Atlantis slides closed in Oct.?

Just read a post from someone who was saying that booking at the Comfort suites to use the Atlantis pools in Oct was a waste. They said that the slides were closed and the water was cold. Does anyone have similar (or dissimilar IHOPE) reponses?

I just looked at daily averages for Nassau on Weather.com. It says the average high for late October is 84'. Can't figure the report of 65'. It often gets warmer than that here where I live.

We called Atlantis this past sat to inquire about room rates. We also told them we were coming in October and wated to use the pools, slides etc. We were not told of any closure's. The water in the Bahamas is relativley warm year round. If not Disney wouldn't take cruise passengers to Castaway Cay to swim year round. I have heard that Typhoon Lagoon At in Disney World is closing in Oct for refurbishment.

Thanx for the info Terry. The other post had me a little nervous. I will probably call and check though in the next few days just to make sure, because otherwise I want to cancel the room.

i can't imagine they would be closed, but the surest way to find out is to call directly to Atlantis and ask them if the slides are open year round....simple question....

as for typhoon.....really?....in october?....they usually close it in january or february.......perhaps they need it to be closed during the building of Master Blaster (the new slide they're putting in this year)....

Our family will be vacationing at Atlantis Oct 13-19 this is our second time there and we love it! All slides are scheduled to be open in Oct. , the Mayan temple pool is likely to be the only one heated as it is just not generally cold enough to need to heat other pools.(just reconfirmed this with Atlantis before posting)If you are going,I hope you have a blast,we intend to! Height restrictions on big slides are enforced 48" Keep your eyes peeled for celebrities too,last time we were there in great company,Michael Jordan (part owner,frequent visitor) Chuck Norris,and a SLEW of professional athletes which was a thrill for my 11 and 12 yr old sons-OK yes Michael Jordan was a thrill for me too!!
