing to do with food being in the area.

WARNING !!! NEVER TOUCH WILD BIRDS OR ANIMALS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. THESE BIRDS, DUCKS, RABBITS AND SQUIRRELS SEEM FRIENDLY BUT THEY CARRY DISEASE AND CAN AND WILL BITE YOU!!!

We didn't have too much trouble with the birds, well, except for the one that flew over my DD and pooped on her! Our problem was with the ducks at POR. My DD is terrified of anything that has feathers! Guess they can all sense it and they seem to really want to get to know her!!! She and her DDs were at the quiet pool behind bldg. 18 and were on their way back to the room when I heard a bloodcurlling scream that I immediately recognized! I went out the door to see her running full bore for the room with a mother duck and three little ones running right after her!!! It seemed that everytime we went out the door, there were the ducks!!!! She has vowed never to stay there again!!!

Hi there

We stayed at POFQ in May 05, being smokers we sat outside a lot to eat food purchased at the restaurant, we were constantly under attack.

Perhaps the birds were anti-smoking

I thought I was the only one! I was "attacked" by a bird at POR in 2004....I was eating a bag of chips, waiting for a boat. The bird dive-bombed me and grabed the chip right out of my hand!
