I now realize that I have to get room in order to enjoy Atlantis for the day, however I noticed that "check in time" isn't until 3:00. Do they give you the wrist bands right away though? Does anybody ever actually see the inside of their room? I also noticed a housekeeping fee (tax) per person ($7.50 each) so I figured I should at least mess up the bed or something:D
Has anybody ever skipped Atlantis and went to Cable Beach at the Marriot? If so, how was that in comparison?
Thanks for the help!

Even though official check in time is not until three, you can check in and get your wristband and use the facilities. We just made sure that they knew we were on a cruise, and that it was more or less just a day room, so we got our key to our room right away without any problems.

Hello Rachel,

Yes, you can check in right away... We had no problem checking in at the Comfort Suites, which is a simple walk across the street. Guests at the Comfort receive all amenities at the Atlantis. Check out Placestostay.com to see if there is a promotional rate at the Comfort. But then call the Comfort 1-800 reservations to book with them directly. Just ask for the promotional rate. We got the LGOLD rate, and saved a bundle over what a room at the Atlantis would have cost. We had a wonderful day!

I notice that you are also mentioning the beach, possibly the Marriott..... Everything at Atlantis is just FABULOUS!!!! Except we did not find their beach to be very inviting... ( see my trip report - Our 9/21 WONDERful cruise! )

Hope this helps! :D

Cable Beach is very nice and the water is beautiful. We were just there in August of this year.

We were on the 10/12 Wonder cruise and opted to go to Cable beach instead of Atlantis or Blue Lagoon. We walked off the boat to the port and took at cab to the Cable Beach Crystal Hotel. We walked through the casino and out to the pool and beach area. Our kids DD9 and DS4 played in the sand, swam in the ocean and pool for about 2 hours (12-2pm). We bought snacks and bottled water with us from the boat. We forgot towels - but were dry by the time we took a cab back to the port. Just walked back through the casino and taxi's were available. The cost was $20 each way/ $40 round trip for the 4 of us. I think they quoted it as $5 per person.

The beach and pool were both clean and relaxing. Not very crowded. We did not go the atlantis, so I have nothing to compare it to.

Have a great trip!

I have a similar concern: since going to Atlantis will be too costly for us (a family of 4), I am thinking other more economical activities.

Does using the pool at the Cable Beach Crystal Hotel cost?
Some one has mentioned about the beach close to the Wyndham Nassau Resort. Anyone has any idea about that?

I am also thinking the Hilton at Nassau which seems to be closer to the port than any hotel. Anyone can give me some ideas please?

On our recent cruise 10/12 we had a room reserved at the comfort Suites and checked in as soon as we got there from the Wonder.(We were off the boat as soon as they let us) The room was ready and we did go in a check it out but that was it. We made the mistake of taking a water taxi which they waited until it was completely filled up before it left(we sat still in the hot sun 30 plus minutes). It was a pathetic looking overcrowded boat. I was really afraid it would sink. I think we would have done much better via cab. By the time we reached Paradise Island we had to walk an additional 10-15 minutes. My kids were hot, cranky, and hungry by the time we reached the comfort suites. We then had to walk over to Atlantis and find our way to the pool area to get our wristbands.

IMOHP I don't think it was worth the money($175 with tax and sevice charges). We only rode a couple of the slides (long lines which moved very slow) and went in the pool for a little while. We ate lunch there (another $30) The kids then wanted to go back to the ship. I was very dissapointed about the money I spent in such a short time but am glad I satified my curiosity.

If you do decide to go Don not take the water taxi.

I stayed at the Crystal on Cable Beach years ago and I absolutely loved it. There was beach activities (limbo contests, ect.), the beach and pool was very nice, and best of all.... free. Atlantis didn't have its 100 million dollar makeover yet so I have nothing to compare it to. Has anyone been to BOTH?
