We have booked a room at the Comfort Suites in Nassau for our day at port in May, in order to use the Atlanta amenities.
Has anyone done this before, and if so, wouldyou recommend it?
Thx!

We didn't book a room at CS but got a day room at Atlantis...and loved it. From what I have heard you'll get the same perks as everyone that is a hotel guest at Atlantis...and since you already have your reservation booked...you won't have to waste fun time trying to get a day room.

Depending on who is in your group and what your wanting to do...depends alot on if it's worth it. For example you have to be 48" tall or taller to use most of the slides...and for those smaller slides that little ones can go on...most of them end up in DEEP water. The dig was nice...not the BEST aquarium ever...but good, and I'm glad we had a chance to go. We spent most of our time at the slides and dig...and didn't make it to the beach or other lagoons.

If your not wanting to spend any time at the pools, lagoons, slides or beach...you may just want to go to Atlantis on your own and explore the building...and some of the grounds (most of the grounds at Atlantis are off limits to non guests...and guarded at check points...so no sneaking in)

But over all we had a great time...DD6, DD11, DH and myself.

Yes, we booked a room at CS last Nov. 1. It worked out great! Kind of expensive for a day-room..but when you consider what you are getting...we went for it! Before we headed back to the ship, we all took a shower in the room, and then all we had to do was get dressed in our dinner clothes when we got back on board! It all worked out GREAT!! We loved the Atlantis!

I think with taxes (and there are quite a few!) we paid about $240.00. Not cheap, but when you start adding up excursion prices..it really isn't that bad. Plus, with any Atlantis excursion you purchase, none of them will allow you access to the pools/slides.

Price of day rooms at Atlantis vary depending on when your going...We went in Sept 04 and paid $150 with Taxes and fees.

When do you book the day room at Atlantis? can you book ahead of your trip? is there a chance you may not get one? is it safer to book the Comfort Suites? thanks

You can't book the day room at Atlantis ahead of time...just the day of. Some people will call from the ship and book from there...works well if you have a cell phone...and aren't roaming. Or you can go to the lobby and ask. But you may get the run around...we did. Your best bet would be to go to the Coral Towers Lobby in Atlantis. From what I can tell..the front desk lobby doesn't do Day Rooms...so you'll get "We don't do Day Rooms at all."...but no suggestions to try a diffrent tower in Atlantis.

Anyway...if your dead set on doing Atlantis a room at Comfort Suites may be the way to go. You'll get the same in the long run...I'm not sure what the price diffrence is. But also I've heard that the canclation policy at CS is like 48hours...which may be a problem...if your ship for some reason doesn't dock at Nassau like planned. You may not even know ahead of time that your not docking. And from the sounds of it...if you don't cancle within the 48 hours your billed for the room.

So one way (Day room @ Atlantis) your taking a risk of not getting a room...and with CS your risking booking and paying for a room that wouldn't be used.

I don't know that the ship misses Nassua much....It may depend on when your sailing and how the seas are.
