Atlantis Trade Question

Hi,

We've been looking into trading into Atlantis. I had a few people who own at Atlantis send me an email. One lady said she was planning on going to WDW and I asked her if she'd consider trading. She politely said no, she had trading into DVC through Atlantis.

Is this true? I thought we didn't trade through Atlantis anymore because it was too hard to get into. Is there one way trading?

I'm confused!

You have to learn some terms to understand. Atlantis is a resort and a timeshare (Harborside). Harborside was taken off the DVC II trade list due to lack of availability, Atlantis the resort was supposed to be on the CC but fell through. While DVC restricts trades to certain timeshares for DVC members, they do not restrict which II members can trade in other than those that own in the Orlando Area (for WDW). And they restrict island trades for HH. But if she wanted a trade, she would have been better off going with you. Choices of dates (including high demand), unit size, etc plus avoid both the exchange fee and extra $95 resort services fee. Of course that assumes what you wanted was a reasonable trade.
