ATT/Directv bundle price went up for me

Unfortunatey, we cannot live without either cable or satellite tv. All 3 parts went up by 20%. I called the Directv number on the bill and got that price back down. Seemed like ATT won't budge on home phone and internet(we have basic phone, no long distance and lowest speed on DSL).
When I called Directv, I said "What can you do to keep me a Directv customer?"

Sure you can live without it, you just don't wish to.

If you can afford it and you wish to keep it, but wish to pay less, I would keep calling or threaten to leave and speak with the retention office.

We ditched Directv once it got to $100/mo for services for what we wanted. We also ditched the home phone for Ooma ($3.80/mo.) and have cable internet only.

Got 20 knocked off Directv, and 23 off ATT, which makes it lower than before.

I can live without cable, DH thinks it is the more necessary than hot water. Should see him when I get mad at him and use the parent controls on his favorite channels which are Hallmark, ABC family, and all those rerun channels...it does get his attention. Once when I changed to the cable company and it didn't have "his" channels, I got nonstop whining from him--but when my internet/phone line went out 3 times in the first month and they said it was the cable line,had it marked in the yard and never fixed the issue is when I went back to ATT/Directv. They gave me a deal thinking they would harrass me until I came back. Now since I am not under contract I will call and call. Won't tell them that cable costs the same and we won't put another dish on our house.

I have AT&T for my phone and internet. I am so disgusted. I have terrible connection problems. They have my front yard torn up to repair a line, it has been two weeks, and they only work on it so often. I will be moving on in May. I don't have any cable, I have my roku box and don't miss paying for cable.
