Has anyone done the Atlantis Day tour? I wondered how it was? I know you can't use the pool, however, I wondered how the beach was and I thought you went through the aquarium? Thanks :cool1:

dimimi,

We have this booked for March 2006 so I don't know how it will work out, but someone suggested this. The Atlantis shore excursions don't give you pool access as well as some areas of the beach. We have booked a room for one day at the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island for around $240. We get full priviledges at Atlantis for up to four people because of an agreement between the two resorts. It will only be slightly more than the total shore excursion cost, plus we will have a place to go and change, relax or nap for the kids.

You can go to www.choicehotels.com and search for hotels on Paradise Island and the Comfort Suites will be one that pops up. We booked directly through them because Orbitz, etc. was no cheaper. On caveat is that you have to cancel three days prior in order to avoid charges, so if you can't dock that day, you're still stuck with the charge.

Something to think about.

We did the Atlantis excursion back in July '03. The beach is great, the aquarium is awesome!

On the downside, you take a ferry across to Paradise Island, and have to walk across the island to the resort. It's a long walk and we had a very large group so we had to stop several times to make sure we were all together. The guide walks you through the resort and pool area, pointing out where everything is, and then bring you to the beach and then you are on your own.

My Parents went to the casino while we took the kids to the beach. We met up a little later and toured part of the aquarium on our own, then headed over for the included lunch.

We only saw part of the aquarium, (shark tank area), decided to spend more time at the beach. Would love to go back again and see the rest of the aquarium.

Thanks for the great advice! My sons can't wait to go to Atlantis, but we don't want to book an entire week there. Thanks, I like the idea of booking the comfort suites!

It looks like Atlantis is only an option on the 4 night cruise? Am I reading this right? Thanks
