Hi,

Are there ATMs at DLP? Just wondering if we should bring euros with us or if we can get euros from a machine there.

Thanks!

There are ATMs at the Village, Train station and in the arcade behind Main St USA. We used our card there but watch which bank you are with as you may face commission and transaction charges :)

There's also an ATM in Discoveryland just between Buzz Lightyear & the shop. It's very handy - perhaps a bit toooo handy

I''m very happy to know that there are several ATM's at the parks, since we don't use Euro's and will need to get out money from an ATM!

We always take some euros with us, mainly because we drive - for the tolls , incidentals like getting a bottle of water and possible emergency situations (foreign country, don't confidently speak the language etc) - Post Office does commission free reasonable exchange rate.
The banks do charge quite a bit when you use an atm abroad (usually hidden by the poor exchange rate they give!!) Also, we tend to use a credit card for all the purchases - (I know!! exchange rate poor too..though not as bad as for cash )That way, you know EXACTLY what the holiday has cost afterwards!! (mmmm - not so good sometimes).

No you won't but as mentioned before check with you bank to find out if they charge for the transaction so you don't get a shock when you get your statement.

That's why we have a Nationwide credit card and debit card specifically for holidays. There are no transaction charges and you get the business rate of exchange which is very favourable. We save a few hundred pound on our last holiday compared to what we thought we were spending. That is an even nicer surprise when you come home :goodvibes

mmmm sounds good - we only go abroad once a year, do you think they would allow only once a year usage??

Avid Tesco points collection means EVERYTHING else in my life gets put on that card..(and paid off each month of course).
The kids had to write in their school diaries if mum or dad collected anything! Guess what mine put!!! Tesco Points!

Cheers,
Tessa

I don't know where the OP is from, but good advice to check bank charges before leaving. I use my Bank of America/Deutsche Bank/BNP Parribas/Scotiabank relationship to withdraw cash with no fees aroudn the world

My credit card doesn't charge and we always get a really good exchange rate.

That's exactly how we manage it nationwide on holiday, tesco for food and petrol at home. It is those Tesco points that is paying for our Eurotunnel trip to DLP this year :goodvibes

Thanks Reid,

Every little helps - nationwide.co.uk here we come.... :thumbsup2

Unfortunately Tesco points don't cover Dover/Calais ferries :sad1: - we use ours for days out/trips to London etc....

Tessa

Sorry Reid -
in the small print - Dover/Calais and any other northern France ferry crossings are excluded from Clubcard deals (double :sad1: :sad1: ) Not fair!

Oops that was our other option if DP would not go on the Tunnel. Glad we didn't waste vouchers on the ferry.

Are the Atm,s BNP Paribus at the park?

My bank has no fees for Barclay's, BNP Parabus & Deutsche Bank !

honestly, I don't know. I use BNP Parribas all over Paris, and I think at Val d'Europe, but don't recall seeing their ATMs at DLRP. I would check their website
